These dungeons i'm working on is making me go dizzy, it takes so long to make a dungeon! (considering you have to make them "work" with the keys, link up, make sure rooms ain't "impossible" etc)

Thanks for the compliments... As for the dungeons; well Garmichael is figuring most stuff of it while I masterize the overworlds... So in other words, the more people get involved.. the better it is..

Orochimaru (Me): Overworld Editing (All of it, will do dungeons aswell, when the're finished..)
Garmichael: Dungeon Editing (Working on them desperately)
MajinBlueDragon: Music (Testing as of now...)
blackhole89: Plot/Story (Been a while by now... not sure what he will come up with..)
ghillie: Beta-Testing
Euclid: Various

Well that makes a 4 people team + Beta-Testers... quite good enough as for now... Might I add u Euclid aswell for testing and fixing those annoying overworld doors/bugs (when you're finish with ur hack of course... no need to rush..).

sure i don't see why not.

after some people complained about one dungeon in my demo, i now know what is actually a hard dungeon (it's just those which requires good timing to do)

Euclid, seeing how you made your overworlds just makes me want to fix those GFX errors... I find your overworlds amazing besides these bugs... You made a great overworld hack IMO.. I'd really like to beta test it aswell (Is applicable of course )

No matter how hard I look, I cant find anything wrong in those screenshots... nothing Im impressed.

This is so going to be the best Zelda 3 hack ever.

Edit: And I'd ,too, like a spot in beta testing if you want.

Well, don't know how to say this... It's gonna be the opposite of the Light World I guess... Almost the same, althrough many things who changes... like the dungeons for exemple..

Well the fact that you can't fing everything wrong is probably because I work too hard on the worlds... Anyway, I'll make a dungeon or two, make the houses etc.. change the text, sprites, and a few other things... Then the first private beta should be released... About the beta testers, there is about three of them already... So let's say ten of them would be fine.. So as of now..

1 - Euclid (The best Z3 modder out there I guess )
2 - Ghillie (Ask me since I post teh first screens.. So I guess I'll take him)..
3 - Omega45889 (He already made a hack, and he's deoing the second.. perfect for the job)
4 - Kirby ATW (Well I can take you since you supported me all the way..)
5 - DarkSlaya (Why not, since you're asking..)
6 - OPEN
7 - OPEN
8 - OPEN
9 - OPEN
10 - OPEN

So if ya still want to beta test, reserve your slot! And I'll take the decisions..

Yo, im up for beta testing.

And as my first act, I may have found an error in ur overworld design.

I noticed that ur sanctuary is backed up against water. What if a player decides to go swim down into that area.

I was looking at an older version of ur overworld when I noticed that, and it looks as if you have blocked off that water in the newer version, so it may be fixed already.

Later.

Edit: I just realized that you had already signed me up. THX! Appreciate it.

Edit 2: I suggest that before you give the rom to anyone, you make it perfectly clear that it isnt to be given to friends... ect. That is usually how betas are leaked, and it would be a real shame for such a work of art to be released before its ready.

Hang on here... Not that I was looking for about 30 minutes to find this but....

The turtle head and claws have a bit of ground beneath them that does not match up with the rest of the ground. Thats all I found.... Just a MINOR discoloring bug to fix is all

Don't worry you won't be able to go swim in that area... As for the beta testing... yes I signed you up.. considering you are doing your second hack already, you might have facility to find bugs..

Well as for the private beta... I hope it doesn't get leaked.. but you never know what people can do.. The least I will do is lock the rom so it can't be read in HM..

Thanks... it's minor, but since everything is done quite "GODLY" I will make sure it's fixed..

How soon can we expect this private beta? cause, dungeons take longer than you might think? maybe in like a month or so?

And, yah, locking the rom is a good idea. It would probably prevent a bunch of posers from stealing your work.

Well you can expect it when it'll be done! I won't push myself up to the limits to make a fast release, that's for sure... Unless you want a bad beta with full of bugs in it... I'll take time to do a really fine product.. Talk about a company quality release.. So when the first set of dungeons be done, you'll know.. You just have to be patient.. Let's try not to rush the release, that's it.. The longer it takes, the better it'll be... Anyway that's what I think, feel free to think waht you want

BTW, happy birthday DarkSlaya! 19 years old isn't nothing

EDIT: And yes, locking the rom is a good idea.. Think about all the time I worked into this... we sure don't want to be stolen there... Dunno why this option wasn't implement in HM... conserering it has been available all the time for LM...

Ur right... take ur time. Thats why I havent released anything to do with Dark Prophecy. Im gonna make it a quality hack. Im gonna start posting large updates when i reach the final beta phase. That way when I start releasing stuff, it will only be like a month till the final product, and not like 2 years. The wait for Quest for Calatia is killing me!

I remember when I released my first demo hack. I had set a release date, and that really rushed things along cause people were always criticizing when I didnt have it ready (underestimated the beta phase)

Of course take your time

Let me release mine first, so i get the attention first

nah don't rush it, i'm not rushing mine, although i did expect a beta in sometime August (this month!) but that was an estimate when i started which i never announced (back in last year September) yep it's like 1 whole year soon.

locking the rom is probably not going to fix the problem with people stealing the work (it's rather... easy to unlock) for those quite good with hex editing.

One good way to make sure people can't copy your work is to redo the compression formula (and of course fixing the rest of the data into the new one) but that's kinda hard.

That's why, I get the most pictures I can get to show you guys that the Z3 hacking community isn't dead yet... Since the editor first release there weren't has many hacks compared to SMW... That's a shame since I really consider Z3 as one of the greatest games ever... Oh, and the fact that GameMakr24 isn't finish yet with his Quest of Catalia, was reason enough to start working on Gates of Darkness... Been like three years already since he's teasing us... I'll do everything to not make you guys wait this long, cuz I know it's a real pain in the ass to WAIT for something you really want to try...

LOL, don't worry, I won't make mine in time before yours; you're way ahead of me! Well As I recall I only started this project like (is it 2 months?)... and you right now are about to start your 11th ? ... And I gonna ask you about that compression method of yours someday, say in a year or so... LOL, when the final hack be released..

Well that's what I think at least... Because having to make a release date, is surely the worst thing you can do, unless you are really sure... Well, maybe I should start focusing more on the Dark World, then revamping the Light World so much... And Garmichael showed me some of his work on the dungeons, looks great... Now I just got to find Blackhole89, which was making the plot; or find someone competent to do it, because to make great dungeon layouts we need inspiration from the story itself.... Or else they will be usual dungeons...
