Well, it's like saying that Windows is from the 80's too.  Well, in a way it is. But it keeps getting updates. And the more I play it, the more do I like it. Althought it's so easy to die, it's almost silly. There is a graphical version, but I usually play the text one. I just like that one better.  |

| Nethack would probably hold the record for being one of the most continuously developed games ever, I would have to think. Really should re-download it, I haven't played it since I got my new PC... :\ Never can make it very deep in the dungeon anyways. Kitten Yiffer: The death thing IS the point. I've read diaries of people who get right to the end, it's like they take a minute or so to plan out EVERY move at that stage. |

| Well, I'm still been thinking on whether to come back to the board or not, but I have a lot of doubts about it right now. | Nethack hasn't changed it's gameplay ever, so... if it's not broke, why fix it? And the fact that everything's more or less randomly generated on startup... yeah... that's why it's been around forever and why the Nethack newsgroups are still quite popular on Usenet. |
