It seems like a bit more than possible, at 1,000, but who knows? Just 80 years ago, planes were amazing, and now we're in space. I don't think it'll be 20 years, but give us half a century and we may start to improve life-expcetancies quite a bit. Immortality would not be a good idea, but a few extra centuries would be great, assuming that you could survive them. |

Wow, 1,000? That's kinda long..I don't think I've heard anything in the bible or such living until then..but then I only read a little bit . I don't even know if I'd want to live that long I mean.. it would be intresting and different. It could be possible but I don't think it'll be available for sure to work in my lifetime. It'd take a good while to push life expectantcies up that far. | |||

I'm glad that someone read the article throughly (Zem), let it put this way. It's not only about extending life, it's also about staying young. You won't end up having a diaper in a wheelchair for 500 years. And well, most scientiets are wierd (even if theyre "right") anyway. So don't stare at the beard. And well, Womans can only have children before they're 50-60 becuse there is a set number of eggs. Sure you can produce new eggs with stemcells and then insert them into the woman but still... |

I dunno Phinox, you may well if you were to get the operation done on you. It's not too impossible, really. Also Kitten Yiffer, I read through the article fairly thoroughly, too =/ |

Yeah. The main side effect of the operation is abnormally high levels of awesome. I'm getting the operation as soon as it's available regardless of how much it costs/the dangers... I want to learn, dangit, and if I'm alive for a long fricking time, I can learn a lot, so it'll be worth it regardless of the risks because if it works then woo hoo. It does sound interesting, yes, but I wouldn't do it because it sounds freaky, and besides, I'm a Christian so I wouldn't want to delay my meeting with the lord. Living to see humans advance to the point of leaving the galaxy does sound interesting, though. |

No offense to you, Mario0mega; you're allowed to think whatever way you want, but personally, I'm a Christian as well, but I'd like to be able to live for as long as I possibly can without becoming some sort of vegetable |
