I have several... even too many, at time. XD And while it does not ttake that long to brute-force it, it will... if the checker only goes through alphanumerics and not extended characters And to ZEM: He managed to guess it (plus, I was logged in. It's kind of a tradeoff because I know his too ) That and I detest random passwords because they're hard to remember (edited by Alexa on 02-03-05 07:41 PM) |

*Alexa invisions a button saying "You need a broswer that's been updated in the last 4 years to view this page." And as a general WTF at "Narf", how the fucking hell can a page get -smaller- when -adding- things? And on the subect of file size, I'm about 100% sure that this conversation was dealing with the -OUTPUT-, not the source. OUTPUT size does matter, becuase some unfortunate people like myself still use dialup and watch as that extra 1k of < Besides, who the hell needs XHTML? OMG I CAN WRITE XHTML MY PAGE > YOUR PAGE LOL! Did we all forget this little thing called "html" (which, I'll admit, this board fails at but not as bad as OMG XHTML) which works fine (especially HTML 4.01 Transitional, and before you say something about it being un1337-look-at-my-xhtml-penis it works perfectly fine) Also, you morons forgot to take one important factor of Acmlmboards into account. LAYOUTS. (text huge for emphasis) LAYOUTS will ALWAYS end up fucking up your little omg-xhtml shit. This board will never conform to your pathetic little standards because of the nature of layouts. In short: Get over it. It's fucking code. Unless you view this page through a 10-yhear-old toaster, stop whining. Even then it's your fault because you're using a 10-year-old toaster. |

Allow me to just put a little bit of thought into this, since Narf has repeatedly missed my point about filesizes --it's the output size, you dumbass, it has nothing to do with the source size -- which would be this. Method A. Looks like complete shit in the source, but gets the job done and looks perfectly fine in all browsers that don't suck (see "non-text browsers" because we left the stone age a long time ago) and has no extreme problems spare a misplaced text box. Wooooooopdiedo. Method B. Pretty source code. Looks the exact same as A. Took twice as long to write, verify, reqwrite, reverify. Works in browsers (spare text browsers becuase they suck anyway) Anyone with half a brain (unless, you know, you're being PAID TO WRITE PERFECT CODE (WHICH LET US REMIND YOU OF THE ORIGINAL TOPIC THAT ACMLM IS NOT)) would pick method A. Or you could just be an elitest look-at-my-super-xhtml-peniz-lol and force XHTML down others throats because waaaa the source isn't pretty @ windwaker and my (new) site being 4.01T compliant: 10:01'49" | < 10:02'06" | < @ Narf: Originally posted by an XHTML elitestHow am I a layout fanaticist? I hate layouts that are rediculosuly stupid (like idiots with white-on-white) but FYI I have layouts off. If, for some reason, you think I like making these, it's mainly because I have nothing better to do and they're nothing more than 4 minutes work because they're not meant to look pretty in the source. Sorry if you don't like it ---- Other than that Elric has pretty much covered most of the bases. (Congrats, Elric. You kick ass.) |

Congradulations, you miss the award again. SMALLER, FINISHED OUTPUT SIZE = WIN THE SOURCE WORKINGS DO NOT MATTER. THE FINISHED, SENT-TO-THE-CLIENT OUTPUT DOES. LESS OUTPUT > MORE OUTPUT OMITTED TAGS (assuming they don't cause one giant row or some other bullshit which is not happening) IS GOOD. |

Not sure, but can't you just open the castle intro level in LM, edit it there, and save it? It seems like it'd save a lot of time and problems (and that thing wasn't too terribly descriptive, either) | |||

Glitches are fun when used in that "Let's play a custom game and just fuck around" mood. Like the one I heard about having someone fly off from a warthog, or whathaveyou. In other news I got up to Level 8 in Big Team Battle, then I went back down to 7. XD I suck. |

WOAAAAAAAAHHH! No, really. It's that game probably few of you know about now that was super-fun back before it went P2P (with 400 people online at the moment; a far cry from two years ago with over 15000) Anyway, there's a new, not-P2P server out from our old, loveable friends over at PocketHouse. All the stuff is HERE. The actual files are HERE (right click to download; AngelFire). A map of our current design status can be found in the below image. Naturally, you're not going to have an account (after all, you'll never have played.) Since most people here have AIM, just contact me on AIM (XkeeperNaN) for one or PM me here. A few people have already been on there from here (okay, more like one) and they had... uh ... fun? So I decided to bring this here, knowing that quite a few people (Acmlm, Drag, uh... someone else, I forgot most of the screenshots now) enjoied it back in the day. Since, as you can see in the design shot above, we have tons of unused, unplanned space, feel free to suggest things, or NPCs. I'm bored most of the day and like things to do, so here's your chance! Now for the reason most of you will not join; I'm a full admin there. Since I'm a designer (having made several NPCs and the shop) along with Zephiris (owner of server) I got admin status (yay). If you get stuck, just open the playerlist (or get me on AIM) and PM me. Now for some basics about this. ===== RUN "GRAAL13.EXE". This is the client. The rest is just leftover baggage I'll clean out when I host a smaller, only-for-clients version (since quite a few things in there are, er... yeah) After this, you should probably choose "ONE PLAYER" (not online). Pick a character from the list on the right and start a game. Play around a bit. Learn the controls. Short breakdown: A: Lift things S: Sword D: Item Q: Inventory M: Map DELETE (in inventory): Delete NPC weapon (danger: some aren't easy to get back!) ALT+1: Full-Level screenshot (mostly worthless) ALT+2: Screenshot ALT+3: Toggle Minimap (usually broken, though if it changes to a more realistic looking one, it's working right) ALT+4: Toggle bytetransfer number (A small "b: x" will appear in the lower right; that's incoming bytes) ALT+5: Save Level to .graal file ALT+6: Record movements ALT+7: Stop Recording F1: Options F2: Load Game (Offline Only) F3: Save Game (Offline Only) F4: Editor (Offline Only) F5: Load Level (Both, but will disconnect if used online) F6: Debug (uh, worthless) F7: Playerlist (It's good to keep this open) If you like the character, go ahead and quit and select "ONE PLAYER ONLINE". If not, try again. Also note that you cannot exit the starting house in the offline mode. The levels are gone. From here, it's pretty simple to get from point A to point B. Just read lots of signs and you should be safe. (FYI: the constant meeting place is "Reitz SSE" on the design map. It's in the huge building.) Anyway, post if you enjoy it (or have suggestions!). I really hope more people come on, since there's usually only me or one other person online (and before you say "I'll do it when more people come online," remember that a lot of people have that additude and unless you start it, it'll always stay in this half-unfinished state and anyone who does get guts will be alone!) |

This is an older server and doesn't support all of the things, sadly. We (Zephiris, really) are looking into finding 1.39 so we can upgrade the server, because right now there are some pretty bad lag problems with a few people. |

*Alexa picks the invisible "I use it, only because several other people use it" Really, AIM (as long as you use something besides it, like GAIM or Trillian or whatever) is > MSN. MSN has shitty text formatting. You can't bold certain words, you can only style the entire sentence Not to mention the chatwindow: SomeMoronWithAreallySuperLongName says: what up SomeMoronWithAreallySuperLongName says: *whatss SomeMoronWithAreallySuperLongName says: *whats AnotherMoronWithAreallySuperLongName says: not much The lack of timestamps and logging kill it |
