They said it lost some of its strenght at the news and at that time it went from CAT 5 to CAT 4...but that was a while ago...

It must

my biggest complaint about the annual hurrican season is that it makes for very boring TV. the news is probably my least favorite portion of news broadcasts, so it the storms force me to change the channel. and i don't have a remote.

Yeah I heard over the radio earlier that it gained strenght again and was also heading towards the pan handle. Also, there seems to be another system forming too. This one of the bad years for hurricanes to happen I say.

This is the peak of the season, so I'm not surprised that storms are still forming.

Now I'm worried about Christi, who lives in Lousiana...it might hit there now. But there are three other places that it could still hit.

Let's see how long it stays a Cat 5...

Then again, those are extremely unpredictable. It could stay in the 4-5 range for another day or two or just drop off and be at 1 or TS status when it makes landfall in the States. Hope for the latter.

I woke up early this morning, and looked out the window and it was very grey outside and windy. So I went back to sleep. Just checked my weather bug and it seems that all of the outer bands will hit us, so it's going to rain all day today me thinks. Figures, on my day off when O have things to do.

I love it when it rains...especially when I am sleeping. I just hate it when it rains when I have to drive somewhere, since my car has no a/c and my windows do not work on their own.

Oh come on....not a fourth one... ...once you think that things are starting to go back to normal...

My mom lives in PR, so she'll get hit if it stays on this course. They managed to miss Ivan and Frances.

MIAMI -- Tropical Storm Jeanne continued its steady movement northwest Tuesday and was expected to hit Puerto Rico by Wednesday morning, bringing strong winds and heavy rain.

Jeanne could be packing sustained winds of 60 mph with higher gusts when it hits Puerto Rico and drop 10 inches of rain, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

"It's not the same as Ivan, but it is certainly threatening weather," hurricane center forecaster Rafael Mojica said. Hurricane Ivan, which was in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, killed at least 68 people in seven islands or countries in the Caribbean over the weekend.

Because of Jeanne, the hurricane center posted tropical storm warnings for Puerto Rico, the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts, Nevis, Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Marten. A storm watch covered Anguilla and some coastal sections of the Dominican Republic.

At 11 p.m. EDT, Jeanne was located about 40 miles south-southeast of St. Croix and was moving west-northwest near 8 mph. The storm was centered at latitude 17.2 north, longitude 64.5 west, and was expected to approach the center of St. Croix early Wednesday, and to reach Puerto Rico on Wednesday afternoon.

Forecasters predict the storm could hit or skim past the Dominican Republic on Thursday, Haiti on Friday and move over the eastern tip of Cuba or into the Bahamas by Saturday. There is a chance the storm could hit Florida early next week. Mojica said it could become a Category 1 hurricane with winds in excess of 74 mph by Saturday.

Jeanne is the 10th named storm to form in the Atlantic this tropical storm season, which began June 1. Three have hit Florida, and Ivan is threatening to hit the Panhandle later this week.

Hurricanes Charley and Frances caused up to $20 billion in damage to Florida and killed at least 50 people when they struck the state. Tropical Storm Bonnie caused minimal damage when it struck the Panhandle.

I'm almost at a point where I just don't care anymore.

I get more worried and worried if this is caused by the "global warming" or not. It may be like this for the coming years at worst case.

Honestly, I don't buy into all that global warming crap.

Hurrican history has shown that there are highs and lows that happen, that tend to last about five or so years. Well, we've been in a low for some time, for about ten years, actually, and I read that we are soon to enter the high season(s) now. This is just the start of it. I'll believe that once next season comes around.

From the looks of it, its going to be another nasty day...must be more outter bands from Ivan. The skies look worse than yesterday. And today, I have no choice, I have to go out.
