It's probably because it won't go to the anchor if it's not available when it's first displaying the page. IE jumps to the anchor once the page is finished loading..

Meanwhile, I'm working on Zero Mission ranks (and helping Clockworkz with the Super Metroid ones). They're coming along nicely, but I'm worried some of them might be too big (dimension-wise). For example:
I KNOW I'm going to have to just use a portion of Kraid. I'm not going to upload all the normal enemies I've made, but here are a few of my favorites..

I think all the normal enemy ones are fine with timing.. one problem with the bosses is it's a lot harder to get sprites, so they have to have a much lower framerate to be at the right speed. Hmm. Internet explorer doesn't like any delay lower than .1 seconds for some reason... I know other browsers do, but I'd like the ranks to work in most browsers. I could take out frames, but then it would look ugly. Yeah, the Imago one needs to be reworked... apparently he does raise one wing before the other though, I don't know why. Anyway, the process got much easier when I noticed I can pause VBA and advance one frame at a time... but a LOT of those sprites have pure black pixels which aren't transparent, which when I'm taking screenshots are indistinguishable from the transparent pixels.. wtf. Also, I had to fudge the top part of the left vine on the larva, which was blocked by my missile display. Pretty much everything I've read on Zero Mission refers to it as the Brinstar Worm, so unless I come across a more official source that says differently, that's what I'm sticking with.. I might rework that one too, since I made it before I was doing frame-per-frame rips, when my process was "Set frameskip to zero and rapid-fire screenshot key".. |

Well, I didn't read through all the "chapters" on that site you linked to, but I got up to chapter 6 or whatever and it seems to indicate pretty heavily that it wasn't the parents...

I've had some friends tell me about thinking in Spanish when they come back from Mexico, even if they're more "comfortable" with English.... On another note, I seem to remember the time when I switched from thinking... without words... to thinking in words. It takes a lot longer when I have to phrase stuff in my head. I wish I could go back. =o EDIT: I'm talkin about conscious thought here, I know at the subconscious level it's all abstract anyway (edited by ZemYD4MOD2 on 04-20-04 01:54 AM) |

It doesn't matter, the point is they were there. Which means they were there however many thousand years ago, and they're here today and for, well, all of recorded history. (Greeks aha.) The "fad" idea does not hold up. People do not choose to be gay or not. This is not an opinion, it is a demonstrable fact.

The exact same thing happens to me! It's happened three times in as many days. I thought it was my wireless keyboard, but I exchanged it for a regular one after the second time and it just happened again (i'm using on-screen keyboard... unpleasant). It also sorta repeats the last few keystrokes, which is probably causing the beeping. It also makes this sort of thing happen in AIM: CCut Chemistt: I'm actually making these for this other guy... he made the multiviola and the yard, and I made all the others, g, heh CCut Chemistt: I'm actually making these for this other guy... he made the multiviola and the yard, and I made all the others, h, hg, heh CCut Chemistt: I'm actually making these for this other guy... he made the multiviola and the yard, and I made all the others, h, hg, heh CCut Chemistt: I'm actually making these for this other guy... he made the multiviola and the yard, and I made all the others, h, hg, heh CCut Chemistt: g, heh, h CCut Chemistt: , hehade all the others, CCut Chemistt: , hehhe others, I was trying o delete it near the end there as it got repeatedly entered into the send area, which sort of worked, but increased the beeping. Of course, when itfinished its rampage the keyboard stopped working. The numlock light is on, and if I press any of the lock keys on screen, te lights on the keyboard respond accordingly. But the keys theselves do nothing. Okay, I've done enough clicking on keys. I'm restarting. |

My favorite is a gunner with Concentrate and all the abilities. Boom, instant stop, charm, whatever. He doesn't need any secondary abilities, he kicks too much ass. Though most of my moogles have juggle or whatever because Smile comes in handy. Free quicken. Also, this isn't what you were asking for, but in the ORIGINAL FFT, the best was the main character as a squire with master Math Skills as a secondary ability. Not the slowness of a calculator, and he can also Scream every other turn to kick cumulatively more and more ass. Add a mime in the mix and you're unstoppable. I checked, apparently he's Acmlm's sister's friend or something. You'll just have to put up with him for a while. I have no idea why he's talking about michael jackson. |

I made all the super metroid ones except multiviola and yard, which have yet to show their faces here... heh. So I'm to take the blame for those too. Okay, this is kind of odd, because I'm using firefox now, and my normal enemies sprites seem to be moving slower than they did in IE... which is the opposite of what I expected. Also, I use ImageReady, which doesn't use these numbers you're referring to... it sets frame delay in increments of a second. The lowest by default is .1 seconds.. I can choose "other" and set it to much more precise values, but they all seem to go the same speed in IE. So I'm kinda at a loss here. Maybe if I do regular shit instead of "restore to background", which I do for compatibility issues... "Don't get me wrong, it's not easy to get these right, but... If you're gonna make these animations, might as well make the timing correct. Else it's all kinda meaningless. ^-^" Actually I'm glad you point out the problems because I do want to make them as good as I can, as well as I can. |

Okay, fyxe, according to ImageReady, your delays are set at 0.06 and 0.08 seconds (0.06 for the mellow, and a mix of both for the geemer.. I haven't checked the others). Apparently, this DOES work in internet explorer, just not for the big sprites like Ridley, which I was trying it on. Very mysterious. Anyway, firefox displays them much slower. How sad. But that's okay.

Also, since this happened both with a Logitech wireless thingy keyboard (which has its own drivers installed) and a generic keyboard labeled "IBM" - and it's likely Colleen has a different brand too - and we both have WinXP - it's probably a problem on the OS's end. But I don't really know what I'm talking about, so I'll just give you the facts. Okay, they're up there. ^ |
