just a few more days to go, this one's nearly finished, so here are some screens for the meantime.


the clouds in the BG are animated, taken from the screen before a level starts in SMASSMB1. and so is the grass


i don't have the right music for the bonus areas yet, but i do for everything else


The lava was ripped from SMAS, it's NOT the one from SMW






the cloud tram is animated


the stars in the BG are animated, just like SMAS.
i still have to add the animated orange flags to to castle




the wateris animated


we can't forget luigi!


this looks like the lakitu from SMAS but it acts like the one in SMW, except that you can't hop into his cloud


i haven't added the clouds here yet, or with the next few...










the bullet bills are animated




The torch in the BG is animated

as i said, it's not finished yet. give me a few days to fix the status bar and extra clouds and stuff like that.

EDIT: And don't forget, it's unlocked and hackable for you guys!

no, it's a bullet bill. there were no missile bills in SMB1, and that's what this game is supposed to be. i took that screenshot before i fixed the palettes. now they look like they're supposed to in SMASSMB1.

I want to hear more from you guys, please tell me what ya think.

And again, this rom will be hackable!

every second bonus stage has Luigi in the BG, regardless of the player.
That's all that a person who doesn't know ASM could acheive.

okay thanks for the comments. the game's about 99.999999999% complete. all that's left to do is connect the pipes and exits in the overworld, and edit the credits. it should be ready by tomorrow morning at 8:30 GMT along with some screenshots of SMB The Lost Levels.

yeah, there are no firesticks, or hammer bros. That's hidden graphic from SMW used before flight. there was nothing i could do. Bouche composed that playlist for SDW3. i'm not a big fan of the star music either.

and am i not saying this right? IT's UNLOCKED. the main reason i did this was so that people can hack a game with good GFX.

I just relised there was a problem with the vines. i fixed it and updated the download.

the file size is 4mb, but i didn't need to expand it when i tested patching it. are ya using Lunar IPS, Habsolute? did it work yet?

those aren't spinies, they're buzzy beetles. SMW uses the same GFX for Spinies and buzzy beetles and SMW never uses both in the same level. in my hack, W8-2 is the only level i had to use both(because of lakitu). And the mushroom block thing: it's a glitch from SMW, and it only happens very rarely.

Has anyone started hacking it yet?

the ball n' chain uses the same GFX as the trams from W2-4. so i can't use both.

thanks for tellin me about the hands! i looked all over for them, strangely enough, i didn't think of looking at the top of the list

I wasn't able to fix the lakitu cloud with the Sprite reconfigurator.

By the way, it seems i've already predicted every complaint i've heard today. i haven't yet heard about a mistake i didn't know i made.

Good question. he does pop out, but i deleted all his GFX, and used the Sprite REconfigurator to make it so that he doesn't interact with Mario, so mario doesn't get hurt, and ''don't interact with objects'' so that he falls straight through the ground when he comes out.

And by the way, before someone mentions it, Mario bending down looks crap because i had to squeeze a 16x22 tile into 16x16.

Has anyone started to hack the game yet?
