Hello everyone!
I was bored, so I made that little hack with some bytes adds to add animation frame to some map tiles in Smb3.Now it's a little more funky
Check it if you're bored and have nothing to do

That is very nice looking! It's very cool how a little bit of animation can spice up and bring to life something like the map, which usually doesn't get as much attention as the levels themselves. Good job Jaspile.

Nice... the level ones are a bit much, and I wouldn't use the mushrooms in THAT situation (although they are good), but I'm feeling the roads, coins, and Fortress.

The mushroom houses looks... wierd. And little scary...

But very nice, heck. SMB3: Las vegas. I like how it moves and all.

You get the illusion of conveyors on the roads, looks nice but wierd.

Just one thing, though ... to add all the map animations, did you have to overwrite tank graphics? If so, world 8 is going to be fun

That certainly makes a difference, though

That's pretty cool-looking, except for the mushroom houses, as they look kind of odd. The fortress and the levels look the best, more... alive.

I have to agree that the mushroom houses have a creepy effect. Whether or not this is intentional, I dunno, but it seems like they're saying "Enter for fun items...OF DOOM!"

I find it wierd, but not creepy.

I also downloaded it and blazed through W1 and loaded the first level of 8... no change.

Since, if I'm right, there are 4 sets of tiles that repeat and a lot of them don't, he probably just changed them, too.

Makes sense, although ... not to terribly fond of the level graphics

looks neat. I'm with Xk on his pinion on the level graphics, but I also think the lockblock could look cool fith the fortress's shimmer effect. nice work

I didn't overwrited anything, I just added some space into the rom for my graphics.
Oh and the mushroom houses are Toad's head (I ripped him from Sma4), so the map isn't supposed to be realistic
thanks for all your comments

That looks really good; I want to download it and play it now!

The only animation I didn't like was the level signs. I liked how the original used that jagged line separating blue and black areas; the actual levels have the same layout (where you get the card at the end), so it's like a leven in microcosm.

But the moving spade rocks most of all.

I guess I'm the only one who likes the evil Toad head cannibal mushroom houses.

Still, very nice! Since the image is kinda small, I can't tell: Is the water around the castle animated?

No it isn't. Actually, water tiles are dispatched in a big mess in the rom so I didn't bother with that
