Take it to PM's. And while you're at it, start saying more about the songs. I don't want to have to set a rule, but a pithy paragraph'll be plenty. (Lyrics don't count. )

np: Glassjaw: "Tip Your Bartender"

Remember how I referred to a collaboration between this band's singer and Finch as being "batshit"? Well, here's proof of where that comes from. Fairly chaotic hardcore with feh lyrics. Although for some reason, it works when he screamsings "fashion is a war between the guilty and the guilty and the guilty and the guilty and the teen". The chorus is also quite swanktastic, too... they even work in a key change without completely pissing me off.

'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea' by Neutral Milk Hotel
These guys are great, it's a nice blend of acoustic guitar, fuzzed bass, some electronics(not too noticeable), and brass.

Really cerebral and surreal stuff pulled off without sounding like over-compressed garbage.

i'm listening to a band that i played with last night, these guys are pretty cool and have a great sound. what is even better is that they are really young and quite talented. anyways their name is Rudely Awakened...pretty cool if you like post hardcore/emo music. their songs can be found at:

www.purevolume.com/rudelyawakened

they remind me of another young band that i'm friends with but have never had the priviledge of playing with myself and these guys are Protest The Hero. they opened up for Korn and Limp Bizkit last year when they came to Toronto. they are another huge young band (still in high school). their music can be found at:

www.protestthehero.com

once i get some of my band's stuff up on the internet i'll post a link letting you guys hear us...it'd be nice to have some feedback on it either positive or negative...cause if we are doing a good job great and if not there's always room to improove.

think of emo bands because a lot of emo bands are tied in closely with post hardcore.

give a listen to Rudely Awakened and you'll get a feel for that type of music, whether you like it or not doesn't really matter its just so you know what i'm talking about.

a couple of their songs can be found at:

Funny thing is... I been to about 8 concerts, except for one (Tom Petty which cost 45), my average concert ticket is 12 bucks, and thats for bands that arn't too popular but are mainstream.

A female friend of mine goes to a concert every other week on average and has been for the last 3 years and I only seen a few ticket stumps that cost more than 20 bucks. So the concert Ticket thing is totally wrong, unless you're going to some music fest or seeing some huge band live (Metallica, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Etc).

Listening To..
Acid Bath - Old Skin.

Nothing like a minute long demanted poem, eh?

Next is...

Acid Bath - THe Beautiful Downgrade

Pretty much like the last, just longer (1:39)

After that is...

Acid Bath - 13 Fingers

Even though I don't have the slightest clue what this song is suppose to be about really, its pretty good. Lyrics are outthere, pretty heavy, vocals are pretty good. I prefer their cleaner vocals but they can pull off good metal vocals as well.

yeah actually Apple's right...concert tickets are really cheap. i have only ever had to pay above $40 twice when i went to go see The Deftones w/ Thrice, Thursday and then when i saw Blink182 w/ Taking Back Sunday, The Used. every other time i've gone to see a concert its cost me about $20 or so.

Actually, DON'T think of emo bands. I know what you mean (and technically, you are correct) but when you say emo, people nowadays think of tripe like Dashboard Confessional and New Found Glory.

kornfan: You don't get it. Posts like this are unacceptable:

I'm listeing to more korn! Big surprise...

Not really because of the content, there's not enough of it. I'm closing this thread for a few hours. Do NOT start another thread like this while it's closed.

EDIT: This thread's open again. Since I see no new copycats, you seem to get the rules. I don't want the bad apples to spoil everyone's fun, which is why it took me so long to take the step of closing it. I don't want to do that again, but if I have to, I will and I might not open this thread again.

If I see a preponderance of one or two-sentence posts, it's over. If you don't say anything of substance, you very well could kill this thread. The post I referenced earlier is a prime example of how to get this thread shut down. DO NOT post like that again. You know who you are, and the good posters know who they are. To them, I say:

thanks for all the replies keep em comming

I'm going to try and rectify my earlier post. I'm listening to a korn song called blind. It's from their self-titled album, and it is totally addictive. The drums on this album are phenominal, and the rest of the band is very musically inclined also. I would reccomend this album to anyone who likes slipknot, because they sound like SK was influenced heavily by early korn.

Way to break your own rules

Currently listening to the gameover music for Time Splitter's II since I just died on it, currently trying to find a song on my computer.

*finds it a few moments later*

Heavenly - Lust For life

This is currently one of my favourite non-Acid Bath or Death songs. I like the music in this song; it makes the song in my opinion. The druming and guitars are good and mesh together well. The song is very power metalish, I suggest it to fans of that genre (or metal in general).

Kinda hard when you're not listening to anything. (SMITE) ;P

np: My Chemical Romance: "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)"

Can't say I'm really big on these guys. They try to be way too clever with the song titles for their own good, and in spite of their own hype, their music's basically generic scream-punk. And wouldn't ya know it, where are they from? Southern New Joisey. They, along with Taking Back Sunday, reinforce my belief that nothing good, music-wise, can come from that area. (Amended because as it turns out, TBS is from Long Island, not Jersey. )
