As soon as Dracoon's shot connected with the first group, a detachment of robots turned toward him, and the fingers in their hands bent backwards, revealing small holes in their fingers... The NNPCs pointed their hands at Dracoon, and fired a burst of machine-gun bullets at him! UGrey: "See, I don't think these things through." He snapped his fingers again, and another dozen NPCs exploded! |

UGrey: "Oh, just your run of the mill NPC riot. I'm honestly hoping this new guy that's coming in next round is a good battler, we need some decent fights in this tournament or else this isn't gonna stop happening...." User Grey crossed his arms in an X pattern, and threw them to his sides, using Red's Phoenix Rush attack on a huge crowd of NPCs, which immediately burst into flame as the burning UGrey missle crashed through them. He was immediately brought to a stop, however, by the sight of Sky-bot... "Hey, aren't you..." No time for introductions, however... Janus, having been thrown upward by the crowd in his frenzied riot-crushing, crashed into the wall beside Sky-bot and User Grey, slumping to the ground and groaning as the NPCs set upon him with their fists! User Grey snapped his fingers again, and the NPCs attacking Janus were blown to bits! Janus: "They've taken SB Arena C, and they're holding John hostage! Evan, Jason, Grey, and I tried to save him, but they've got flamethrowers and grenade launchers too! What kind of twisted maniac builds things like that?" UGrey: "Ah..... Who knows? No time for talk now, we've got to rescue Blue!" UGrey took off down the halls past Sky-bot, blasting every bot in his path to smithereens, and letting a hail of machine gun bullets ricochet off of his body as Janus scrambled to his feet and hefted his hammer through the skulls of the remaining bots in the hall! Janus: "Evan, Jason, and Grey are outside the entrance to Arena C, trying to break in, but they're not strong enough, we need more help!" UGrey: "Got it! See if you can find Schwa, Kirbynite, or Jarukoth in all of this, I'll go help the others!" Janus: "Can do!" Janus took his next left in the twisting pathways of the SB Arena annex, searching for one of his friends, as UGrey bolted off toward Arena C...

User Grey skidded to a halt at the gigantic double-doors that composed the entrance to SB Arena C. Detective Grey knelt by the door, setting some strange kind of device on the ground as Red and Green kept hitting the door, hoping to break it down. UGrey walked up to his trenchcoat-wearing counterpart, and inquired... |
UGrey: "What's the situation?" Detective Grey: "The door's been jammed shut. My guess is that they're creating some kind of wall behind the door and just using sheer numbers to overcome Red's strength." Red: "Kinda like the rabbits in Australia, but backwards!" Grey: "I'm setting some explosives near the door, hopefully that'll blow a hole in the wall. The wood's fireproof and Jason can't short circuit the electronic lock... Whoever built this made it strong. I'm not too keen on this idea...." He motions for Red and Green to get away from the door, and he backs away as well. He takes a remote out of his trenchcoat, and a piece of wire out of his hat. A few seconds later, the remote control is assembled, and Grey presses the detonator, as a massive explosion envelops the door! When the dust clears, it's still there. Unharmed, regardless of how much of the scenery around it is annihilated... Grey: "Dammit!" UGrey: "I'll handle this one..." User Grey snaps his fingers, and the door flies open, as a wave of NPC bots flies outward at the four of them! UGrey: "Go! Save John! I've got to go check on Dracoon's squad!" Red, Green, and Detective Grey faced the crowd, and charged inward, attacking yet again in a hail of bullets, fire, and lightning! User Grey teleported out, and reappeared with Team Dracoon, snapping his fingers and destroying the bots clobbering Stacice! UGrey: "Come on, you guys! Just keep at it, or else we won't be able to get rid of them fast enough to outpace their production lines!" ------------------------------------------------ Kalar: "It looks like these guys could use some assistance..." Dark Grey: "Yeah... but we'd be breaking the rules if we helped..." The two figures stood hidden in SB Arena D, still untaken by the NPC bots, watching the fight from one of Dark Grey's wiretaps on the arena... (restricted) | (restricted) |

Janus held back at Ex's anger. It was true, he didn't really know EXACTLY what Ex was, but he knew enough to make him uneasy. Truces were one thing, but Janus wanted Ex to give him a reason for his friendship. Grey, however, regained his bearings with some difficulty. He still was quite bewildered with Sensae in general, and asked him a question that, to say the least, had also been burning in Janus' mind, as well... Grey: "So, I need to know... User Grey stirred from his drooling slump in the chair across the table from Zap. He snapped to attention, looked at his haggard attire, and snapped his fingers, dressing himself in some stylish shorts and a t-shirt with a Bullet Bill on it, stating "ENEMY" beneath the artwork. He then stretched, conjured himself a refill, and offered another suggestion. |
UGrey: "Hey, how about "Least" versions of the "mosts"? Like, "least heroic" or "least original"? I'd also appreciate a "Most awesome single action" award. The nominees could be stuff like the attack Melvin did on that dragon in Treasure Beyond the Old Door... Or Jack's transformation in Story Forum Ransom EX. There should be an award for "Best Universe" too, since we obviously all exist in multiple versions of the same reality. We could also extend the Danis to the SB arena, as well. Just as a kind of comprehensive roleplaying contest."

Janus stood at the door of Fenrir's abode. He had decided. He knew about Fenrir. He knew it all. For the sake of the Grey Dawn, Janus needed to help Fenrir. "......Me." Janus remembered the first time he had ever met Origin, when he was still running from the very people who had become his best friends. The tower was incredible in size and scope, filled with traps and horrible fiends. It took a lot for him to just get through it alive, nevermind in one piece. Chances are if Origin's gotten stronger, then so has the tower. Janus sincerely doubted any one individual could get through the tower, but together... It was definitely a possibility. Along with our booming population will come booming technological advances. I forget the exact name of the person who devised this theory, but it's been projected that our rate of technological growth is exponential. As we get more and more complex, we can use the complexity of our technology to uncover even more complex technology. This same principle can be applied to our energy research. |
This one goes to ||bass especially. Wind powered fans can get going at winds as low as 2 or 3 miles per hour. They're extremely sensetive, I don't think they're intermittent enough to be consideered entirely useless, especially since there are places in the world where the wind blows literally all the time. I'm not as in support of Wind power as I am of other sources, but it IS a solution. The wind can blow at night. The sun doesn't shine at night. As for nuclear power, we haven't used a significant amount of our nuclear resources yet, and if we were to advance it to the point where a large amount of energy could be harnessed from a small amount of matter, and NOT lost, we'd have enough nuclear resources to last us at least 100 years. Most of our nuclear waste is still useful, all of that junk under Nevada is still radioactive and still has energy in it.it's like I said, if we had the guts to push nuclear development further it could become the most efficient energy source we have. Hydrogen... I didn't know you needed platinum for it. That's new information. That puts me at a bit of a standstill here. However, considering the average hybrid car goes for about USD $20,000, I'm guessing that the platinum used in it is such a miniscule amount that it doesn't chip away at our resources. If we really did have to use an insane amount of refined and energy-efficient platinum, then wouldn't the car cost a little bit more than the high-but-not-too-high price it has now?

Yes, but consider how much effort goes into making something like that, especially a functional one. It's needlessly expensive, yes, but the estimate isn't exactly ludicrous.... I'd say just mildly overpriced. |
