Being a -stable- CAT 5 for a full day even would be impressive. A strong one at that, not the borderline type. Regardless, it's never pretty seeing a CAT 1-3...much less this.

I don't know how strong I'm gonna be this time around... It's a fine time for school going kids, with schools constantly being closed. It's a bad time for business, with them constantly going through the closing and reopening processes and loss of money due to not having their business open. Maybe my FireRed game will entertain me... |

Weather acts most crazy when you least expect it, heck weather have going crazy in the later years. Even if Europa, if another big storm happens here again like for some years ago... (it was in hurricane strength!) I do wonder if thoose hurricanes is related to the global warming somehow... |

They now have three possible tracks that it could go. 1. Along the coast of south florida. 2. Along the coast of west florida. 3. Into the Gulf, hitting a different state. I need to go out again today, once the midday traffic ends, to get some ice, jus in case. And if you think that you won't get hit by either a hurricane or tropical storm during hurricane season, then you're just fooling yourself. |

If you live in Florida that is. Even though I'm in Tornado Alley during Tornado season I've still been lucky enough to evade the majority that spawn (like...50 in one night is not uncommon). I think the closest call I've had was an F0 (weakest) not liking the tree outside my old house and smash a big limb off onto the roof of our house. Yea...that was fun fixing. And of course there were people close to the window during that time when there was a big THUNK! that rocked the whole house. Surprised no one got injured or that the window didn't shatter. It was better than the people getting hit up north with a few F1s and 2s. (edited by Prier on 09-09-04 05:02 PM) |

Then again...forget about the three paths that it could take....try five

Having my Father panic over a would-be Hurricane hit is bad enough. Three would cause me to have an ulcer and give him a stroke. And, ironically, people right next to me at this exact moment are talking about Ivan. Conversation ranges from "Bad Luck for Florida" to "I won't be surprised if the whole damn state just started to sink" Just got to love the optimism these people have. |

Well today in Ottawa we got a huge rainstorm with wind and hail and all the fixings that lasted 15 hours, from 4am to 7pm. Apparently it was the tail end of Frances. Woah, if thats only the tail end, I can't imagine what the main collision area would be like!

The only thing we got here (in Montreal), is the remains of Frances. It was raining all day, and it's still raining now. Better watch the pool before it's full of water Edit: I wish interesting would happen here... (edited by Sephiroth7231121 on 09-09-04 08:25 PM) |

Kirbynite: Not good for the school kids, actually - especially if they need to extend the school year or take away holidays. No, nothing much happened aside from the remains of Frances. Nope. Nada. |

The worst weather I've seen up here in Alberta this year is the nearly constant rain. Almost every night, it's raining, and last night, it was snowing. Then again, it's snowed in June here before. The farmers are pissed off, though. All the rain means they can't cut their crops. And the farmers I know need that money to survive the winter. |

23 people have already died, and its going to hit Jamica head on. I am so mentally tired at this point. Oh, but at least I managed to get six bags of ice before they were all gone. |

In a way...I wish it would hit during the weekend...I hate working the weekend. Oh well. I guess I get to use the rest of my cash to get gas and a few more dried goods that I used during the last hurricane. And this time if we have to leave, I'm bringing the Ps2 with me. Last time, I just had Knights of the Old Republic (for the comp), and I didn't mind, but still, a change in a game once in awhile is good. I have a few pictures that I took of Frances, but the camera isn't finished yet, so it might be a while before I have pics up. |
