This was just so creepy I had to post it. There were three deer at the corner of an intersection I was stopped at. As soon as we stopped, they walked out a little and just stared at the stopped cars for awhile before running across, at which point they continued up the sidewalk until they were out of view. I have no idea how the deer got in to a relatively busy part of town or why they were walking on the sidewalk (perhaps they had observed that cars don't drive on them?) but whatever caused it, it was kinda cool seeing the deer in the middle of the street obeying traffic laws.

That's what you get for living in Canada. If you take take pictures of the bear with flash photography and poke it with a stick it will generally run away.

Damn deer. I always get creeped out driving home from my aunt's house at night through the Metroparks, because if I ever hit a deer, I don't think I'd have a car left.

Meh. Depends on the size of the car, and the size of the deer. The front of the car may be totaled or it may take no damage. Likewise, the deer can bounce up and land on the back windshield and shatter it without ever even touching the front windshield, as happened to me recently. The car itself will more than likely still be driveable though.

Yeah a deer isn't much, but you really gotta look out for those moose. When I go up north those are dangerous, people die a lot from hitting them.

That increases the chance of a deer landing in the car.

Nice car, btw.

I believe LPE meant that the deer ran in to the road, then her father swerved to avoid it and crashed in to something, then the deer ran off. I can't be certain, but, it's my best guess.

Nope, fully loaded 44 tonne articulated cement tanker truck! No shit, I've seen the damage first hand and its mental. It completely wrecked the front of the cab. I say the deer walked off, it died at the side of the road!

My uncle was hospitalized when he hit a moose in Newfoundland with his 18 wheeler.

It knocked the fucker off the road, he stopped the truck. The thing charged the truck and took off of the cargo cabin. And tipped the drivers cabin. My uncle suffered a concussion.

...we don't only have deers here. We have mooses too, which are even more heavy. Hitting them is like hitting a wall almost... o.o

Trapster, I think you only did hit the deer partly. You probably would felt it if it was a full frontal crash.
