I just rolled/flipped my car today (not sure which, because my car was facing the opposite direction,... maybe a little of both) and it feels really odd. It feels like it never even happened, as if it were just a bad dream, but I still know that it's true. It all seems like a blurr, and I can't even seem to remember what exactly happened (at least not in detail that is). I never went unconscious, and only got a small cut on my arm, so I'm very thankful for that, but I'm still a little freaked about the whole thing. Also when it flipped, I landed rightside up in the passengers side of the car,... (basically sitting on the inside of the roof) I don't know how the hell it happened, but I think I'm very glad for that,...and luckily, I wasn't wearing my seat beat. I really can't imagine what would have happened if I had it on, because after the Car stopped, and judging by how I landed, I think I might have been in mid air as the car rolled over (it just rolled half of a time, and stopped after that). Well, I have to go right at the moment, but I'll talk about it some more in a bit. (my car might be driveable still , I don't think I totaled it) |

I was going down a dirt/graveled road and I cut the corner while going to fast, and I made that part alright, but as soon as I came around the corner to the strait part of the road, I was starting to loose control (I was fishtailing) and regained control for a second, but then I think I hit a small bump (it was a buch of little rivity-like bumps) in the road with one of my tires and lost control again and went off the side of the road and rolled/flipped the car at that point (the car some how turned around and rolled upsidedown). | |||

That's the kind of stuff you see in movies or in Cops Worst accident I've had was getting hit in the back very lightly because I braked abruplty and it was really snowy... Anyways... What happened after you had the accident? What kind of vehicle do they use to put the car back on its wheels? |

Wow, that's scary. I'm in Drivers Ed now and they're talking about how all these people died and how these people got into accidents on videos and stuff. It's like Scared Straight, they show you all this stuff to make you not want to drive or something . You're lucky to be alive though. Not having your seatbelt on and all. I'll always wear my seatbelt. I don't wanna die, that's how my moms sister and her husband, son died. So she always tells us to put ours on. The only type of wreck I've been in was when my mom stopped at this red light and the guy behind her thought she was gonna go and hit us from the back. The bumper was barely damaged. Last weekend my mom was so dazed and forgot to put on the brake and the car rolled into the motor home. I tried to jump in the front seat to stop it but I was too late . There's a little dent from where it hit the tire thingy. Oh yeah, that same day my dad had a blowout on that same RV |

They had a Dodge Ram, I'm not sure what year it was, but the body was made of Steel, so it was an Older Truck (maybe from the 80's). It was also lifted off the ground pretty high (that seemed to be how it was originally designed). So to get the car on it's wheels again, they put some kind of band around it that had a chain attached to it, then put it in 4 Wheel Drive and pulled it right up without a problem. As for what happened afterwards: I'm perfectly fine (I didn't even get thrown around at all, it was as if I was practicaly invincible for a second and unaffected by gravity), but as for the car,... it's roof got smashed in at the front,... but the guys who helped me get the car up, also pushed the roof back up, so it's mostly just dented a lot and the frame is slightly bent. And the lower area of the car was basically untouched, it just has a few small/medium size dents on the sides. |

Well you'll know not to go so fast anymore around corner's that's for sure. Last time I was in an accident it was me going downhill at 60 MPH and my hood lock was rusted and it flew up into my car's windshield while going downhill in a stick shift. Yea. So I had to make sure that I wasn't going to hit any highway traffic and thank god no one was around, as per what my side mirrors were telling me, I slowed to a stop on the right side of the road with a few glass shards in my face. Lucky for me that the hood stopped there and didn't go through and smash me. Never fun to drive without being able to see through your windshield. |

Bella: That really sucks about the RV and the Car (and the coincidence of how it happend to the same RV which had the blow out on the same day). That kinda reminds me of what happened yesterday. I was in the car with my friend Eric, and he mentioned again to me how he's never really wrecked before (except for one time, but he only had to replace the front tires, and there was no other damage at all), and I told him not to jinx himself by talking about it so much, but for some reason, it seemed that bad luck came my way. Also yesterday, my friend Lizxz ("Liz") was joking by saying that he might end up on the news in some horrible wreck or something,... because he's driven while being Stoned and even on Shrooms many times before, and has always driven perfectly,... yes, drugs are bad, but he's going to be quiting pretty soon (he hasn't done anything other than those two types,... and getting drunk, but that's it). It's all so weird, because today, I went for a fun little drive around my neighborhood, and this is what happens (not so fun anymore ), right after the stuff my friends and I were joking about yesterday. Well, it looks like I won't have anything to drive for quite a while . I hate to make Driving sound like a scary thing for you. But if you don't speed very much (especially on dirt roads, and hills) and you're good at paying close attention, then you should be just fine (never go over 10 MPH on paved roads, and don't go over the speed limit at all on dirt roads, even if you feel like you can handle it easily,... and go extra slow on hills, whether or not they're dirt or paved). Also, don't make it a habbit of slaming on the brakes (when driving on icy roads or on sharp curves), that's usually one of the worst things that you can do (I didn't do it, and I'm not sure if it was better or worse this time), because your car may easily spin out of control or even roll (unless your going strait, then your car will just skid forward a little and stop). It's usually best to slow down as much as you can, but not until your tires stop spinning, because then they'll just slide. Hiryuu: Yea, no one was around with me either, so at least it's only my own damage that I have to pay for. (edited by Atma X on 06-23-04 09:43 PM) (edited by Atma X on 06-24-04 04:08 PM) |

I've been in about six car accidents (none my fault) and three of which, I shouldn't even be here today. It's not something you want to get into. I mean, it's mentally draining, and it takes a lot from your pocket and your time. I'm glad that you are posting this. Means that you are alive, which is the best outcome in anything like this...I mean, sure, the car's messed up, but that's not the biggest factor when it comes to car accidents. |

Does it give you any haunting memeories when thinking about it, and is it hard to stop thinking about for a while? (I would suppose that that's what you meant by mentally draining, and constantly thinking about how it could have been prevented) Even if I'm not really thinking about it, I still feel like I'm subconsiously thinking about it, and I find it hard to focus or pay any attention to anything. If somebody's talking to me, I only seem to hear half of what their saying because my head seems like it's somewhere else (is this normal?, if so, how long did it take you to stop thinking about it so much?). |

Can't say that I remember how long it too me each time to get over it...I mean, only three of six were that bad, so those took me a while to get over. First one I was a kid and we were hit by a drunk driver that made the car spin and the window that I was next to, shatter and I had to get stiches. Then there was the time when my mom and I were hit by a school bus in our mini van, and few inches and my head might have been chopped off. Then, within the same year (I was a teenager during these too) a truck hit us on my mother's side of the same van and we almost tipped over. I don't want to go into much deatil, but you get the jest of it. Try to keep yourself busy, maybe listening to music might help you out as well. |

Yea, I understand, I wouldn't like to go into detail about that either (the only reason I went into any detail was because it just happened yesterday) I'm starting to forget about it some, so hopefully I'll stop remembering it pretty soon (at least for the most part). I think if I had another car to drive, it wouldn't bother me as much (because I mostly feel bad because I wrecked it while being somewhat careless). It looks like the body is the only thing that needs replacing (I guess I could pick up another body from the junkyard). My dad used to have an exrta Car Body, but he already got rid of it about a month ago. So I'll be without a Car for a while, which will make it very hard to get to school (college) in the Fall. |
