| Here's something to try - throw a boomerang up at an angle, then jump off a cliff and hookshot to the side of the cliff, and just hang there dangling from the hookshot. When the boomerang hits you you'll fly in to the air. Really, really high. From there you can toss bombs down. You're so far up that most of them won't even get on to the screen, though, but if you get good you can toss up to three down and have them hit. One thing I like is to make a few bombs on either side of the opponent and come down with the down + A so that if they flee, the bombs will hit them in to the sword, and if they don't, they get hit by the sword, and if they try to block their shield takes heavy damage. It's no good in tourney play but it's fun to do. | |||

I basically like all the characters (even though I suck at all of them) but the only character I'm good at is Roy. He's really strong, but just not as fast as Marth. When I'm fighting with Roy I like to use counter attacks a lot and the power moves. Roy's the best character there is!  |

| I guess you can say that Marth's better but in my opinion Roy is. I think Roy is much stronger that Marth but just not as fast is all. By the Way....When you here Marth's fighter stance (press up on the D-Pad while playing) does anybody know what he's saying?  I think I have an idea but I'm not sure. |

| He's talking about an English translation, obviously. I found this from the largest Melee FAQ on GameFAQs... It's a direct copy so the spacing isn't right, but you should be able to figure it out. What Did Marth and Roy Say? Because Fire Emblem, at the moment Super Smash Bros. Melee came out, was a Japan-only game, they never had to learn the English language. As I type this though, and it may have already occurred by the time you read this, they are making Fire Emblem Advance, coming out in the US. We'll finally be able to make sense of their characters then, but for now, you can read about what they actually say: If Marth says... It means in English: Bokura makeru wake-ni-wa ikanainda. I |

Um, except that I've never seen any of Fire Emblem 3 translated so for all I know it could be totally in character. ^-^;; Actually, wait, it does suit his pose. I was thinking of Roy's pose. Marth's pose is where he stands back and twirls his sword a bit, right? Yeah, kinda suits it. |

| Marth and Roy's sayings are a bit cliche, then. It's ok with me, they still rule, but I always thought he was actually taunting his foe, like how Capt. Falcon says that obnoxious "Show me your moves!" But then again, the taunts seem to be both for getting attention and for taunting, like how Yoshi jumps up and down like he did in Yoshi's Story when he found something. Or how Mewtwo always laughs triumphantly and does a little jig. |

I wouldn't say that there is any best charachter, mainly becuse diffrent players use diffrent tactics and plays the game diffrently.  My favorite is Mario. And he is the one I play best with.  Roy is one of the harder opponets for me, but he is very easy to beat with peach. hehe... I always play with items, some charachter have benefits that only appears with items. (such as how good bowser takes up boxes) And I like how Roy and Marth speaks Japanse, it fits to their look.  |

| I can kill someone from 0% with one combo. All I need is a Screw Ball and I can can kill anyone instantly. I just jump twice then imidiatly throw the item at them and then very quickly hit them up in mid air and they die. Of course this wont work if the stage goes down low and if the opponent is too heavy. If you dont like Items then you suck. Items make the game fun, and if you were decent at the game youd know how to avoid them or use them to your advantage. I can win just fine without items but the items are what make the game fun. And what the point of playing if your not having fun? |

| Luigi or Samus. a particualrly evil thing to do is to set it to super sudden death, handicap of 9, stock 99 damage 2.0, flatzone, and PAUSE OFF just to torment them with the fact they cannot back out.... oh yeah, and all characters being jigglypuff just makes it even better. | People who plays on Final destination with items and think they are great becuse doing that are boring people. (people who play on the same stage over and over again are boring...) I play with items BTW, sometimes I turn off the Heart and Maxim tomato (as thoose two are really annoying when the opponent get's it) but otherwise I have items turned on.
