I must admit I didn't get it at first.

ALSO: Like my custom title? Can I throw a picture on there too as well, or will that make the board freak out?

You can put a pic there without any danger.

Your custom title kicks ass. Yes, you should throw in an animated .gif.

Hmm. Well, I was going to simply gank someone else's avatar off of another board...the problem is that it's a gray background, which would look rather ugly here.

Looks like I'll be doing some modifications to that.

EDIT: Okay, I know there was an option to make a transparent background in Paint...where did it go? Or was Microsoft stupid and took it out of Paint in XP? O.o

Not a huge deal, but still.

Just send it to someone who can make it transparent. That's what I do on the rare instances I'm not feeling incredibly lazy

Eh,I'm not gonna worry about it too much for now. Just annoys me a little that I could've sworn the option was there before, and now it's...just not.

Oh well, worse comes to worst, I can also just install Paint Shop or whatever program came with this comp.

Not like it's a huge animation anyway...four frames total.

I don't know if there was a gold Link to the Past... at least not in America.

(Trust me, I got it a few days after release. If it wasn't gold then...)

I think the gold only started up again with the N64 carts.

What about the GIMP? The interface might take some getting used to, but I like it, and for completely free image software, it is teh r0x.

Paint never supported GIF transparancy. Installing Photoshop, however, adds GIF and JPG support to the 98 Paint (and presumably all other versions), and it's not the shittyass dither GIF XP uses (eugh), the PS 98 Paint at least remaps colors.

I was going to say that Link's Awakening wasn't gold either.

In any event, I guess I was wrong about Paint. Maybe I was somehow thinking of the GIMP.

Gimp is... harder than PS. But I use The gimp at home. It's easy to tell that's it's ported from Linux but it's not really a problem for me.

The GUI could be odd for newbies, but as soon you gotten used to it... I only use photoshop in school where I can't use The gimp.

I use the GIMP...even though it's overkill for the stuff I need to do, which is ripping sprites from King's Quest games.

Yeah, I've used the GIMP before. It's pretty powerful, but obviously not designed for Windows. Hrmm.

But you gotta admit it works kinda well in Windows too eh?

A earlier version of GIMP was working even worser in Windows. So the Windows combitability is better now than the few first versions.

Someone should try to install in on Windows ME.

Double the trouble.

I think I actually did that long ago.

And yeah, it's powerful, but not the easiest of programs to use.

It will work in Win ME as any program in Win ME... I honestly never tried Win ME just you know.

The gimp is done after a account based OS thought, so well. It works better in the NT windows OS's than in the Win9x but should work fine in both. (the only diffrence between XP and 9x is... that XP is more around users. GIMP will place stuff in the user folders)
