Hello and welcome to the Game Creation Centre! The following are a few guidelines which you should follow before posting.

  • If you have a question about a specific game creation tool, then make sure to specify which tool it is your question is about.

  • Make sure that you properly detail your question. The better you formulate your question, the easier it will be for someone to help you.

  • Before asking a question, try to make sure that the same question was not previously asked. (I will soon provide a list of questions which have already been asked and answered so that it will be easier to find out if the question was previously asked.)

  • If you are looking for a type of resource (charset, faceset, etc?), try to look for some on a search engine before posting a thread. For example, if you are looking for Mario charsets, then you could search for ??RPG Maker? Mario Charset?.

  • If you are unsuccessful in finding what it is you are looking for, then make sure to specify that you did in fact try searching before posting.

  • RPG Maker XP

RPG Maker XP is not a free program. If you want you can buy the english version from Enterbrain by going to this page.
    http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/

  • Do not ask where to find a cracked version of RPG Maker XP in a thread or by making your own thread. Instead, buy the program.
  • Do not post a link to RPG Maker XP. If someone asks where they can download it, tell them to buy it.

Posted on 06-18-05 09:05 PM, in Favorite SNES games Link
I spent so many years only playing Super Nintento. I lived in an area where new things didn't get to us quickly, so it took me a few years before I found out about new consoles. Anyway, I have alot of favorite SNES games:

Breath of Fire 2
- I played this before even playing the first Breath of Fire. I have always found it to be a good RPG because it has a good story, and there's even a little bit of customization since you can decide what your town will look like from three choices.

Chrono Trigger
- Another good RPG, and it has always been one of my favorites. I have finished many times just because of New Game +, and trying to see all of the different endings was also interesting.

Earthbound
- I really liked how Earthbound was very different from other games. Playing games with swords and axes in some sort of medieval era is fun, but it

You're right. Although Collision Testing could be Game Related, the question is still related to programming, and more people might be able to help in the Programming Forum.

You sure can make something interesting with this, but it is not a free program. If you want to get it, try to search for it with a search engine. You can also ask someone to send you a link to where you can get it, but do not ask about downloading it in the forum.

Posted on 06-26-05 11:55 AM, in Short Film - Infinitus Malus Link
I finished this short film a while ago and wasn't going to post about it, but now I decided to anyway. It's a video I did for a video production course during my last semester. Some of the dubbing isn't too good so I may re-edit it in the future. The quality of the video also went down when I captured the footage with the computers at my College, but it's still not too bad.

Anyway, here's a link the video:
http://teh-ko.com/movies/InfinitusMalus.wmv

The video is 17.6mb so it may take a little while to download. I might make an even lower quality version if people have problem getting this one.

Posted on 06-27-05 07:16 AM, in That's extremely annoying Link
The only problem I ever had was when a librarian thought the board was a game a few years ago. I explained to her what it was, but she didn't understand and left. She actually asked me the same thing a few weeks later, and I had to explain to her once again that it was not a game.

I don't really have any problems anymore since I have my own computer, but back when there was only one computer in the house I would sometimes get bothered by my parents. It didn't happen too often though since the computer was in a separate room which my parents never really went to.

It was never released in North America, so the only way you can get it is by importing a japanese version. You can find an english translation of the RPG Maker XP website here.

You can also get english translations which were made by people, but those aren't exactly legal.

You just bumped this thread by 4 months. Bumping can happen in this forum since it isn't very active, but 4 months is a little too much.

Posted on 06-27-05 10:52 PM, in Rpg Maker XP Change Title Screen Link
If by the picture you mean the background that appears in the title screen, then you can change that by opening up the "Dabatase" (It can be found under the tools menu.) and then the "System" tab. The second drop down menu ("Title Screen") will allow you to change the background on the title screen.

As for the layout of the title screen, you will have to edit "Scene_Title" in the script editor, but what you have to modify will depend on what it is you want the layout to look like. For example, if you want to do a simple modification like changing the text of the three options, then you just have to change the variables s1, s2 and s3 which contain the text for the three options.

Posted on 06-29-05 05:18 AM, in Rpg Maker XP Stat Calculations + Event ? Link
For your second question, one way of doing it is by adding a second page to your event, and then set the preconditions so that it requires a switch to be on. Then, all you have to do is add (on the first page of the event) a switch operation to turn on the switch which you used in the second page. Since the switch will now be on, when it loads the event it will automatically load it as the second page, and since you didn't put anything in the second page, it won't look like anything and it will be as if it wasn't there.
