| Just taking a wild guess here; I just saw a movie on smallpox, so I though that might have something to do with it. The two men and the dead person in the bag are bioterrorists. The dead man was infected with smallpox. They left his body in the bag and infected themselves with the disease. When they saw a stranger, they ran up to meet him in order to infect him, and thus spread the disease (this would also make the bag unnecessary). | |||

The christian theology does not support the idea of going on a journe of enlightenment, not does it believe one needs to be physically close to God to become closer to God. In this case, the archbishop would have most likely told him this and sent him off without permission. |
