The quality of ZSNES' netplay has spoiled me.

The only problem with ZSNESnetplay is that it tends to completely freeze up if something goes bad (like the connection drops or whathaveyou) ... which has meant a few restarts for me

Not many programs can stand up to ZSNES's leet netplay, though, I'll give you that.

ZSNES netplay = mainly stable, odd hiccups, generally playable. Fun.
NES netplay = not stable at all, terribly slow, sync problems. Not fun.

FCE ultra works pretty well... over the network.

I hadn't tested it over the internet, but having a working netplay should be easier with NES than ZSNES, then ZSNES is one of the emulators that have been the most worked on it seems.

ZSNES has some nice quality... The only game I have ever seen screw up in netplay is SMW. For some reason, the synchronization on that game is bugged Hacks of it, however, play just fine for some reason.

I just wish they'd give 3+ player support... 5-player bomberman 5 with my friends over the internet would be godly fun.

Quite ironic that it would bug out on a game that was one of the first eh?

Still, I do think it's something in the orginal game that get's fixed with a ASM hack or something that SMW implents. Lunar magic do implent ASM hacks when you make some changes.

Kitten Yiffer: Well obviously. But what in the original code doesn't respond to the constant synchronization checks? That's my question.

Emptyeye: Now post a link to the video of your doing this. I'll watch it

Heh...well right now it's on VHS tape. I'll likely send it in to SDA and see what they do with it, and then from there have them forward it onto TG. I'll let you know when a link is up.

First make a copy of the tape. It'd suck if that were to get lost in the mail.

...and why did it get terminated?

Oddly, I thought you would stop with the first mix. But the fate was kinda diffrent...

I still have mine, but a few classmates probably lost it. They're like on 20% of the classes *rolleyes* and does nothing on the few ones they are on.

The alternative would be to simply wait until Christmas, when I should have a TV Tuner card. Then I could copy it to my computer.

Which would be the same thing, but it would be easier than doing it the manual way.

ALSO: Just played back the run and the time was 47:02. Weird, but consistent with some other people's findings (Some VCRs apparently lose about 10 seconds per hour of recording). O.o

Well, "gaining" in the sense of "getting slower" I guess.

Strangely, PS/PS2 games apparently playback FASTER than they were recorded. O.o

It SHOULD work well over a LAN because it's not like you're dealing with the complex nature of the Interweb.
