Yeah, I had forgotten about the if(!variable) command -- much simpler than what I put there already. Oh well, I will still able to get mine working though. And I think Xeo is right though on the variable -- I think it's $loguser and not $log.

Heh, I barely hit 2,800 posts from this board and the old board since I was a frequent poster on the old board. I don't even have 10% of the posts now that I had on the old board, lol. Anyway, congrats on getting 10K posts before anyone else Kitten Yiffer -- I imagine it'll be Trapster then Colleen to be the next ones to hit 10K posts. I'll get there eventually though -- maybe when I'm 95, I'll reach it.

Recently, there have been quite a few movies released that have had a lot of violences/guts/gore in them. My question to you is, how tolerative are you when it comes to that stuff? On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 meaning you'd only watch G movies, and 10 for only R movies and above), rate your level of threshold for guts and gore. For me, my rating would probably be an 8. I can tolerate a lot of it, but I guess I have to draw the line somewhere. (edited by VGFreak877 on 06-15-05 01:27 PM) (edited by VGFreak877 on 06-15-05 01:27 PM) |

Yeah, the Monthly Points portion of gendpr.php has to be manually edited. That's why it's a lot of work for Colleen when a lot of people change their names all the time. Ever since the staff reshuffling, I'm finding myself coming on here a lot more now. Oh well, I guess I could take a break from studies for a few hours anyway. |

Okay, it's been a while since I attempted the last return of this game (September 2004 to be exact), but since I have a little bit of extra time, I thought I'd bring it back. I successfully completed 3 rounds of this game, and have even given out a prize to someone. So let's see if we can make this the best game yet. Here are the rules for anyone that has not seen this game before (with a few revisions): (1) I'm going to give 3 items. Your task is to come up with the common link for those items. The first one to respond with the correct response will receive the point value of the set. The more points the set is worth, the harder the set will be, and the less obvious the answer will be. (<--- Remember that. ) It's always good to look at the point value of the set to determine whether the answer will be obvious or not. (2) During the course of the game, I will give periodical bonuses. At every 10th round, I will give clues for a Mystery Character/Person which will be worth 5 points on the first try. After every turn that the Mystery Character/Person is not correctly given, 1 point will be taken away from the bonus. But I will continue to give clues, even when the bonus gets down to one point. After every 20 rounds, a 3-point bonus question will be asked. (3) The first person to 200 points wins. But, there's a twist -- if a person answers a certain amount of questions in a row, that person will receive smiley faces. These are good to add additional points to your score. You can use them anytime you want. If you answer 4 questions in a row, you get 1 smiley, 8 questions get 2 smilies, and 12 questions get 3 smilies. If you answer 20 in a row, you will receive 5 smilies!! (4) NEW FEATURE!! At certain points in the game, I will give random bonus sets that will be worth no less that 10 points and be no more than 20 points. As you can see, these will be quite challenging and no clues will be given for these. Okay, without further adieu, let's begin the game!! SET #1: donuts, cheese, CDs (edited by VGFreak877 on 06-15-05 02:34 PM) (edited by VGFreak877 on 06-15-05 02:35 PM) (edited by VGFreak877 on 06-20-05 11:05 AM) (edited by VGFreak877 on 07-13-05 05:08 PM) |

I'm pretty sure Colleen will be the 3rd person to get 10K since he's got a 2,000 post lead over Kyouji. And seeing how much Colleen and Kyouji post, I would venture to say that that lead is probably going to be static. Anyway, congratulations to another 5-digit Acmlm member. Objection Overruled!! The point of the game is find a common link between the three items given. If the common link has anything to do with the three items that are given, then the common link is a valid answer. If I were to be specific on everything, there would be no point to this game, and everyone would get the answers right away. You have use a little bit of deep thinking to get some of the answers. Sorry, just had to point that out. By the way, Swiss cheese has holes in it. (edited by VGFreak877 on 06-15-05 03:03 PM) (edited by VGFreak877 on 06-15-05 03:03 PM) |

Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe 48 staff members on this board is the most I've ever seen -- especially the amount of Local Moderators (29). Oh well, all the more to keep this place nice and tidy -- congrats to everyone that got promoted.

HH: How's the Japanese learning experience going for you? Anyway, I can speak English, Spanish (although not as much lately, and gradually losing it), and Japanese (I would say I'm an advanced beginner -- I've got the basics down pat now -- and know about 400 kanji). |
