Trekkie, there are more error handlers in that thing than I can remember. No need to tell me about no steenkin' error handlers. If VB6 had Try-Catch-Finally, I'd use that, but for now I'll stick to On Error Goto Hell.

aah nooo the bug returns if i use elite map 3.6 on windows 98 it has a invisble background o.0 i had that bug since elite map 3.4 why is that o.0 its really annoying

yea i tried all the skins i can see all the buttons etc. but the skin is invisbile .and if you open tileset changer and close it again it stay on elite mapits really annoying

Funny thing though, is that if you we're going to point to an Emerald track after 1FF, then Elitemap would save it, but when you try to edit the song again, it says "This map has a special song value." and yep, you can't edit the music at that.

I use win 98 SE and elite map works fine for me. Maby you got some kind of virus.

uuh i dont have windows 98 second edition yust the first one and teh comp is not on internet so i dont think its a virus

We didn't expect song values to ever go over 1FF and some maps have... odd numbers. It's by design, no virus.

nope not trying to do that there is no msn and yahoo list in profileso i did thatXpand that took long to find out that i am a weirdoXP it did work thought somebody i dont know added me o.o.and the elitemap problem is not so big because i am on xp the most of the time

I know that there is a way to switch tilesets of course but is there a way to replace tilesets with your own edited version? I've always wanted to make a hack using tilesets that were my own custom sprites on them but because I couldn't ever find out how to replace the tilesets, I found it impossible. If you have this already included, then sorry for missing that. If it's not, and if you think you could, might you add this feature to the next release?

There's no way to make a new tileset from scratch, but if you use a hex editor to -copy- a tileset, you can edit the copy instead.

Yeah, that's exactly wanted to do. I just have no idea where in the coding the tileset is. I found a pokemon picture and messed with it. But are you saying if you copy the code, you can paste it in a graphics program and it come out as the graphic?

K, done.

The tileset data (not code btw) is nothing you can just copy to the Clipboard and expect a random paint program to understand. I meant to say that you copy the tileset data to a free spot in the same ROM file, repoint your map to use the copy, then edit this copy. PaintShop or whatever you suggest using doesn't enter into it.

So if I open elite map and click the copy bitmap thing, then paste in a graphics program, make the edits to it that I want, then open it in a hex editor, copy the code of it and then open the game and replace the code of the orignal tileset code, that it would work? If it would, then I just need to know where the tileset codes are. Would that have anything to do with the code above the tileset. You know up-right of the tileset.

Goddammit no.

I don't care how many times I've tried to explain it so far, or how many times I'll need to keep trying, but all I'm gonna say is that the Copy Level/Tileset Bitmap buttons don't enter into it at all. Keep reading the explanation given earlier and try to understand.
