Eh that's strange. Maybe the hex editor doesn't like Win98?

I wanted to know if someone could make some FCEUXD tutorials. I'm sure this is a great utility, but even after reading the readme, and messing with the trace logger and the Code/Data logger, I don't know how to use this properly. When Parasyte made tutorials for FCEUD, it helped me understand more and then I knew how to use the thing correctly.

I know that a lof of people are having fun with this thing, so if someone has some free time, if they could make little walk-through tutorials. I would appreciate it, and I'm sure others would as well. Thank you.

Yes, a tutorial would be nice.
I <3 FCEUXD

EDIT:
For the Hex editor, you should add something to set a specific number of bytes per line and maybe a GOTO

Personally, I'd LOVE to have keyboard accelerators for the Hex Editor (i.e. Control+S for Save, Control+F for Find, F3 for Find Next, and so on) if possible.

Other than that, this is the best damn game hacking tool I've ever used. Kudos to everyone involved!

I have to say, I love the Code/Data logger. I've never seen such a nifty tool before. Totally awesome. ^^;

So, how difficult would it be for someone to port all the FCEUXD additions to FCEU from Win32 to something cross-platform like WxWidgets? I know the FCEU core itself is cross-platform--the emulator can be built and run (without a GUI) on Linux, *BSD and probably anything that SDL supports. I seem to remember Xodnizel was working on a cross-platform GUI at some point before he lost interest in the emulator altogether.

My knowledge of GUI programming is slim and my knowledge of Windows programming (other than VB) nonexistent...

Actually, I wouldn't call that rude. I agree that is is a lot more convient than fceud alone.

That isn't saying anything bad about fceud. Parasyte did an excellent job on it, and we have him to thank for this. Because, if it weren't for fceud, there would be no fceuxd.

You know, just the inbuilt hex editor that can edit the RAM just makes this one of the best NES hacking tools yet.

And that code/data logger thingy will be useful for me which documentates a certain game data. Althought I hadn't tried that one yet... playing too much with the RAM.

Thanks a lot for all of the support, I really do appreciate it. Nothing like having 40+ replies with nothing but thank you. All the time I spent writing the code really payed off.

Anyway, I wanted to show a couple of other things.

First, dan has released his rom curruptor that works with *.cdl files that fceuxd generates.
you can find it here
http://dan.panicus.org/index.php?title=Sapros
I'm not into curruption, so I haven't tested this, but I can say that it will certainly make finding stuff through curruption a whole lot easier. Since it only currupts data, games should not crash nearly as frequently as they currently do. And if you want to find level data, all you have to do is log part of that level into the *.cdl file, then, finding it should be a snap.

Secondly, to fill Coby's request, I made a tutorial for finding enemy health, which you can find here:
http://fceuxd.infinihost.net/EnemyHealth.txt

Thanks again guys, you don't know what it means to see all the thank you's

awesome, this just keeps getting better and better lol...well thanks again to you, and now to Dan as well....

one question...is the rom supposed to go really slow when you use the trace logger, and start to log, cause i started the trace logger, and then the rom slows down, almost enough to stop responding...

I can't wait to give the new updated version a run. I was lucky enough to beta test the very first demo. It's a nice running app and can't wait to start my Metroid hack with it. Good job bbitmaster for the addtions.

ok, was just making sure...oh, one other thing actually, in the tutorial you made, you said

"...You can't change it from here, but only
from rom file editing mode. So right click on it, and select "go here in rom file." This should take you to offset $3557 in the rom file."

but, I do not see the "go here in rom file" anywhere...when right clicking anything in the hex editor, or is it somewhere else?
