| The song will be considered a red song if any stage on Heavy is a 10 or higher. Genom Screams is a 9-footer single but is a 10-footer double...hence, it's a red song. That's the only reason...although, I believe there is a way around that by #DISPLAYRED: or something. |

I've seen up/down arrows so don't worry.  They wouldn't be on the pad if they weren't used.IGN gave it 8.0, GameSpot gave it 7.0 and pretty much seemed to put it through the wringer.  |

That's what I thought as well. It would make the game quite a bit easier, but a lot mmore boring As for progress on that game, I finished story mode on Easy, then started and finished Normal as well. I just started going through it again this morning, on Hard, which is going fairly well. I have to say watching Bowser dance during the intro to the last song was... different  The same thing goes for his reason for stealing the musical keys.Story Mode aside, I also did quite a bit of multiplayer with my brother yesterday night. He used his controller, and I used the pad. Most I the time, I played on Normal or Hard, while he chose either Hard, Very Hard, and occasionally Super Hard. Results from the songs we played ranged from C's to A's, for both of us. What did get annoying was him constantly trying to get me to use a controller instead. After nearly every song, he'd say something like "See? With a controller, you can make it through hard songs easily." I keep telling him no though, so hopefully he gets the point soon My biggest accomplishment so far in the game is getting an A on Garden Boogie, on Very Hard. Anyways, it's nearly 5:00 so I should end this here for now. |

| So, question for those with both DDRMAX and DDRMAX2 for PS2: Foot-for-foot, are the songs in MAX harder than those in MAX2? Or am I just more familiar with the MAX2 stuff (I can past most of the 9s in MAX2--yeah, with Cs and Ds, but I pass them nonetheless--yet the 9s and even some 8s in MAX completely own me for whatever reason)? Weird. |

| Question: Is it considered canon to use the bar when playing Max 300 or The Legend of Max (or any max song, for that matter)? I tried it using the bar last night and suddenly it was so much easier than using just my feet. But I use my feet alone for just about every other song. Do you guys consider it a real pass if someone passes a song while holding the bar? | |||

End of the Century deserves to be a 9. KCET, I find, is still rather 8-ish. If anything, Paranoia Max ~Dirty Mix~ should be the 9. Genom Screams double: NOT A TEN. It is not hard at all. It's just a little chaotic at the beginning. After it's just easy9/hard8. The song after Genom on doubles is rather 10 worthy. Gentle Stress on Doubles is VERY twisty! I sprained my ankle about three months ago because I fell and hit a metal corner. Remember the steps for Paranoia Eternal? It was a good 9 due to the constant 1 arrow tapping. Konami changed the steps to make Paranoia Bros. less difficult (This is the Oni course with Survivor and Survivor Max). Finally, I believe MAX is harder (Maxx still harder than Max). I find this due that 90% of MAX's songs are harder. Plus, MAX has Oni and MAX2 has Nonstop (Of course, MAX never had Max300 on heavy for an Oni Course). And Nonstop did have unlimited, plus custom Nonstop where I could play Maxx 20 times as the ultimate stamina tester. Or was endless more staminal? If MAX2 had Oni, I would find it harder. I can't use the bar, and that's what makes me want to be better, to make all those bar huggers (my friends call them bar rapers) cry their way home when their mom picks them up around 10:05 Friday Night. You see a vid of soneone gettting an AAA on Max 300. Their so happy because they completed a difficult task. Do it without the bar for a real challenge. The only time I don't mind people using the bar is if they want to get to the end of a song so they can eventually not use the bar. NEVER use the bar in Oni or Nonstop. This is supposed to be the challenge. Don't play if you're after a high score. Your best isn't your best if it could be harder. NEVER EVER use the bar in versus. Every tournie I've been to or held, the manager of the arcade (usually the one who held the tournies) would actually take the bar off. Go for the hardest challenge ever to be the best. |

| I can't really use bar either. I'm too used to not using it with home/soft regardless so I really haven't tried it other than the first time that I ever played on pad and I was clinging to it for dear life because a n00b tried to initiate himself with HVAM Light. | |||
