#94. Oddly enough, though, I wanted to make this #1 a loooooooong ass time ago.

EDIT: Also: Beat that.

A freeze roll is a new type of arrow that looks like a spiky freeze. You have to hit that arrow every 0.3 ms I believe it was.

There's nothing of that sort in the song at all It could be that it is in the .sm file, and that StepMania simply doesn't know what to do with it yet, and thus skips over that arrow, which makes the most sense.

Anyways, I'm amazed at how much easier changing the first modifier to 1.5x can make some songs. That's evidenced in a few of the screenshots I have today. 12 of them as well

:: Grand Prix, Challenge, 1.5x
:: Coconut, Challenge, 1.5x
:: Assault of the Silver Dragons, Challenge, 1.5x
:: Summer, Challenge, 1.5x
:: LAB v2, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Snow, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Star Field, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Classic 8, Heavy, 1.5x
:: M, Heavy, 1.5x
:: We Know What to Do, Challenge
:: J219, Challenge
:: PARANOiA =iNSANiTY= MAX, Challenge

All "A" or lower, but still pretty good, considering that I used to find those songs next to impossible (especially "M"). Needless to say, later on in the afternoon on Sunday, my arms started to ache I didn't do all of the above in one day or anything, but it still didn't help that I went right from getting out of bed to playing StepMania

As should be obvious by the banner, the version of J219 above isn't DahrkDaiz's. This one had movies in the background and all, including one of spinning gears, that looked to me like it'd fit better in either version of "Drop the Bomb"

When it comes to the low result on "Summer", that's another one where I'm glad I can just make it through the song. It's rated a 13, which I have a feeling is based mostly on the two 16th runs in the song That's not nearly as bad as "Robotix" though. It's only 11 or 12, but near the middle of the song, the BPM keeps speeding up, until it's over 1000 The arrows during that section are just simple left-right-left-right, and they stay at a consistent speed throughout it, but when you see how fast the arrows (and mines) are going by, you think you have to press them extremely quickly

I was hoping to be able to get through "Salieri Strikes Back", as I can make it about two thirds of the way through the song now, but the last third is the death of me

Either way, I'm happy with those results, considering most of them are from songs I wasn't able to do before

Okay, two bits of information for everyone today after my daily scout routine.

First off, BMS is partially back online after a month drop out of service. The only real thing on there is the forum itself, so I wouldn't expect many to go there unless you want to brag on another forum or whatever. ETA for the re-launch is still unknown, but they do plan on launching 7.0 when they come back up. As such, all of the files that I have on there are practically shot, because at the launch of 7.0 they will do a basic board wipe. The forum there has already been wiped (I snagged ID 6, better than 30966 or whatever).

The good news, however, FlashFlashRevolution launched their simfile database recently. It still requires login and I can't UL files more than 5MB, but it gives me something to go on, at the very least. I've already posted the six that BMS haven't had and a few of the popular ones there already.

So, you may find that you'll want to get used to the FFR place a bit more than BMS for the time being, just to mention it. That's all for now.

I just registered as well It can't hurt to get that out of the way as soon as possible. Even though the forum is the only thing that's back up right now, that's still progress, which is good to see. As for FFR's simfile database being up now, I find that to be quite a surprise, as I never saw anything about that Still, I see a few files in that list that look interesting (especially the "100 Sec. Kitchen Battle!!"), so at least I'll have more songs to try tonight.

What would be interesting to see is if the simfiles that were uploaded there were made to be playable in the flash game, but they're fine the way they are. It's a pity this keyboard makes such a racket though. Otherwise, I'd actually be able to play the game.

As for screens, I have none today. There are some at home that are new, but I didn't have enough time to put them on my hard drive today. The only one I remember doing good on was "Era - Grand Blue Outset Mix" on Challenge. I managed to finally get an "A" on it.

The keyboard I use to play the game is getting quite close to being busted as well The left and right arrows are stuck about halfway pressed down, so just nudging one will be enough for the computer to register a key being pressed. Same thing goes for the "D", but that's from ZSNES, and a couple other emulators. It still works though, and there's another keyboard that's used for normal typing and the like, so for the time being, it's still usable.

Now it's time to get downloading

I had "October" in the "When is BMS finally going to be back up again" pool, so I was a bit off.

Poor Hiryuu when it comes time to re-upload the database. Might as well start with the most recent stuff and work backwards.

Oh I won't be able to UL all of them for a good few weeks. They have a 5 per day policy on BMS that won't change apparently when it's back up.

It'll take you two and a half weeks, give or take.

Would be nice if they let profiled people upload a bit more in preparation, but... :\ Can't be helped I suppose.

Well, FFR got 25 of mine already.

I think they like them too. Except for some reject that's rating all the files 9s (not just mine either) and some reject that rated MAX Rock Trillogy and PIM 1s, there isn't a problem with any of them by them apparently.

EDIT: There exists worse than Reality now...

He says that's the hardest song he'll ever make, but as is obvious, he said the same thing about Reality I can't help but wonder how long it'll be until he thinks of another song that could be even more difficult, if that happens, that is The hardest song (made by anyone) I've got isn't Reality though. PARANOiA Evil is rated 20 on Challenge (I believe that's the difficulty), but I do know Prier / Hiryuu made a comment on that song, mainly about the insane difficulty sometime before Bemanistyle went down.

As far as having a lot of simfiles to upload, and only being able to upload 5 at a time when Bemanistyle is back up, consider yourself lucky that you only have 94. The people that have made 100 or over will definitely have a bit of work ahead of them

Now I've got another question. On the song selection screen, do the button combinations to turn on / change various modifiers serve any purpose other than to save you having to go through the two options menus? I know I've ended up pressing left and right repeatedly a couple times too many before, and it turned on "Drunk" It'd be nice to know if there's a way to turn all the modifiers off without having to go through the menus, as it gets frustrating after a while

Anyways, screens. 10 of them today, but that's what happens when I forget to bring them in one day

:: Era: Grand Blue Outset Mix, Challenge, 1.5x
:: Healing Vision RMX, Challenge, 1.5x
:: Innocent Walls, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Robotix, Challenge, 1.5x
:: 100 Sec. Kitchen Battle!!, Challenge, 1.5x
:: Untitled Gabber Song, Heavy, 1.5x
:: Utopia, Heavy, 1.5x
:: V, Heavy, 1.5x
:: My Life is so Crazy, Challenge
:: Hispanic Panic, Challenge

I finally managed to get an "A" on "Delirium" by DukAmok last night. Only on heavy, but still quite an accomplishment if you ask me. I also gave "The Glass Prison" a try, and managed to get about halfway through it. Not too bad

Well since BMS is dead as far as their sim database goes, I'll be re-doing some of them with better graphics and better stepcharts (not all will change) and better organize my mixes like Hiryuu does.

DDR Ex2: er well I dunno, this may be the only other home mix I get but I really hope this isn't a flop like Ex1 was. Interestingly enough, Japan's getting a DDR called "DDR Str!ke" (or Strike). Official Extreme machines have decors that says "we're starting over" so could this be the next big DDR we've been waiting for? Honestly, Roxor has mutiliated the 4 panel game and is really only for hardcore players, but I'm sorry, being forced to use the bar is not cool. Maybe Konami will bring it back with something innovative and fresh.

It was insane as in it sucked royal ass. The damn thing had 4-hands all the way through the file. It wasn't a file, it was an abomination.

Anyone know if there will be any ten footers on DDREX2? Konami of America seems to have a phobia of giving out something hard to its fellow Americans... but I'm Mexican.

Anyways, I think there are a few ones that I'm going to be in the mood of redoing quite soon, so I might just put off making some new ones for a bit so I can get around to them. One in particular, though, I probably won't do more than one stage on, but it will be from scratch as well.

1. I refuse to play until I can get an adapter for my DDR pad. When I play, I sweat.

2. This is my friends computer. I don't have internet but like a saint he lets me use it for an hour or so.

I still keyboard ALOT! But if I compete with the world then I want to go fairly with pad. The only time I keyboard is if I like a song, I want to learn a step file on stealth (Max 300, Maxx Unlimited, Legend of Max, Afronova, and Twilight Zone), I want to play those "uber" songs*, or I want AAAA's. I've gotten so many AAA's and AAAA's that I finally downloaded the Ridiculous Timing!!!!. I should post some of my high socres.

*Songs I may never pass on pad but rock on keyboard
-Maxxximum: AAA
-HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING: 14 greats
-Maxx Attaxx: AAA (one of my favorite songs ever!)
-Max Absolution Super Speed Mix: AAA
-Paranoia Survivor XXXimum: 1 Great
-Badger Oni: C (It's a freakin 42 footer)

I MUST give some pics.
