Hell freaking yes. Well, their new lawsuit against Roxor Games (the makers of the new In The Groove game) may insinuate, according to some members on BMS, that a new American arcade version will be released. In my opinion, it makes sense. What Konami should do is either take more songs from Dancemania, or just convert a truckload of really good songs from IIDX. I'd like that, seeing as how there's only a single Bemani machine within 30 miles of my house (a DDR Extreme machine in a theater).

I know I want more TaQ, LED and Des-Row. That, add in MAX. (period) on the arcade (DD, that song was only on Extreme for PS2 in Japan), some creative Naoki songs, and some *good* licenses, preferrably with more of a focus on electronica, and that's how I would see Extreme 2. I'm really surprised that it took so long for DDR to catch on in America, because it's unfortunate. We seem to be the only ones who are keeping it alive, and even then Konami doesn't give us what we want in a home mix. Extreme 1 was a farce - the only good songs on it were Paranoia Max (Dirty Mix), Drop Out, .59, Ecstacy, Wild Rush (Nonstop Megamix) and The Legend of MAX.

That's about 1/4 of the songs I like on MAX1, and 1/6 of the songs I liked on MAX2. Konami really needs to get its act together.

If I had a digital camera, I'd show you what I can do on MaxX and on MAX 300. Then maybe there'd be a little more competition for you, eh, DD?

I'm having a really hard time finding a simfile of either the original Ghosts, or the complete version of the Vincent de Moor remix. I tried looking on BMS, but apparently no one else has a copy of this music either, because I couldn't find a single simfile of it. So, what do you say, Hiryuu? Do you think you can undertake this task?

Also, is there a way to mod Stepmania so that we can play In The Groove simfiles as well? Haven't been playing a whole lately, cuz I need to get a new Ignition, as well as mod it so that it lasts a lot longer.

And curse you all and your AAAs. I have not gotten a single AAA in my year and a half of playing DDR - not even on Beginner mode! My PA is incredibly terrible...

Right now, just for the premise of Smash Bros Online, the ability to download all those games, and Metroid Prime 3, I'd have to go with Revolution as of now. Plus, with so few specs to go with, I'd have to say that N is gonna take a look at what PS3 and XBox 360 have right now, and take a look at their options. I think that, although they may be last out of the gate, Revolution may have some things going for it that the others can't top.

I do agree with what was said earlier, though - Sony fanboys claim that Nintendo is getting repetitive with their game manufacturing, but I haven't seen Nintendo make four Ratchet and Clank games in as many years, which seem like fairly generic games - I wouldn't play them, and I haven't. I also think that Jak is fairly generic as well, and I haven't bothered to play any of those games.

I, for one, like Halo, so I'm interested to see when Halo 3 will be released and how it will look. Dead or Alive 4 also looks interesting (and no, not in the "I wonder how many different ways their boobs will bounce this time" way). But right now, I'd have to say Nintendo's got more leverage than most people think. They may still be able to upgrade their existing hardware before official specs are released.

IMHO, you could probably earn a lot of money from that idea no matter who you pitched it to...although, since Nintendo hasn't played their hand yet, you could do something like that if you build a prototype.

What interests me is that when Reggie was referring to Smash Bros Online, in an interview I read, said that he would "be pushing to make it go online". This obviously means that as of now, the developers probably haven't thought of making it online yet, either that or it's way ahead of what they're currently doing now. Either way, I'm going to love this game to death. I'm thinking about entering a tournament up in Seattle for Melee in late August.

Anyway, what also interests me is this other Zelda game that they have planned for Revolution. Maybe this is just me, but doesn't it seem a little early to be talking about a Zelda game being planned? Nintendo still has to worry about Twilight Princess and making sure that's the Game of the Year across everyone's board. However, if Metroid Prime 3 is anything like the first two, only with more usage for the tools you find later on and other minor gameplay tweaks, it's probably got my vote for Game of the Year for next year already.

EDIT: And because of WiFi, Revolution would be probably the best system for a LAN party considering the potential lineup for launch titles, barring Halo 3 of course.

Posted on 05-21-05 08:21 PM, in PAX - is anyone going? Link
So, most of you guys know about Penny Arcade, right? Well, they're having their second annual Penny Arcade Expo, or PAX for short, on August 26-28, in Bellevue, Washington. That's, if I recall correctly, fairly close to Seattle. It's been billed as "E3 for everyone", and there's going to be tons of gaming all around the place, not simply the things that were seen at E3. Preregistration is as of now (I think) only about $30 or $40. They also have tons of tournaments there, including:

- Mario Kart: Double Dash
- Super Smash Bros Melee
- Counter Strike (Team)
- Halo 2 (Team)
- Tekken 5
- D&D
- Magic
- The Omegathon Tournament (with a prize "any kind of gamer would covet")

Considering the timing of PAX this year, which should be fairly close to the Tokyo Game Show, there could be the possibility that Revolution may show itself at PAX, if Nintendo decides that they would like to show something at PAX. If I were them, I would, and Microsoft and Sony had better show their consoles as well. Odds are, Twilight Princess will be playable, and hopefully they'll showcase some DDR as well.

So, considering this, would you go? I'd make this a poll, but it's early in the morning, and I'm kinda tired (I live on the West Coast). A bunch of my friends are going, so as long as I can get parental consent, I will too.

That might incur the wrath of quite a few people who liked the Oracle games and Minish Cap...or Capcom in general.

Regardless, back on topic. I'm really wondering how Nintendo could make it any smaller when it already is smaller than the other two consoles (LOL XBOX is huge). Besides that, by making it smaller, they're sacrificing power to their system. And I know that Nintendo has said that they don't concern themselves with being more graphically capable than Sony or M$, but I have a feeling that it may come back to hurt them in the long run.

So yeah, I went to a party one time and played as Roy, Falco, Adult Link, and Luigi against all of my friends, who are pretty good at Melee.

As it turns out, I never got below three lives in a single match, starting from a 5-stock. I can't wait for the games to come online so I can own you all in the face. I've played Melee way too much, cuz I can cause so much damage with combos from each character that it's silly. I just can't wait to see what new characters will be in Smash Bros Online, if there are any.

What? Link's Spin Attack in SSB was TERRIBLE. He had absolutely crappy jumping power compared to what it is in Melee. Plus, Link can also use the hookshot to attach on to ledges, if you didn't know. Same with Samus' Grapple Beam. Speaking of Samus, I hope they retool her in Smash Bros online so that she has more attacks that relate to equipment from the Prime games. I'd love to fire an Ice Beam or a Wave Beam at somebody.

Also, has anyone ever looked at that special movie that's located under Options or something like that? The one that has all the characters doing really nifty stuff? I've never been able to do the one thing where you do a midair dodge and then grab an item right out of the air. Has anybody here been able to do that with a lot of consistency, and can you pull off the types of combos and crazy stuff that they show there?

Yeah, I just caught the tail end of it. Down 3-0 at the half, and then come back to win it in a shootout? Kickass. It was an awesome match. Man, I'd hate to be on AC Milan right now - they must be killing themselves. It's kinda like what happened to a local school's team - they were up 1-0 with about forty-five seconds left and the opposition scored the equalizer. Of course, since they're my school's rivals, I don't feel too bad.

Anyway, that's off topic. I hope I can see some World Cup qualifying soon, because I don't get to see any Premier League games where I live, so MLS is basically the only football I can watch on a regular basis.

Personally, I find vegans to be rather extreme, because all they can eat are fruits, vegetables, legumes, and vitamins. I eat meat, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I think vegans are extreme basically because there are meats that are actually healthy for you, and I think that some people who are vegans can be misinformed. Seriously, who said that chicken or fish, when prepared the right way, is unhealthy for a person?

Doesn't that just reinforce Colleen's point, though?

Personally, I don't usually watch a lot of movies anyway, and I have plenty of CD players, so the secondary functions of consoles aren't really what I look at.

Ironically, for this reason, I bought a Gamecube first when all three consoles were available.

The final score was 2-1, with England winning. The US had a lot of scoring chances in the last fifteen minutes, but they couldn't really get a lot of power when they had shots on goal. For a while in the second half, I thought they were being a little too timid, but England was actually the one that was very defensive throughout the entire game. If the US hadn't given up those two goals in the first half, it would probably have been a better game.

Does anybody here think the US has got a shot at repeating their showing in '02 at next year's World Cup? Or will it be more traditional powerhouses that advance farther?

Dude, at least you HAVE a IIDX machine in your area. I only have a single DDR machine in my entire city, and it's probably a good 10-15 miles away from my house. Thank God it's Extreme, or it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

Frankly, if I could own a IIDX machine, that would be the shiz. Especially if it was a RED or Happy Sky machine.

But yeah, for anyone who's ever played Disgaea, I think they can agree with me when I say that Mid-Boss is pretty damn annoying, even when you aren't fighting him.

If you haven't already, read a Stephen King book, especially if it's going to be a while. You can probably get something like It, The Stand (the new, uncut version) or 'Salem's Lot. They're all really good books.
