Oh, a quick note...

If any of you are planning to continue playing WoW next week when it's released, DON'T delete the client. Apparently Blizzard's said that you can still use it with the final version, meaning all you'd have to do is whip out the CD key and create your account.

I presume that means you won't need a CD in the drive to play WoW, which makes sense - piracy's almost a non-issue with MMORPG's that don't have server software leaked.

WoW server software is leaked?

This intrigues me. Tell me more? (via PM if need be)

I was trying to take a look into the MPQ data files with the game, but I couldn't find their listfiles (didn't try too hard though). The cached information is pretty easy and simple to understand though, and it seems reasonable to expect the server side version of this data to look similar, so this could be an easy game to hack up.

Isn't it a beta/alpha version of the server software though? That doesn't strike me as being *too* useful.

The server software has been heavely modified.
The newest version it supports though is 0.12.

I'm sure there'll be a newer "leaked" version soon enough...

...then again, the best time to play an RPG is when it's getting off the ground with a huge user base.

Sofie + job = second comp + 2 subscriptions to WoW.

Now all I need is that jobthing. sigh. I will likely get my nightelf hunter back, and a human priest to hopefully go with my hubby's planned paladin. Other than that, Tauren shaman seems fun. Anyone planning out characters yet?

The game is available on Canadian shelves today too it seems - sometimes we lag behind the States (afternoon/following day release). But people have the game so it's all good.

Now I just need to make sure I can procure game cards.

[16:36:25] <~Kwan> Blizzard is pleased to announce that World of Warcraft will release in Europe in early 2005. This will follow a final beta test, which is currently scheduled to start in December 2004.
[16:36:25] <~Kwan> At launch the game will be available in two versions: standard and collector's edition. The suggested retail price for the standard box is 44.99

Well, if it was even that much it's STILL be worth it. But I got it cheaper at Gamestop. And that includes overnight delivery.

If I *EVER* spend more than $100 on a video game (minus other costs) then you guys have a right to claim that I'm careless with my money. 100%.

(The one game I have that cost more than $100? Final Fantasy 3/6. Thankfully it was a Christmas present.)

99.99$ Canadian I take it? The US price is 79.99$. Since the dollar is pretty low now, 79.99$ is equivalent of buying a cheap new console game, bought Star Ocean 3 for the same price.

I want this. I want it badly. Too bad I won't be getting much money over december so it'll take a while before I can join

Leg, give me the soundtrack, and tell me how awesome the art book is. I need some self-pity time.
