MAX - Whoa, most of those 9 footers are tough ones. The easiest ones being Electro Tuned and Matsuri Japan.

Try the Paranoias, tough 8 footers that could pass as easy 9s.

MAX2 - I suppose Twilight Zone is the easiest 9 footer on here but only after you've mastered it, otherwise you have your work cut out for you.

Ehhh...Twilight Zone still has issues for my fat ass. TSUGARU is much easier, in my opinion, on MAX2. Even though it has gallops, it's relatively easy after you've done it a couple of times.

Vanity Angel on MAX2 is another...if you're looking at 9s on MAX...HVAM will seriously destroy you.

Well, I actually passed two 9s yesterday, though I don't know what the actual difficulty settings on the memory card used were, given that I didn't use my own.

Paranoia KCET with a C, and Xenon (barely) with a big fat D. But I'll take both of those and walk off happy.

Both on MAX2 if you couldn't tell.

Yay me. *Dances in his uniquely white guy fashion*

Who would've thought I'd have to wait until 3:00 to even open Firefox today I got caught with it open twice on Friday, and as such, Michele was watching me like a hawk during the Mother Daughter Walk meeting. Anyways, she's gone to the bank now, so I've got an opportunity to post the results I've got from over the weekend. Unfortunately, I can no longer give pictures. I can't bring my external hard drive in here anymore, and I don't have enough disks to bring in all of the screens. I hope you don't mind text results until sometime during the summer, when they're gone away on vacation

Instead of posting the text directly into this thread, I've used Frontpage (I didn't want to type the HTML out by hand) to make up a nicely formatted page that will contain all the results I take screenshots of. I have a feeling there will be a few complaints about the font I used, so if I get enough, I will change it to something bigger. Without further delay, said page can be found here. As the first paragraph says, download the font if you don't already have it (the full name is "Acknowledge -BRK-"). Otherwise, the alignment of the various numbers will likely be off.

Now, my sister had a couple of her friends over for Thanksgiving dinner a couple days ago, and I got them both to try a song on StepMania. Both were only a 1 in terms of difficulty, as well as them both coming from the original song folders. I don't remember the exact names, but I'll say this much. The first person managed to pass the song, although with a "D". I can't remember what result the second person got, but I actually think they didn't even manage to pass the song. I really shouldn't be making fun of them, as I was probably just as bad as they are now back when I started playing the game, but it was still funny to watch them play, and go into a panic when they had to press two arrows at once.

That's about all I have to say right now, which is less than I thought I would, but I suppose not posting links to various screens is responsible for that. For now though, this is it

Okay, rather large heads up for people:

As you've probably counted, if I haven't pointed out clearly enough each time I send one out, I'm getting up to #100. #99 I have an idea on. It's either going to be Sora Mimi Cake (not TV sized) or Little Mac's Confession (uncut). I was initially planning on doing One Winged Angel from the FF7 AC OST, but I discovered that whoever ripped it didn't do a very good job. It has an instance or two when it skips. It would've made for a good 60-240 song even though it's 6 minutes long.

Anyways, that's not the main point of this post. Point two is that I'm going to be working on moving to a new place over the next few weeks. I'm slated out of my old apartment effective the weekend of October 28. That should probably kick any high-speed connection that I have out of the works, for starters, and at the same time these next few weeks are probably going to be concentrated towards getting stuff packed up and moved to the new place. It's probably going to start as early as tomorrow for the major stuff; most of the small stuff has already been moved.

This leads up, of course, to project 100. As some might recall, I planned on doing a major project for it. Yes, I still intend to do what I initially planned, that being DDR 4th Nonstop Megamix. It's approximately 65 minutes and it consists of 49 songs. It'll be about the same plight as trying to sim 49 small files all at once, so you can tell that this is going to take a lot of time and effort. The initial planning has been done for over a month now, but now I've got to start getting to work on some of the beginning work of splicing the whole thing and getting BPMs for each song, since I'm pretty sure that not all of the files are going to be exactly the same as the original; DDR Nonstop is known for being a few BPMs difference in some of their songs. This is very critical, especially in a file so large because even .01 BPM off in the entire thing will probably lead to it being off by a second or so at the very end. The only file I expect to have an issue with in the whole mix is SAINTS GO MARCHING IN and that seems to be on the same scope as the original. If you've never played it, it starts slow and progressively works up. I would expect that to be the only issue. I do plan on BG changes and a toss in of an LRC file like DDREX NSMM did. That shouldn't be an issue.

The issue is going to be time. I'm not exactly sure how fast I'm going to be able to get this done. As it stands, I'm dealing with this as a solo project and I intend to go through with it all. But, the concept of taking on that many songs all compressed into one and making sure that the whole thing adds up into a coherent stepfile is going to be tricky at best. Add in the fact that I have to get ready to move and the fact that I'll probably be expending some added time in college as of late (if you've heard, I've been bombing Calc) I will more than likely be holding off sim releases after this next one until I get #100 done. When it will be done, I'm not too sure. I was planning on getting 99 done this weekend and starting the groundwork to get #100 off the ground and finishing up around Halloween or so but adding in everything all told, I'm not too sure how things are going to fly.

I'll probably get some updates in this thread about how things are progressing, since I doubt very seriously I will want to kill myself by trying to sync up the whole file all in a day or two. I will have one major dilemma of finding where I'm going to put this, however. It should be no secret that this file is going to be of high size. I expect no less than 50 megs ZIPped. The places where I put up files won't tolerate this much, so I'm going to probably need some help in where to put this. I have at least one suggestion so far, but it's bandwidth is capped at 20K/sec...so it'd take even the best connections about a half hour or so to get the file at completion. If anyone has a better option, please mention it here, because I'd rather like to have a way that everyone can get this in a better fashion.

That should be all. Oh, Ziff, no. But passing Challenge respectably and I may consider making even worse. I've still yet to see anyone attack 53 and pass it on Oni yet.

OPA!

And I managed to do Max 300 heavy on the weekend

I've done it before, but on flakey home version. Not on big arcade machine.

I got a C, almost a B.

My accomplishments from playing this game over the weekend include things such as finally being able to pass Cynic (albeit with a C), getting an AA on the Nonstop Megamix, nearly getting a 1000 combo on Zelda Megamix (although I didn't update the list to show that) and others.

As such, my list of scores has been updated, and although it's in the same place as before, here's a link to the page. I changed the cellpadding value for the table cells, so now there'll be a bit of space between the cell border and the text, which makes things a bit more readable (at least for me).

That's actually all I can say right now, as it's nearly 5:00 here (at least according to the other volunteer that's in today), and that's when I head home

Fu-huck You. Cynic fucking blows. Hard. The goddamn jacks make that song zero fun at all.

Music rocks though.

If you're going to play that by Skor...fuck...try finding K8107 by him or better yet, do yourself a favor and go get Battle AX and get owned. Hard.

Ouch. The only reason I even mentioned that was because I was glad I managed to pass the song I realize how hard it is as well, especially seeing as I nearly died about two thirds of the way through it As for K8107, if you're talking about the one in the Keyboard Megapack, I've already tried it a couple times, and died a short time into the song. I will give it another try tonight though, and see if I can do any better I can't say I've ever heard of Battle AX, but if I can find it, and it's not too big (I only have 3 floppies to take stuff home on right now), I'll give it a try as well.

I don't know if it's the "right" version of the song, but I do have one called "Jack" in the Keyboard Megapack, by DesQ. I actually already managed to get a "B" on it (check the results beneath the line on my page of results for it), but as with what I said about K8107 above, it can't hurt to give it another try

It was a matter of the steps blew, in my opinion.

As for Battle AX, I would link, but apparently the site was down [checks again] nope...

The runner-up link is http://www.cmcmoriginals.com/ which links to REN's site, but apparently that's down. REN basically has the ubers of the crowd. I'm impressed that I passed HIGH on Heavy with as high a DP as it has (2100 or so). Battle AX is supreme, but apparently that's not an option...hmm...

Tell you what, I'm ULing shit anyways and I don't think you should be the ONLY one getting it...[ULs it]...

Okay, grab it here. I guess this'll be a quick fix for my lack of a sim this week. Everyone should see it.

Additionally:

Ain't it great? XD

EDIT: Opened up PSMO:

[16:26] Hiryuu: oh
[16:26] Hiryuu: and I tried it at 1.5x

*Sigh* Another impossible one.
Where can I download the previous DDR Non-Stop Megamixes?

Finally beat Max 400 on Standard. Got a B on that one.
And I've AA'd Cool City on Heavy. Havn't beaten it on Challenge yet.

Actually, it's not impossible...it's just very very VERY hard.

And as for DDREX NSMM, I'm not really sure. The link for it died after about a week. You'd have to ask anyone here willing to put up 40 megs of UL time for you (since it's that big or so).

That settles things. I really have to start thinking about bringing in my external hard drive anyways, and just hooking it up once Michele and Janice are gone I can still download things throughout the day, so the only real change will be that I'll copy them all at once at the end of the day.

Anyways, I gave both K8107 and Jack another try last night, among other songs. I managed to bring my result up to an A on Jack, but didn't even manage to pass K8107 I can get through the first part where it seems to get quicker, but the second is the death of me

As for other results, I finally managed to make it through Salieri Strikes Back on Heavy, with a B, Powerbook Fiend on Heavy as well, with a C (it's actually pretty difficult), and others that I can't remember right now. I'm not able to updatae my list today though, as I didn't bring the new one in, so I'll try to have it updated tomorrow. As of right now though, I've been typing this post for about an hour, and I have to leave at 2:30 today, so for now, that's it

No I didn't. I do have it downloaded, but I have to wait until tomorrow (I hope) to be able to bring it home. I was hoping to be able to bring in my hard drive today, but I ended up going grocery shopping with my Mom, and by the time we got done, it was just more convenient for her to drop me off at Heart and Stroke for the afternoon, and I'd planned to stop home to grab the thing first I could use floppy disks, as I have five of them, two of which I suspect are about to stop working completely, although they still work for small files. It's easy enough using Winzip to span the file on multiple disks (just change the extension so Winzip doesn't recognize it as being a zip file), but there's a good chance of encountering an error of whatever sort trying to extract the file.

As for my list of results, I'm thinking about just updating the thing on the weekend, instead of whenever I get done playing StepMania. I have so far, and I think it'd look a lot better not having one table contain over 30 result cells, and another containing less than 10 Time will tell how that goes though.

When it comes to progress / results on songs, the only thing I have to mention today is that I can now make it about two minutes (it seems like it, but I'm not sure how long the song actually is) into the song without dying.

That's about all I have to say though, so for now, that's it. Note that I wasn't able to update my list today either, as I didn't get a chance to go back home after grocery shopping

Edit: Changed all of 4 words
