Riviera -- another superb RPG from Atlus; storyline is pretty interesting and the battle system is different than other RPGs. Music is great but if you aren't into RPGs then maybe not.

I picked up Megaman Battle Network 5 and Fire Emblem, but those are more RPG games. Although Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones plays similarly to Advance Wars if you liked that.

I ran out of money in the beginning of the summer and won't be getting any until I get my first report card in the new school year. I do want some games like Meteos for the DS. I'll also try to get Tales of Symphonia, I need to get another RPG game.

Whoops, I forgot to finish Metroid Prime: 2. The last time I played it was in January but haven't played since because my dad took my TV to replace the TV that was in the living room but it died so that's why he took it and the only TV I had left was a TV that was bought in the year 1986. Surprisingly, it can play PS2 or the Gamecube but only if the systems are connected to a VCR. I wonder if it'll does this with the Nintendo Revolution. The reason that I don't play on the old TV that much is that the brightness thing almost never works and it screws up some of the colors.

I have a question about Riviera, for you, or anyone else that can answer it. I read in Priere's thread in the RPG Discussion Center that to pretty much to anything in the game, you need TP. Is TP consumed in battle as well? I know you get some from battles, but I think it'd be kind of hard to progress through the game if you kept running out of TP

As for Battle Network 5, I finally bought two of the games, instead of downloading them Team of Protoman and Colonel, for those that are curious. I'm up to the second liberate mission in Team Protoman right now, and still going through the Main Computer in Team Colonel. I actually have a question about these games as well. Is it possible to collect all the chips without having to trade between games? I mainly want to know, because it would be nice to be able to get past the gold program in the undernet without having to buy the stuff necessary to trade between the games (I play the game on my DS, if you're wondering).

I'm thinking about going up to Zellers tonight to get Smash Bros. Melee (no, I don't have it yet). I was going to this morning, but decided to get the last copy of Megaman Anniversary Collection (that was at EB Games, though). Looking back now, I can't believe how many games I've purchased in the past month (nearly $500) Well, as long as I have enough to get Twilight Princess, and a Revolution, it doesn't seem as bad.

If I'm not mistaken, you do not TP for game critical "looks" -- for example, in chapter 3 (i think), you can get "lost". There are four areas in this lost section with one sign in each. If you had only 3 TP when you entered here and each sign cost one, well...you'd be in trouble. So, I believe anything that is game critical, it will not require TP to look.

As for getting all the chips...i don't see much of a reason why you make two version of the game if there aren't chips exclusive to one of the games. So, with 99% confidence, i believe you cannot get all the chips without trading between both games.

If you want to do well in ranking with each chapter, you'd better know how to conserve TP at the same time. There are places where it's better not to use TP but some aren't as obvious as others.

Personally, I usually max out the gauge often with each chapter anyways. I've hit AAS and SAB for later chapters.

So in playing my new ripoff since they released it 3 or so other times with other games on the system port of Metroid, I discovered 2 things:

1. It's MUCH more fun when you map it out on your own, 80s style. Now I see why it spawned 8 million sequels.

2. Kraid's theme is the overcovered to hell one (Heck, I've done it), but for sheer evocaiton of tension as you go through the game, particularly if you're mapping it yourself, Ridley's theme may be the best music in the game.

Oh, the Metroid music was great for its time and still holds up today. No question.

Granted, I *kinda* know the general layout of Zebes thanks to Zero Mission and various run-throughs, but good luck finding everything without a map.

Bleh, Riviera sounds too complicated. I wish they could convert the Romancing Saga games to GBA. At least one of them.

When does the new Yoshi game for the GBA gets released?

Yoshi Topsy Turvy is out, at least here. Searching for "yoshi" on GameFAQs didn't give me any more GBA results besides that one, so unless Trapster knows something we don't, I'll assume that reference is to Yoshi Touch and Go for the DS, even though it's already been released, and obviosuly not for GBA

That makes sense, so I suppose it's good that I got an SP this morning. My brother got one last night, and I got a link cable as well, so I'll just have to complete both games the best I can, then persuade him to battle and trade chips between them

As for your answer to my question about Riviera, it's good to know that you'll likely be able to progress through the game, even if you do run out of TP in a certain area. I don't yet own the game (I haven't even looked for a ROM of it), but I'm getting closer to wanting to buy it.

Well I remembered where most of the important stuff was in Brinstar and Norfair, and the quick way to Kraid, but as far as Ridley goes, I was completely lost.

Well, not, since I mapped it out, but you know.

Riviera is NOT complicated at all. It's a very easy RPG system-wise, it can just get deep with all the different items/effects/etc.

It's not at all complicated.

It's actually meant to be played through multiple times. Each stage is given a score and ranking. There's an unlock where it shows high score and you can see the top five of each.

SAVE THE TREES. DO NOT WIPE YOUR ASS WITH TOILET PAPER.

Seriously, what kind of stupid acronym is TP. "This skill requires 10 toilet papers."

Because when you use a point, it TRIGGERS an action, hence the name.

First time through you'll probably use them all over the place, after that you'll get a good idea on what to use them on (chests, anything that boosts stats, unlockable areas, etc.)

Speaking of which, I'm in the middle of chapter 7 now and I need to finish that up when I get home tonight. I should have plenty of time to mess around until next week. Actually, after today, it'll be a nice breather after I get through this Chem exam.

Maybe then I might start having what's called a summer break.

I assume that those are for special attacks? I know games with BP too. So what RPG games would you guys call complicated battlesystem-wise?

That Yoshi games was named Yoshi's Gravity...and the rest I forgot. I better look it up.

Ah, Yoshi's Universal Gravitation. That was the name. Yep, it
