Well, congrats. I'm in the process of graduating. I've only got two exams left now. It's math on Monday, and I think I'll need all the luck I can get. The sort of odd thing though, is that I and every other Norwegian graduate have already celebrated our graduation, before we actually graduate (with plenty of stuff to drink, I might add ). But that's the way it works in Norway. |

I have a few job possibilities open. But a 12 year streak of education is just about enough for now. I could ofcourse continue studying, but a) I don't bloody want to, not right away at any rate and b) by then the things I have learned during these last three years would be obsolete already. I had two glasses of champagne and three glasses of cider. That doesn't even qualify YOU, mr "^___________ |

(Yes, that was exactly my reaction when he told this to me. ) Who needs school when you can capitalize on your skills and earn some cash, right? Now you can just relax for a bit, work on your side projects... and watch Sweden hopefully do well in the Euros. |

Kool I still have 3 years todo that but luckily once I graduate high school ill also have a vocational degree so it will cut down college time. I would really reccomend furthering your education since graduating from high school really doesnt make you qualify for that much any more. | |||

Congrats on the graduation. But Max and Jesper why are your layouts taking so long to load? This thread took about three minutes to display fully on my connection, and most other threads come up in a second or two. (edited by MathOnNapkins on 06-05-04 07:14 AM) |

Originally posted by JarukothThis isn't your fault, but people that say that annoy the fuck out of me. I've spent the last three years learning stuff. In three years I can either a) work my way up to a decent salary, and get some experience working, or b) I can go to school for three more years despite being tired of going to school, and learn the same stuff I'll learn by going to work and keeping in touch with the new things in the industry, and still have as much work experience as I have now (next to none). People forget that when you've worked for a while, especially in the computer industry, and especially if you work for a company that "gets it", you will get education through your work. You will go to courses, you will get time while working that you can use to catch up with new stuff, and you will continually update yourself by working on new projects. You essentially get the gist of what you would get by going to school, except that in most cases you won't have had a teacher, and you won't get a grade. Employers with their head on straight will know that work experience counts just as much as education, and if you manage to keep yourself updated without going to school, that counts for a lot, right? |
