Arrgh. I try to launch the program, and I keep getting this error:

c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded

I recently upgraded to the .NET Framework Service Pack 2 (today, in fact), which might've caused that problem. I tried locating the dll file, and putting it in the v1.1.4322 folder, but the folder itself wasn't there, so I created it, pasted the file inside, and now I get this error message, and then the other one appears right after it

The application has failed to start because fusion.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I hope this is only for the time being, 'cause I'd really like to give this program a try. If there's something I'm overlooking for fixing it, please let me know

I have resolved the issues with exits for both Locations and Overworlds. The above links have already been updated for the full version.

You can grab the update only download from here:
(old link) (120k)

I have also updated the exits example in the manual so that it is more complete.

There is not a service pack 2 publicly available for the .NET Framework v1.1 yet. Only service pack 1. Go to Add/Remove Programs and make sure .NET Framework v1.1 is listed there.

At any rate, to resolve this you will probably have to find the redistributable for v1.1 on Microsoft's website and reinstall.

I edited my post, so if you don't get anything, I dunno what's wrong.

Edit: Nevermind. I've figured out what was the problem, I simply didn't put the update in the folder containing the .dll files.

I was using some incorrect bit math there. It has been fixed.

awesome, works perfectly now. if I fing anymore bugs ill be sure to post them.
edit: now I noticed that you can paint anything solid by selecting solid in the tile properties, you can only do it by right clicking an already solid tile, and then left clicking on one thats not solid.

Oh nvm about the map, just noticed how many of those unknow ones there are.

Do we still need to write to memory to save stuff?

The editor is awesome btw.

Yes, it seems I was using what I thought the value for solid use to be (and not what I think it is now).

(old link)

Do we still need to write to memory to save stuff?

Yes. Very early on I had to decide if the program was going to automatically save everything the user did or save only when the user explicitly told them to. I chose the latter, mostly because it works as a rudimentary undo feature when combined with a revert command.

There are only two items I can think of that do not require "writing to memory" before saving in the entirety of the editor. Strings and exits. There is also no means of reverting either (short of re-opening the ROM) which is a bit of a problem.

Alright; I've made some areas and changed some dialogue. Just the event stuff remains to be learned...

Good luck. That is the hardest part to do. It took about 20 hours to put the teaser together, and it was largely an event hack.

Hey; by the way, I noticed that when I change instruments for a song in the Music editor, scroll to another song and then return to the one I changed, the values I changed are replaced by (3C-FF Invalid). A problem?

You will have to give me an example; I was not able to reproduce this error.

instead of garsping aimlessly for words that will surely fail to summarize the fucking amazing-ness of this release, i will only say "good. fucking. job.". seriously, i've been waiting for this since i learned what romhacking was. You have done a superb job Evil Peer

two things that i can think of right now that i thnk would help, and would not be hard to impliment (and i apologize if they are already features, but i didn't notice them in the help file)

1) something to show which tile is currently selected on the Tile panel. It's rather difficult and sometimes annoying when clicking on the map to realize that you selected the wrong tile. and on that note, perhaps a grid? i realize that displaying a grid may only be more rendering and uneccesary slowdown, but i wouldn't mind it.

2) continuos painting with Mouse Down. On editing smaller maps it's not really that difficult, but when editing the World map and painting in something like a large section of trees or land, it can be extremely frustrating clicking 30+ times for the same tile.

anyway, fucking amazing job. sorry if my post didn't make much sense. alcohol does funny things to your typing ability.
