I know what you mean I can make it through Standard, but not Heavy or Challenge. The first time I tried the latter difficulty, I ended up turning on AutoPlay fairly early. I thought you were actually expected to be able to hit a good majority of the arrows at a later point in the song (the part where it freezes, then has every arrow up to 64ths in sets of four after the freeze) but saw that it somehow skipped that part. Either way, the rest of the song is hard enough on it's own. It's still fun letting people try it that've never played StepMania before though. I opened the song for editing, so my friend could try it without having to worry about dying, and all I can say is that it seemed as if he didn't care what arrows he had to hit. He just tapped all four at the same time as fast as possible, which didn't do much good

42? I thought 20 in the above song was bad I've never even heard of the song, but I must say nice work even getting a C, if it's that difficult. As for the rest of your post, good work once again. I'm having trouble enough even trying to get an AAA.

Anyways, here's the results of what I played over the weekend.

:: Summer, Challenge, 1.5x
:: Piano Concerto No. 9, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Estella, Heavy, 1.5x
:: DDR Extreme Nonstop Megamix, Heavy, 1.5x
:: The Impossible Song, Beginner, 0.75x

There's nothing really special about the nonstop megamix screenshot, but it's the first song I ever managed to get a combo of 1000 in. I actually had to play through the song twice though. The first time I did it, I managed to get up to and over 1000 twice, but I opened the most recent screenshot I had of it when I'd finished the song, at which point the computer started acting up. The sound in StepMania was extremely jittery, and the mouse cursor would only move every minute or so, and only for a couple seconds. As a result of that, I had to restart the computer without taking a screenshot of my result, then tried the song again later on, and managed to get over 1000 again.

As for The Impossible Song, yes, it's on beginner, but I figure the best way to go about getting better at it is to start at the lowest difficulty, and work up from there

I started playing Neverwinter Nights again as well over the weekend, which is why I only have 5 screens. That's still better than none though

Anything above 15 is particularly ridiculous. Reach's Gigadelic is an 18 on hardest difficulty, which is probably the hardest legit file I know of, but it seems rather ambiguous labeling files with a certain difficulty past 15. Even my Impossible Song II is labeled a 16 when I know it probably doesn't matter anyways.

EDIT: And on Impossible Song, I believe DD said that he beat 2 on .3xRate. That would be the first and only person that I know who's done that. Ace hasn't even done that and he beat Impossible Song like that, though he came close the first couple of times through. 4000 steps in 2:22 isn't really easy.

Anything above Light on either difficulty is tough, Heavy is just plain nuts (and usually not in a good way).

EDIT 2: Just got more info on the tracks going into EX2. SAKURA is 99% assured, since it's on V-Rare and I'm getting reports that it is going to be on there with a SHITLOAD of good songs. Source: BMS.

EDIT 3: Still more. On the topic of DDR STR!KE, here's a shot of what to expect.

I forget how I found it now, but I remember seeing a screenshot of Acmlm's result on the first one. I don't remember what modifiers he had on (if any at all), but it sure seemed impossible for what he was playing it at I never would've thought he'd be into this sort of game though.

As for screenshots, I didn't have any yesterday, as I watched Advent Children the previous night (although I still can't get the subtitles to work), and went straight to bed after that I got "B" on most of the songs I tried last night, but I figure it can't hurt to post them

:: Delirium, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Presto, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Since 1983, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Turkey March, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Dogura, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Geno's Woods, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Carezza, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Pump me Up Amadeus, Heavy, 1.5x

I'm getting quite tired of typing "Heavy, 1.5x" now There's nothing really special to comment on in any of those screenshots though, so I'll leave it at that. The only interesting thing to note is that while writing this post, I made two more elsewhere on the board, and created a flyer for Michele

That's about all for now though

Ought to try Holic, while you're at it, or are you playing on MAX2 (in that case, VANITY ANGEL or Radical Faith)?

Ought to see if you can find Can't Stop Falling in Love Speed Mix. That'll kick your ass.

You do that...or die at MAXX Unlimited.

'Done with the credits, Release date around 7:00 Am central tomorrow. I'll make a new topic with the link.'

For the one thing that I was submitting sims to, the whole pack will be released early tomorrow. You guys probably have the three I sent in, but if not, I'll link you guys to it tomorrow. Check BMS, DDR Simulation for details under Super Simfile Pack.

I got a C+ on Pandemonium at the local ITG2 machine.

And I managed to get an A on Matsuri Japan.

I *think* I managed to get to the second slow down on PSMO.

It's out.

Couple of things, though. Pack is over 100MB and the transfer rate will probably not exceed 20K/sec (unless you're a MegaUpload Premium, then nm) so it'll more than likely take you an hour and a half to get this all. Three of the files are mine, so you'll probably have them already, but in case you missed out, they're here. 23 files total. Ranges anywhere from 1-footers to 12s.

Additionally, if you get lost trying to find the DL link, wait for a minute for the one ad to load, then get rid of it, the DL link will be where the 'Wait xx seconds' is.

EDIT: Okay...I've come to the conclusion that the majority of the pack SUCKS hardcore...oh well, at least I know I'm as good as I think I am now...seriously, most of these are really bad. They're either off-sync or just plain crappy.

Anyways, got a few scores to show off in this edit:

- Raspberry Heaven, Oni
- Healing Vision RMX, Oni <-- That\'ll kill you for the score.
- neoMAX (Full Version), Oni
- Electronik, Heavy
- 13, Oni
- The legend of SAKURA, Heavy
- 290, Heavy <-- Just...owch...
- HIGH, Oni <-- Absolute hell.
- Dogura, Heavy <-- Could be better.
- PARANOiA =iNSANiTY= MAX, Oni
- MaxX_Wizard, Heavy <-- Pain.
- MAX 340, Heavy <-- Again, could be better.
- MAX -Absolution- (Speed Mix), Heavy <-- Torture.

That\'s pretty much it. I failed Satan's Theme; my fingers gave out once again. I came EXCEEDINGLY close though...like, ten seconds from the end close. Least I have a positive DP on it.

EDITED for oddness in CSS.

EDIT 2: Speaking of kicking Satan's Theme's ass:

All I can say is: Challenge is a destroyer.

I figured I'd just quote your post, since it's pretty long, even though it's right above this one There's only one thing I want to say something about in it anyways.

I found worst for that was Space Flight. The beginning for the most part Move Your Dead Bones seemed a bit off sync near the end as well (especially how the last four arrows aren't even on the beat) but it wasn't nearly as bad as Space Flight.

Anyways, it should be fairly obvious which song group I've got the most result screens from today Not to say that they're all from the same group, but most of them are. I should also note that I'm going to try to list them in alphabetical order from now on, because that's the order they get uploaded in. Try to ignore the long filenames as well. I changed them so the format it "song name; difficulty, modifiers". It just so happens that ImageShack removes the spaces, semicolons, and commas.

:: Artifical Intelligence Bomb; Heavy, 1.5x
:: Fly Away ~Visa Original Hardcore Mix~; Challenge, 1.5x
:: Go *60* Go; Challenge, 1.5x
:: Helena; Challenge, 1.5x
:: I Sawed the Demons; Challenge, 1.5x
:: MAX 340; Heavy
:: Move Your Dead Bones; Heavy, 1.5x
:: My Console; Challenge, 1.5x
:: Reproaches; Heavy, 1.5x
:: Rislim -DROP OUT Style-; Challenge, 1.5x
:: Run For It; Challenge, 1.5x
:: Space Flight; Heavy, 1.5x
:: Super Mario Bros. Dirty Mix; Heavy, 1.5x
:: The Dark Tower of Abyss; Heavy, 1.5x
:: The Impossible Song; Light, 0.75x
:: Xuxa; Heavy, 1.5x
:: Zelda Dungeon Remix; Heavy, 1.5x

The only one that sticks out as unusual is "Move Your Dead Bones", simply because of the parts where you're required to press three or more arrows at once As I've said a couple times before, the keyboard I have can take three arrow presses, but only in certain patterns (such as left, down, right). I found out that the keyboard that's sitting on top of the cabinet can handle all four arrows being pressed at once. The only problems now are the arrangement of the arrows on the keyboard, and the fact that I'm not used to pressing more than two arrows at once.

Some of those results could have been a bit better, but I didn't get a chance to play StepMania (or use the computer at all) for the whole of Saturday, as we were in Wingham I still think those are pretty good though, even if the songs aren't the best

Finally going to ask what type of DDR you guys are talking about. Heard some people talking about using a pad, too. I've never tried dancing to these games, but rather just using a controller.

I have DDR 5th Remix (J) for PSX (ePSXe emulation), and I think I'd put up a pretty good fight against you guys.
I've AA'd 35/47 songs on this game, and am pretty confident in my skills.

Here are the songs I've AA'd

(White - Song Name
Green - Artist
Red - Difficulty)

Remember you /NM feat. Julie 5
Translation - Odoru Ponpokorin Captain Jack 7
Translation - 17 Sai Bambee 6
Dancing All Alone /Smile.dk 7
Swing It /Bus Stop 6
Test My Best /E-Rotic 7
Right Now /Atomic Kitten 6
The Twist (Double Pump Mix) /Liberty All Staz 7
Be Together /Ni-Ni 7
Movin On (Extended Moon Mix) /Ellen Gee 8
Translation - Romansu No Kamisama /Judy Crystal 9
Never Ending Story /DJ-AC-AD 7
Healing Vision /De-Sire 8
My Generation (Fat Beat Mix) /Captain Jack 6
Moonlight Shadow (New Vocal Version) /Missing Heart 6
*Long Version* Dynamite Rave /Naoki 8
Dive [green[/Be For U 8
Broken My Heart /Naoki feat. Paula Terry 9
Still In My Heart /Naoki 7
Ecstasy /D-Complex 7
Afronova Primeval /8-Bit 9
Can't Stop Fallin' In Love (Speed Mix) /Naoki 9
Paranoia Eternal /STM 200 9
The Centre Of The Heart (Strongbridge Clubmix) /Roxette 1
Nori Nori Nori /Judi Crystal 2
Look To The Sky /System S.F. feat. Anna 6
Dive *more deep&deeper style* /Be For U 7
Healing Vision *Angelic Mix* /2MB 9
Abyss /dj Taka 7
Mr. T. (Take me Higher) /Risky Men feat. Asuka M 7
I Was The One /Good-Cool 7
Absolute /dj Taka 8
The Cube /DJ Suwami 7
DXY ! /TaQ 8

Whew! That took forever.
Okay, so what proggy are you guys using, and is it free?

That's not too bad. You'd be a bit above Colleen's level at least if you can AA on control.

As from program, you'd be better off with StepMania. However, that, like most emulators, is what runs it. You'll need to get the simfile packs (which are discussed thoroughly throughout this thread) and put them in the Songs directory of the program under some sort of group.

So...Songs/1st Mix was created and you'd put the simpack Butterfly in it.

Anyways, to get some of the simfiles, try:

http://www.ddruk.com <-- for official, torrents.
FFR sims <-- Not too bad, but a few sims that aren't necessarily from the original.

I would post BMS, but it's simfile database is currently down. I usually post one sim a week that I get done with. DD is sparse on his updates, but he posts some too.

Other than that, pretty much go for broke and see what you can do with that stuff.

I never even thought of finding an ISO of one of those games It'd certainly be different trying to play the game with a controller as opposed to a pad / keyboard, but there's not alot to complain about as long as it works As Prier said, you should take a look at StepMania, but chances are it'll be a significant switch to go from using a controller to play the game, to using a keyboard. That's not to say it's a bad idea. You'll have many more songs to choose from (provided you download them), and you may even be able to play the game better using the keyboard, with a bit of practice

I know I found a link that led to a group page (or whatever they're called) on LiveJournal some time back, and there were a decent number of links to sites where you could download simfiles, but I can't find it now The two sites Prier linked to should hold you over until Bemanistyle is back in full.

Now I've got a question. What exactly are the differences between the two scoring systems in StepMania? I realize that may be a question that can't be answered without a long explanation, so if there's a site that has that information that you can provide a link to, it'd be appreciated. I tried searching with google, and didn't find anything relevant, so I figured I'd ask in here I haven't switched that option at all, if it makes any difference.

As for screenshots today, I have none, which could be considered a good thing, seeing as the computer I'm on isn't the fastest here, and any resolution above 800x600 won't display properly I did give Cool City a try (yes, on Challenge), and I can make it about a minute into the song That's better than nothing though.

On a closing note, I haven't worked on the song I'm doing (well, steps actually) in quite a while, although according to what I was told today, I might not be able to come in on Thursday and Friday, so I'll try to get it done before the end of September. I never thought it'd take this long to get it done

So, anyone have EX2? I don't, was just curious as to what others thought of it.

Also note that I've never played EX1.

Hiryuu: In the Navy '99 is also a MAX2 8-footer which I passed today. It's nice that I'm still improving at this whole pad thing, if nothing else...

Also, not that I have a USB converter or anything for my pad, but besides you, are there any people/sites/etc that cater to Stepmania pad players? I get the impression that a lot of the simfiles are mainly for keyboarders, some of which are literally impossible to do on pad (Excepting obvious things like, erm, "the impossible song ".
