A few months ago I started on a hack. It was almost complete and I was going to release a demo here on acmlm but my hard drive died and took the hack with it. Fast forward to the present and I started on a hack again. It's not much, I don't mean it to be much, it's my first hack! Here are some screenshots. Ill add more later. I opted for darker colors. They look better IMO. A level screenshot, I think Mario looks funny in this shot O_o You're supposed to climb with the vine (which Yoshi can't do) but I added a way for Yoshi to do it as well. Screenshot of the fortress. I'd like to thank Kyouji for answering my questions throughout the development of this hack. I will post a demo when I feel the hack is ready. Right now I want to experiment with new graphics and fixing glitches. A demo is guaranteed by the 14th (next week). More screenshots will be posted before that. My approach to making the hack is simple. I'm not a very good artist so it's not going to have phenomenal visuals. I'm not very creative too so devious levels that make you think are out of the question for the most part. I've kept the hack simple and straightforward, it's as easy (if not easier) than regular SMW but I find it just as fun. It took me several revisions to get the hack to be enjoyable. I've played the first level at least 30 times and I'm still not tired of it. I hope the hack will be as fun for others. |

Autoreply program started. [Mechanical voice] Palette problems, Status bar problems, glitched graphics, strange overworld. ...I need to make that program accually look at the pictures someday... Ok... Seriously... There are some tile problems. Otherwise looking good. Can't see any problems here, except for the "pillars'" pallette. Looking good. Why aren't the twomps angry? 1st shot: -Interesting...why is the castle the 1st level (provided mario starts at Yoshi's house)? Might be interesting -The palette isn't that great for the island, the greens just dont go well togeter, to mush contrast -many graphical glitches on the island: 1. Extra land piece beside the left most pirana plant 2. The rocks above mario intersect the path 3. Some of the land doesn't look correct, like the squarish area below mario. -Also, a hint for the future is dont show all the paths reveled 2nd shot: -Everything is good, except the palette of the mushrooms(the bottoms). 3rd shot: -the ground palette isn't that great. And what do you mean by the comment you put under this picture? 4th shot: -This is lookin good! Just fix this stuff and it will be much better. I also see that you tinted the status bar red, that looks really good IMO! Maby you should tint the OW border red as well. |

Looks alright, except for the left and rightmost sides of the islands. The palette on the pillar part of those plaforms. Ouch. Also, the pink letters and numbers on the status bar really don't look to good on that color background. Except for the status bar once again, this shot looks good. Same as above. Other than that, it's looking good so far |

Keikonium: That extra land piece is actually deliberate, I was going to remove it but I think it looks ok, sort of like a part of the island is unstable and is on the verge of a land slide. I saw the rock overlapping the path, but I never bothered to fix it... must've been tired that day The squarish land was leftover from the first ideas I had. I'll fix it right away! -Yeah, my bad... however it's hardly a hint. 2nd shot : I never realized the palette was messed up. 3rd shot : I don't know O_o Smallhacker : I will fix the problems I find, and the ones keikonium pointed out. Pallette : See above, I never noticed, it looked normal to me but I will fix it. The thwomps aren't angry because I screwed up when taking that shot and I got smashed |

There's nothing wrong with the status bar palette. And I think you should change the ground palette in the third picture. For the grass, make the inner colour be the darkest, and for the dirt, make the squares have the darkest colour. |

Nice. The 'stalk' of the pirhana plant looks different (not to say that's a bad thing ) How are you supposed to get that dragon coin Not much wrong here, except the corners of the stone blocks. That palette looks alot better. Nothing wrong here. This one looks good as well. |

1. Looking good. I just think the bush is a bit too bright. 2. Great! (Note to Karadur: Yoshi can walk on the plants or whatever they are.) 3. Great! 4. Maybe its just me but I don't the BG should be green. At least not that bright 5. I don't think the dark grey fits the other colors. 6. Super great! Next up: The Quest for the Crackers Well, if I had to pick one phrase to describe this hack, I'd say it's short and sweet. There's still that one weird thing when you enter the Yellow Switch Palace. The screen starts over to the right more than it should, and after you move a bit, it snaps back into place. That's easily overlooked though. It's definitely the not the longest hack out there, but it's still good. Nice job |

Uh... I'm pretty sure it's just a demo, Karadur. Anyway, DON'T SPAM FIREBALLS. I usually fireball my way through hacks and here it's pretty vital you don't, especially around platforms where you need to jump on koopas to get across. |

Lookin' good, except for the piranha plant's vine. No problems here. Looks good. The palette is still bad. I've marked every tile problems I found. Looking good... Except for... Should the stone ceiling above Mario really be blue? |
