What in the world is the New Wave of American Heavy Metal? Did you make that up yourself? KsE is metalcore--that is, hardcore metal. It's kinda similar to hardcore (which already is the fusion of punk and metal)...but a hell of a lot more metal. KsE is an OK band, but there are a lot better metalcore bands out there. And metalcore's been around for quite a long while...it's only recently been making it bigger in the mainstream, almost replacing nu-metal, it seems.

I ordered these CDs because I'm cool:

The Birthday Party - Hee-haw
The Birthday Party - Prayers on Fire
The Birthday Party - Junkyard
The Birthday Party - Mutiny/The Bad Seed
Corrosion of Conformity - Deliverance
Strapping Young Lad - Alien

KSE does kick ass, i got The End of Heartache a couple of months ago right before they came to bosie(my friend was getting it signed for me, but they got into a fight and got kicked out)

jsut recently i decided to purchase My Chemical Romance's album " 3 Cheers for Sweet Revenge" which is good, and they have replaced the used in my favorite pop/punk category.

Last night i went with some people to get some chinese, and we stopped in at sam goody, and they had the reissue of From Autumn to Ashes's "Too Bad You're Beautiful" with new artwork, and the 4 track demo added onto the cd. If you havent picked up this cd, you need to get it. its amazing, better than bleeding throughs last album even though it isnt as heavy as bleeding though...

Im planning special taste of chaos edition of "End Of Heartache" when my walmat gets it in if they ever do...
also im getting Lamb of Gods Terror and Hubris DVD for 6 bucks on overstock.com

I love the new Norma Jean album. It's produced by Matt Bayles, who's produced Botch, Mastodon, and Isis. He's an incredible producer, he gives bands a very "fiery" sound (especially in the bass guitar). I haven't listened to Norma Jean's Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child very much at all to form a solid opinion, but what I've heard hasn't been all too special. Upon first listen, I enjoy the new album a lot more.

Norma Jean has more than just two albums, though. Before releasing BLM&KTC, they were known as Luti-Kriss.

I just got out of BMT(basic military training) for the US Air Force, so i missed everything from the past 6 1/2 weeks, so as soon as i got out, i went to a electronics store at the airport when i was on my way to my new base, and bought the following.

Smallville Seasons 2 + 3
Linkin Park - Meteora
Toby Keith - Greatest Hits vol2
Garth Brooks - Double Live
Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
Three Doors Down - Seventeen Days

And there are many many more things on my list.

Let's see, today I got:

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses The DVD.
A DVD based on the infamous album from 1989, which swept critics and audiences alike, and made The Stone Roses one of Britain's biggest bands, despite the fact that they only ever released 2 albums. This DVD contains live-versions of all the songs + music videos + interviews.

Allow me to give the new Garbage some dap, too. "Why Do You Love Me" has them in RARE form.

(But TV On the Radio is STILL better. 'Specially "New Health Rock"... forgot to mention that EP came with the CD.)

I got in Shonen Knife's Brand New Knife. Totally killer album.

I also got in The Red Elvises' Surfing in Siberia. Their "breakthrough" album from Russian migrants to absolute rokenrol.

I am an evil, evil man, for I stopped off at a used CD place WHILE ON THE JOB. Finished covering a lacrosse game (we got the living shit kicked out of us, so the game ended really early), stopped in, got on the highway... and bumped THIS.

* Elliott: U.S. Songs
* G. Love and Special Sauce: G. Love and Special Sauce
* Marvelous 3: ReadySexGo
* Primal Scream: Vanishing Point

Not my usual haul, but I WAS on the clock, people.

EDIT: Hey, why NOT thrift at work too?

CD:
* The Special Goodness: Land Air Sea
* Grandaddy: Sumday

Reckids:
* Joan Jett & the Blackhearts: I Love Rock & Roll
* The Knack: Get the Knack
* Propaganda: A Blatant Attempt To Influence Your Musical Taste (compilation that features some Joe Jackson and the Police... live songs and a Joe Jackson song that wasn't released until the 2001 reissue of Look Sharp!)
* Sarah Vaughan: Great Songs From Hit Shows
* Tears for Fears: Songs From the Big Chair
