| Oh. Well, yeah. But the game does seem to have more units too (although the APC appears to not exist? I haven't played Advance Wars yet, getting it soon). Do railways appear in the Advance games? There might be a translation but unlike the Fire Emblem games that have dialogue, plot and a whole heap o' crap going on, when you know how to play the Wars series that's pretty much all you need to know, once you've worked out the menus. |

| There is a strange vehicle that costs exactly 5000. It's an APC. Althought it dosen't look like one. And I do understand why they merged the supply truck (I name it after the ones in CnC since it looks so similar...) and the APC funcutlity. PRobalby they wanted to make it more useful. Intrestingly, when you go onboard an APC there is a small cutscene. The same when you give fuel and ammunation to an vehicle. Railways dosen't appear in Advance wars at all from what I know, I don't know about Advance wars 2 thought. But I doubt it's there too... | That vehicle is called a Transport, although the Japanese name of the APC in Advance Wars might be Transport that was then shortened to APC. As for the truck, it is called Supply Truck. I think there might be another type of plane called the Assault Fighter, an Anti-Air version of Artillery, and the deadly 'Rail Turtle'. |

| Yeah, but then APC makes more sense in the Advance wars series. Considering it does look like an real-life APC. APC stands for Armored personal carrier after all, and the one in Advance wars looks armored. Althought the Super Famicom transport dosen't look much like a real life APC to me, more like a pickup truck of some kind. I'm not surprised that they removed a quite few vehicles, more units dosen't mean a better game. Althought I wonder if a few of thoose will make a return on DS in a better form.  |

| Indeed, I think the merger of Transport and Supply Truck to APC is a major improvement, because alot of the time I won't waste money on those units in Super Famicom Wars when I could save up for a Heavy Tank or something (those things rock, by the way). Most of the other lost units appear to be stronger but slower (Heavy Tank) or weaker but faster (Anti-Air Artillery) versions of units that are already there. However, Giga Tanks and Rail Turtles are very unique units. EDIT: And apparently the Assault Fighter can attack ground units which the Fighter cannot do, so it's not just a strong Fighter. | Yeah, it's on Zophar. Althought Famicom wars is listed as Action... ...isn't it strategy? xD There is no Super Famicom translation, but if you have played Advance wars it's really not that hard to play the older japanse ones. I explore more tomorrow, as I will have more time by then... damn work. -.- |

| I used to go to Zophar and rpgd. After the reorganization at Zophar and rpgd's lack of updating, I relied on whirlpool. It's the best and the only place you should go to for translations... as for Famicom Wars, 1 dead translation Super Famicom Wars, uh...no information |

Intrestingly, if you search for ROM hack I-Mockery is the first thing that come up. Second is Acmlm's rom hacking domain. This is the most wellknown rom hacking board after all. Somehow. |

| Whirlpool works for me, no problems there. And tell me about getting to know about games late, I was very surprised to see Advance wars coming for Gamecube when it had been announced since quite long time ago. And the same with Civ 4... | For some reason Whirlpool is totally unavailable to me. I keep getting Forbidden for some reason. They better not skip this game, it looks awesome. Check out the video!! Whoooo, monsters!! The GC game seems to have monsters too. Also, there appears to be multiple ways to class change. Hoo yeah. The Wars series is wonderful fun, but it just doesn't have quite the same style as it's bigger brother, Fire Emblem. And certainly not as many hot characters. | For some reason, when uploading that file to Geocities, the file appears to suffer a strange graphical glitch for the lower part of the picture. On IE it does anyway. I have no idea why this is but it's not a problem on the original site... Oh wellies. What does everyone think of the plan of a Fire Emblem series of avatars for the board? Here's two examples of sexy tiara boy Marth... But if I'm gonna do it, I need to know which one of those looks best, and if anyone can suggest any improvements. I think the second one looks best, personally. |
