I just read Legion's comment about Animal Crossing on the DS, and this came to mind: back when it came out for the Gamecube, everyone said it sucked, was a kiddy game, etc. Is that true, and even if it is, what are you looking forward to seeing in the DS title?

Wow. I looked at this thread a couple minutes ago, came back, and there's 9 replies already

Sarcasm or not, this thread did have really good timing At first I thought it was about what just happened to the board, but I looked and found out I was wrong

I recently made an account at GameFAQs, but I haven't used it at all Their whole registration with different email addresses (the stuff having to do with verification times and all that) put me off at first

How many times has this sort of thing happened to this board now?

That would be nice if they did I notice nobody around here's getting hyped about the PSP At least not that I've seen The only system I've ever played of Sony's was Playstation, and that was when my friend first got FFVII Other than that I've never been a fan of Sony's consoles or the games to play on them. It might be neat to see what sort of games they're going to put out for the PSP whenever it's released though.

Like Kratos asked, what would they add, or how about this: if you were able to add one thing to the DS, what would you like to see added?

I don't get to play my copy of the game 'till Christmas The Gamecube's mine, so when I get the game, I'm playing it for as long as I want It also helps when the TV in here doesn't work except for watching videos and playing games but I'm getting off-topic.

I've only seen a couple screenshots of it, and some movies at Gamespot. It looks really good

Similar to Metroid Prime? I would hope so; it does have 'Metroid Prime' in the title. Somewhat cooler atmospherically. Do you mean there's more atmospheres to play in, or they just look better? It could be a combination of both as well. The new scan visor. There's one more scan visor than the previous game, or it just graphically looks better? I was going to say something about the puppies, but unless you're really being serious about there being puppies in the game (which I highly doubt) I won't say anything.

The light / dark world thing sounds really interesting as well. I wonder if it is going to be like Link to the Past, where there's harder to beat enemies and such in the dark world, and harder areas to get through, etc.

I know I could've found almost all of the stuff I just asked you by looking on GameFAQs or something, but I don't want to ruin it for myself

I can't say I ever saw you on the board before (besides looking in the memberlist and seeing that you were banned )

Anyhow welcome back I assume you know the rules, but if not, read the FAQ, and don't let people push you around this time

Posted on 12-03-04 02:18 AM, in Christmas Decorations Link
There's a house that's a fair distance from ours that decorates to no end for most holidays. They've recently put their stuff up, but still, their house is so bright with all the lights on it, you could use it as a landmark for visiting relatives or something I have to wonder what their hydro bill gets like around then

We still haven't put up decorations here (at our house). I assume they're going up sometime after the 13th. I had to put up a Christmas tree today at volunteering, so it's obvious they're getting the stuff done as soon as they can

Our decorations usually consist of the following:

:: A Christmas tree (obviously), decorated and all
:: Strings of shiny bead things that we hang over the fireplace
:: Strings of those icicle lights around the eavestrough on the porch
:: A bunch of various small figurines that get randomly placed around the house

Virus'd? By the sound of it, it seems to me like something that'd drain your health, but I'm not sure

Two questions: Are there more areas in the game than compared to Metroid Prime?

Am I the only one that's able to see what's in the spoiler area while viewing the post normally, or is it something with what happened to the board last night? I saw the spoiler heading, but highlighting it did nothing. The text that's supposed to be hidden just showed underneath it, but luckily, I have no clue what the spoilers are talking about

Posted on 12-03-04 05:22 AM, in Zelda 64 Hacking? Triforce Related Link
I remember reading somewhere that the triforce you see under the ground in the area you first meet Zelda at is the same one you see on Link's hand at some point in the game (that's why one of the pieces is brighter than the others).

I don't think it could become a collectible item in the game without a heavy amount of hacking, most likely involving a fair bit of ASM as well

There's also this picture:
The Triforce in an Early Version of Z64
I think I first saw that in a Nintendo Power magazine a while back. Most definitely from an early version of the game. The only thing that gets me about that is that the A button is blank Maybe it actually does that with the latest version that was released, but I haven't played it in a while

I wasn't able to find anything related to game data on google though. Hopefully someone knows where something can be found regarding that

I don't see why they could've just had a 'press this button / button combo, and get unlimited items for your sixth slot'. That would've been easier, although there's probably something even simpler they could've used

The most recent one I can remember is this:

On Joshua (an old NES game) if you put in a level code that's divisible by 5, you can access level 0, which you're not supposed to be able to get to in the normal game. If you choose to play the level, it's messed up. Tiles are in weird places, sometimes Joshua starts on the outside of the level, but interestingly enough, some levels are still possible to beat If you try to go in the exit, it just puts you right back at another glitched level. I did that on a copy of the ROM on our computer, and now whenever I load it up in any emulator, the levels are glitched up

I found out the level 0 trick just under a year ago now, so that's why I say it's still somewhat recent

You don't know how to get to the minus world, or you're just trying to figure out how it works?

I completely forgot about that one

Well, to get into the minus world, this is what you have to do:

:: Get to the pipe near the end of either 1-2 or 4-2 as big Mario. You should still be underground when you arrive at the pipe
:: Jump up on the pipe, and smash the two bricks to the left of the rightmost one. As in this picture:

:: Now comes the tricky part. You need to jump up, will still facing to the right, and make the back of Mario's head go through the remaining block on the right. If it goes through, but you fall back down onto the top of the pipe, keep trying, and eventually you'll get this:

:: Don't move. Mario should move through the blocks himself, and fall out in the area on the right. Go down the leftmost pipe, and the screen should show '-1' as the level number.

I haven't had much luck getting it to work on Mario all Stars, but I did get it to work in our NES. I don't know if it'll work in a NES emulator, but you can try I did it on All Stars there, and it sent me to world 5 once

As far as the Mario 2 glitch goes, I never tried carrying a potion through a door and using a warp. I'll have to see what it does

Edit: I just read Keikonium's post, and it made me remember a glitch I ran across in Perfect Dark. I can't remember the level name right now, which I know doesn't help, but it was in one of those levels in the underground area with those big wide elevators. There were a couple of the doors that were locked, but if you turned on the invisibility cheat or whatever it was, and made the guards follow you back to the door, they'd open it, and you could look out and see the level background, and if you looked up, you could see through the underside of the elevator

The bug part of that would have to be leaving the enemies with the ability to open locked doors, but then again, I suppose some stuff in the game wouldn't work otherwise

Well, I never knew that. I've always heard it called the minus world up 'till now, and for the sake of easiness, I'll continue calling it that Interesting bit of information though.

One other bug of sorts popped into my mind about 10 minutes ago. The 'black room of death' on Mario 64.

From what I know, they're just small game carts (I could've read the thing on the DS site wrong though). I could be sure back when the DS was just a possible thing, I read that it would be able to play Gamecube games Maybe it actually said 'GBA'. Who knows now though; I can't find that paper it was written on.

I don't know a whole lot about iPods, except for the fact that they're MP3 players

I was able to find this program, for converting WMA to MP3. If anyone knows of a better one, feel free to suggest it, since that was the first free (I hope) one I could find with google

I wasn't able to find anything about OGG support, as in most sites didn't say it supported that file format, so unless things have changed recently, you're out of luck there.

I think scyther was banned because he broke the rules repeatedly. Other than that, I don't know what happened the first time, since I wasn't a member of the board when it happened. He tried to join again last night, but he wasn't allowed back, so he got banned again. However, as long as you don't break the rules, you should be fine.

Having the same IP might be tricky, but if he got an IPBan, I don't think you'd even be able to get to this site

In short, follow the rules, and I don't see any reason you'd get banned.

Welcome to the site, and if nothing bad happens in regards to you having the same IP as scyther, have fun

Well, I guess in the end it's up to Acmlm's discretion. I must admit, the stuff that's been brought up so far doesn't make things look very good for you, but I won't make any for-sure statements yet. For all I, or anyone else here knows, you really could be scyther's brother, but then again, you could really be scyther just trying to get back on the boards

I didn't own the vehicle, but we were up getting KFC for lunch, and my Mom closed the van door, effectively locking the keys inside We had to wait for my Dad to drive up from work with the spares

I'm guessing the car's still in the middle of the parking lot or whatever for you, hmm? That must suck, but hopefully your Mom has spare keys.
