Hey, the could always have wrapped the HD in lead.  ...althought that would make the thing heavy. >.> What happens when the HD goes corrupt on a iPod, you can just reformat it somehow? And what happens if the firmware update fails?  |

| If the hard drive fails... that depends on the fKitten Yiffer. If it's a filesystem error, yes you can reformat it. If it's a physical fKitten Yiffer, you need to replace it. I don't know if low-level formatting can be done on it, but that sometimes makes weak or dead drives come back to life, so to speak. If the firmware update fails, you can revert it to the old one, with the loss of data. |
