I have to ask: How will GMT affect the ACS?

It'll make the ACS count 5 hours early unless I get around to fix the script, which would have to be today

I have to fix "posts by time of day" so it's based on the user's timezone setting instead of the board's ...

Works for me, but I had to give the IP out already because some people aren't updated yet for the DNS.

Can we not just put the server time BACK to Eastern like it should be?

The board's not British, therefore GMT = not necessary.

Apparently not, check Help/Suggestions.

Either the server moved to somewhere near Greenwich or the board is now Standard GMT. Whichever the case, Ace has to work on the ACS script thanks to it.

That sucks. (Both the time difference AND the ACS script.)

I'm sure it's only a minor fix that Milly needs to make (5 AM instead of midnight) but still. Ow.

No, I think I'm right since midnight EASTERN time = 5 AM SERVER time. So if the server stays at GMT, then the ACS has to kick in each day at 5, not midnight.

Well the whole thing itself clocks at around 150K...the side-background is 132K. So yea, it'll take some time. I believe it's interlaced though.

Oh great, I just realized the post edit times are also shifted by 5 hours now, and don't use the user's timezone setting (since they're written as is in the database) ...

There's a simple way to push the timezone back (change one function), but the board would see it as going back in time, so that wouldn't work unless I shift all the current post/user/etc. times first

Fixing the ACS won't be hard, though

Wasn't this a problem pre-move too, just in the opposite direction (For example, let's say Hiryuu is in California [Which I don't think he is, but for the sake of argument he's just moved there. ] and makes a post at 7PM his time, then edits it at 7:05PM his time. The post shows to EVERYONE as "editted at 7:05PM" regardless of what time it was in my time, which would be 10:05PM [And the creation time of the thread would be 10PM].)?

Not that it has a lot to do with the ACS, but I always found it a little strange to occasionally see posted editted in the future and/or before they were created.

People might think that I'd prefer it this way, but I don't... Having the ACS at 5am my time means that I can stay up later at night to spree and cram it all in before I go to bed.
If it's at 12 midnight, there's less of an incentive to keep going, and I can't post during the day because I'm busy.

My ACS habits have developed to be accustomed to the 5am cut off time.

However, I won't find it as hard as you guys Spreeing at 6pm

...so that's why the clock says it's in the middle of the night. XD

Well, I doubt Colleen want to follow the GMT times, even if it means less staying up the night sprees.

...and I will probably get better ping times too, when the server is closer me.

NOTICE: THE SERVER IS NOT CLOSER TO ANYONE. IT IS IN TEXAS.

WHOIS on the board's IP address (69.44.56.134) gave this

The server's on crack and set to the GMT time zone. It is actually in the ... central? one.

...heh, I thought it was in Great britain. But why they would move it that far is beyond me thought.

Maybe they installed a UK language server OS or something, it's beyond me how they could set the timezone so wrong. Becuse the timezone is pretty much set out in the installation, unless they just clicked the "next" button...

Central is correct.

I had initially thought that maybe the server had moved to Britain or something, then quickly realized that made no sense whatsoever. I can't explain why it defaults to GMT, however.

ACS FUXX0R4G3!

I thought that'd be fixed by now but it's not, ACS is over by the script's knowledge.
