The question was whether he can be beaten with JUST the Master Sword.

I would say no. I know I could never do it. I used bombs and the megaton hammer. Every time I swung at him he would block or swing at the same time.

Yes. Yes he can. I did it first time through because I was assuming that no items would hit him.

I've beaten him using the master sword a couple of times. (Master Quest mainly.)

You have to use the spin attack to defeat him, but technically that's a Master Sword move. It's also helpful if you learn how to fight without Z-Targeting. Also, the horizontal slash (if you're dependent on Z-Targeting) is harder for him to block than a vertical slash.

Emptyeye gets the point, a simple yes. It's perfectly possible, and I don't think you need the Spin Attack. It's just very difficult. If you use a shield, there's an easier method... Wait until he turns aggressive, then block, wait until he hits your shield, then quickly respond with a deft horizontal slash and you'll get him if you're fast enough. If not, block and try again.

I'm pretty sure it turns into a skeleton. I can't remember the name, though (that seems to happen quite often) so if that's the right answer, hopefully it isn't an issue

There's Gibdos in Ocarina of Time The only things I know of close to them are Redeads, but as for my answer, I'm pretty sure they just burn up.

Ummm, they are in OoT, but not very much. I am pretty sure they just burn and die. They are smaller than redeads so that wouldnt make any sense fot them to change.

OK. I havent played OoT in a long time. I thought the Gibdos were skinnier than the Re-Deads. Oh well. Ya know whats weird though? Gibdos is a unique name, re-dead is kinda blah. Why didn't they call gibdos Re-Wrap or something?

Because gibdos were around first. They were in the first Zelda game.

Also. I believe when they're burned, they're just on fire for awhile, nothing specifically happens.

I'll give Karadur the point. Gibdos aren't smaller than ReDeads, and they are basically mummified ReDeads in the N64 games, however, setting fire to them only turns them into ReDeads in Majora's Mask, not in OoT.

20 - 2 Rupees for obscureness. What are the two other given names for Helmasaurs in the English translations of the games and in the manuals/guides?

Yeesh... My resourcefulness has not unearthed any additional names (despite finding scans on instruction manuals ) So I'm gonna guess they must be in the two Zeldas I haven't played, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. So... I'm just gonna guess helmetsaur and helmetasaur, because those seem possible.

As a mild clue, I'll point out that it's not Oracle of Ages or Seasons that is home to the different names for Helmasaurs.

I'll give one Rupee for one of the names, so have a guess even if you don't have both names.
