*grabs a frog coin*

I don't know what to call it yet. It's old name sucked. Anyway, here are some screens of level 3, with a shot of level 1 at the bottom for good measure. The level design here isn't finalized yet. The sky looks too empty, so clouds of some form or another may be in order. Maybesome kind of trippy dark moon or something, as well.

Minor setback here... I'm probably going to have the start over. The rom seems to have been corrupted ever so slightly by reVamp. There a wierd sprite error that pastes random sprites on the screen that only go away when the screen fills with enough ACTIVE sprites to clear them away. TheFakeGod is helping me out with this... so hopefully starting over won't have to happen. Expect a demo on Halloween (again). w00t.

I really liked that 'effect' in the screen with the green background.
Just a question: are you using the japanese version (with the VRC6) as base? It would be sweet...
I look forward to it.
PS: is that Sonia in the screenshots? Or an 8 bit rendition of Simon from Demon Castle Dracula?

Yes, this is using the Akumajou Densetsu rom.

As for the sprite, that's just something I slapped together myself. I did a 16bit rendition of him for fun but I don't know where that is now... Although you can't tell in that 8bit stuff, he has blonde hair and red chainmail. I wanted to have him use a sword, but that isn't working out too great, so it looks like hes going to be another belmont whip wielder.

Here's another sprite I did, though. I made this for Casstlevania 1 but never went anywhere with it. And why in the world would a vampire hunter in middle europe wear sandals? *shrugs* I wanted him to be different... maybe a greek hero or something.

Looks very cool. I think it looks like a Japanese karate-fighting girl (with sandals )
It's a shame we can use only so few colors. One thing i would like to see is a Nes emu with support to custom graphic packs and ogg format soundtracks (to make synchronization easier)...but enough with the off-topic stuff
I'm actually surprised you made the sprite (the "girl") look _that_ good.

I could have sworn I had made that to be male, but thanks for the compliment XD.

About as custom as it gets is custom palette support, and that varies from emulator to emulator. I'm using my own palette for this project, which is pretty much just a slightly modified nes one.

Good looking hack.

Did they make a CV3 editor that edits all levels now? Last I knew it only did a few levels.

Do you mean there are enemy sprites at regular intervals? Like, 4 per screen, each at the same height ? If so, I know what the problem is, and it is rather simple to solve. (Basically, enemy 00, which usually stands for "no enemy", has been associated with an active enemy - and so a given room "00 00 00 13 00 2A 00 00" which would normally have two enemies ("13" and "2A") will have eight, and the "00" ones might look like junk because the pattern tables are wrong.) If this sounds like the problem then let me know and I'll tell you how to fix it.

Good luck with your hack, it looks good.

Edit -
iamhiro : Yes there's a full editor for CV3, I made it. I don't think there are others. Mine can be found here.

Hell yeah. I know Im gonna make my own hack. Hopefully this is full featured as the castlevania 1 level editor was. Or will become as fully featured as it does anyway.
