| As the trio of soldiers closed in on the group, the lead one drew a sword, and send it towards Haruko -- when he stopped short, the cold metal of an odd gun that seemed to be a cross between a double-barreled shotgun and a pistol pressing into the bottom of his nose. A dark figure held the gun, a cloak black as night enveloping him, light brown hair floating around in the gentle breeze under a rather large black hat. Large, circular glasses seemed to glow like the pale moon, and a large grin crept across his face as the soldier's face turned pale and beads of sweat began to roll down his forehead. In mere moments, the man had spun the gun around in the lone hand holding it, his grip now locked down tight on the barrel, as he slammed the end of the gun into the soldier's neck, making him collapse to the floor like a rag doll. Changing hands back to the grip, the figure aimed the gun at both remaining soldiers, who were quivering in fear. He took a moment to look behind him, tipping his hat to Haruko. Figure: Are you alright, miss? |

| Jack wasn't about to be out shone in front of Haruko, especially be some random stranger. He quickly leaped over the cloaked man, spinning and rotating as he moved through the air, so that he landed on his hands on the two soldiers' helmets, pushing them down tight onto their heads. Soldier 1: Can't see! Jack then landed behind the soldiers, facing them, and gave them both a quick judo-chop to the neck, which caused them to collapse to the ground. |

| Meanwhile, the person who was walking up the stairs finally reached the third quarter mark. However, he still had a bit more to go. Suddenly, a low, feminine voice crept up behind. him. "I see you're taking your sweet time." The voice, however, quickly disappeared. A normal person wouldn't have been able to detect in what direction she went to. ------------------ Kirbynite: Whoo! That was easy! ... We just keep meeting weird people all day. I feel kinda sad.. I didn't get to do much... Fortunately for Kirby, he was going to get a chance to use his... unique weapon. A very large man, who seemed to be ripping through his soldier uniform, stepped up, spinning around a mace. Big Buff Soldier: Do not get in our way. |

| "Show yourself!" In a quick spin motion the guys sword was out and ready for combat. His shield gleamed in the sun as it became appearent. Looking around to make sure he wasn't going to get ambushed the guy started to go up the steps again this time sword out and ready. He was also preparing a little surprise for the first enemy he saw. |

| The cloaked figure turned to the buffed-up soldiers, leveling the pistol shotgun at his stomach. Figure: You misunderstand. It is you who are in our way. He pulled the trigger, and twin, white-hot beams of energy shot out of the end of the weapon with a loud crack, striking the soldier square in the chest. The blow sent him back into a large temple column, which promptly collapsed onto him in a comical fashion, leaving his noggin with numerous large bumps. Turning around, the figure grinned at Haruko. Figure: Will that be all for you today, miss? |

| The soldier's helm was dented pretty badly, but his enormous cranium prevented the protective head gear for caving in. It was save to say that this man was enraged. He got back up, shrugging off the debris off of him. The buffed up soldier charged towards Melvin, and swung around the spiked mace. Kirbynite decided to take the opportunity to play hero as well, and leapt into the air. A gem on the Dreamlander's right arm sparkled as his stick soared through the air. A sound piercing cracked shot throughout the area. Kirbynite found himself laid out on the floor. He rubbed his head and looked around. Kirbynite: ... My.. My weapon! Kirbynite's stick was broken in half. Not only that, but stones on the tips were broken off as well. -------------------- The man at the stairway seemed to make sure that he wasn't going to get ambushed. There was a ruffle in the nearby foilage. However, it was just a carnivorous rabbit. |

| The Big Buff Soldier stood there for a few seconds processing the incident, but soon was back to charging at the mysterious figure. The soldier, however, was once again blocked from his target by a frying pan wielding Teddylot. Some spit and a few teeth went flying through the air, and the teddy bear landed safely on the ground while the Buff Soldier staggered a few feet and began to rub his cheek like mad. The teddy bear spun his staff around his arm and the frying pan tip suddenly disappeared. Meanwhile, Zap used this distraction to sneak behind the buff soldier and pull a little stunt of his own. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a circular pad, but before he was able to use it, the soldier flailed his arms and knocked Zap back into the closest wall. The giant turned and headed toward the fallen genius with a steadily growing pace. He was able to roll away from the cracked wall just before the soldier ran headfirst into it. He hopped up and stamped the pad onto the soldier giving him an almost deadly shock throughout his body. Zap: Huh? What the? *takes a CD player out of his hoodie |

| The figure wheeled around, expecting to see a buffed-out soldier leaping towards him. Instead, he saw the soldier lying dazed in a corner, with all three of the other combatants moaning over lost personal effects. Figure: That was... unneccesary. |

| The lumbering giant of a soldier now had a small stream of saliva down his chin. It was quite apparent that this guy was not going to give up. There was also a suspicion that this person might've been on kind of dangerous berserking potion. However, none of that mattered. What did matter was that the Big Buff Soldier got up to his feet. He staggered a bit, but still managed to lift up his mace. With a loud roar, the man leapt up into the air, and stomped the ground. A wave of dirt and grass was sent out from beneath the Gu-Goomba's feet. Kirbynite, along with some others, were sent into the air. Unfortunately for Kirby, the Dreamlander had a bit of clumsyness in him as well. He landed on his head, and rolled onto his back. Kirbynite: Man.. this.. guy is strong... Just then, a female voice yelled out "Hee-yaa!". This yell was followed by the sound of metal tearing into armor and flesh. The Big Buff Soldier had a broad sword slice across his chest, causing him to reel backwards. However, the giant didn't get a chance to recouperate. The swordsperson, who seemed to move in a red and white blurr, rushed forward and grabbed the burly man. She shook the Gu-Goomba in an up and down motion (Kirbynite could've sworn he heard her mutter "shake shake"), and then rolled onto her own back. Still gripped onto the soldier, the mystery woman implanted her red and yellow boots into the guy, and launched him into the air. That was the last they saw of the Big Buff Soldier. Botta: It's you... I see... Everyone. Retreat. And with that, the injured Gu-Goombas, along with Botta, ran off the scene. The mystery woman carefully sheethed her sword. The wind began to blow, causing her short, green hair and very long, white bandana to dance around. The sun gleamed off of her unusual, white armor. Her shoulders seemed to consist of a sphere (one for each shoulder). The bottom part of her armor flaired out like a miniskirt. Underneath her armor, she wore rather loose, red clothing. | OOC: Marina? Janus has a slightly skeptical look on his face. It's obvious the strange lady is not an enemy to him, but before today, he honestly thought he'd seen everything. Janus: "Man, this just keeps getting more and more interesting." He walks up to the woman and tries to get a better look at her. "Who might you be? You certainly don't look like everyone else here. In fact, you look extremely different from everyone else around here." He continues to look her over, moving around her and treating her as though she were a spectacle of some sort. Obviously, he's being very rude, but he doesn't seem to notice it at all. Janus then looks back to the rest of the group. "I'll assume things are only going to get stranger?" |

| After casting a shifty glare at Jack, the male figure holstered his weapon in a single stroke, tipping his hat to Haruko before turning his back to the crowd. Figure: Well, I believe that's all for now. And with that, the figure leapt over a handy, nearby cliff. |

| ** Figure(Melvin) earned the title of "Mysterious Bastard" ** ** Jack earned the title of "Quick to Impress" ** ** Kirbynite earned the title of "Envious Fighter" ** ** Haruko earned the title of "Damsel in Distress" ** ** Teddylot earned the title of "Vengeful Fryingpan" ** ** Janus earned the title of "Curiously Skeptical" ** Kirbynite: This whole entire trip was strange. I'm.. so... confused. *looks at Haruko* Does that mean that she'll be able to go see that oracle thingu? Haruko's father stepped closer towards the victorious group. He wiped his name tag, which read "Gyromite", and fixed his glasses. Gyromite: Oh.. thank you so much everyone.. But.. All of the priests who were supposed to accompany the Chosen died at the hands of the Gu-Goombas.. Kirbynite: Hey! I'll protect Haruko!  I mean.. it's just a chapel..Gyromite: Kirbynite! There are monsters inside! The green haired woman finally took the opportunity to speak up. Mysterious Woman: You're Kirbynite? Kirbynite: Huh? Uh.. The Dreamlander attempted to act tough, just as the other strangers before him. Kirbynite: Well.. who are you to ask for my name? Mysterious Woman: .... | "I have killed all the other monsters, but I guess I can spare one... I can tell the battle is over maybe I should have helped. Then again they looked like they could protect themselves, and that voice probably was another warrior... Hmmm so many questions..." The figure made it up the steps to see what had happened he looked at the passing Botta and almost fried him with the saved attack. "So you were defeated by a bunch of kids hmm? I thought you could do better than that." The figure heard all that happened and looked towards Marina. He was surprised for a second as he thought the voice was indeed the one he heard. He resheated his sword and waited for just a bit longer. |

Gyromite: Oh, she already went insi- A scream, not so much one of fright as one of surprise, is heard from inside the temple. Jack: Fem! Everyone rushes inside, where they find a ghost, a zombie, and a slime attacking what at first appears to be a large person in red and yellow armor. However, after more than just a glance it becomes apparent that it is in fact a machine of sorts. Behind it stands Fem, ready for battle and a little annoyed at (what at least in her mind is) the unnecessary help. Robot: Protect! Protect! Protect! Jack: ...! Let's help him out! |

| Janus: "Hey now, I'll go too, but I have to say you're being a bit hasty there, buddy." Janus grabs Jack just before he dashes off to the scene of battle, and maintains a firm grip on his shoulder, trying to act as a voice of reason. Janus: "Hold on there, it looks like the big metal thingy's got this fight covered. Besides, it's 2 on 3, and a very big two on a relatively small three at that. Do you really think they need us? I say we stay back and help them when they need it. Somehow I get the feeling we'd be more of a hinderance than a help to them." Janus steps in front of Jack, blocking his way and waiting to see how the fight will unfold. |

| Jack, more than just annoyed at this point, smacked Janus across the face. Jack: Are you blind!? The robot is just standing there letting itself get attacked, and at the same time preventing any possible attack on the monsters from my sister by facing away from her! Jack made use of his relative shortness by sliding under Janus through his legs. |

| At that instant, twin beams of light erupted from out of nowhere, completely obliterating the slime in a flash of light. The dark figure stepped out from a corner, tipping his hat as he released the trigger on his gun, a pair of smoking red shells landing on the floor next to him as the barrel span and clicked into place. Figure: I suppose I'm not done here yet, hmm? |

| Meanwhile, Gyromite had agreed to pay Marina to protect the Chosen. Kirbynite was a bit confused at the entire matter, since he was seeing strange people appearing out of nowhere. Kirbynite looks behind him, and looked at the person sheathing his sword. Kirbynite: What is this guy-- Marina: *stepping towards the Minh Temple* Children should stay at home. This isn't a field trip, y'know. Kirbynite: Hey hey hey! I'm not a kid! I'm seventeen! Us "children" can do fine. And that guy with the guns doesn't look a year older than me! Marina: Your reaction is enough to categorize you as a child. Kirbynite: But... Grr... I'll show you who's a kid. The Dreamlander picked up the remains of his weapon. He held a stick in each hand. He then spun around, and grinded the tips of the sticks on the ground. The sticks now resembled Kendo swords. Kirbynite bolted forward, and entered the temple the moment Jack slid under Janus. Kirby slashed at the zombie, knocking off its head. Kirbynite then slashed at the ground, forcing out strong wave of energy out of the ground, and plowing through the zombie.
