...notice that I only listed progamming languages that are made for running on a computer. Not on a server.

Bet that some Cobol programmer probably got offended by not mentioning them. xD

PHP is not a simple server side script you know. BUt since you didn't include it, then yay for C++

Yeah true... and actually servers are computers but anyway. Should have said Personal Computer. xP

Cobol for the ones who don't know it, is a old language with alot of fanatics. But it's not used very much nowdays. It's far from dead thought...

Cobol seems weird. I doubt I would try it.

Has Cobol even been used past the 1960's? What about Pascal, for that matter?

I learned programming in Basic on a Commodore 64...it doesn't suck as much as QBasic (the WORST programming language I have EVER seen), but it's uber-slow, even for a C64...

Cobol is still used by some people, ask Jesper.

And Pascal evolved into the Delphi programming language.

Cobol sounds old, and before today I think I've never heard of it.

I've never used it, but I've heard that Cobol was designed so that managers and other non-computer people could read the code...naturally, geeks objected, and turned to languages such as C.

I wonder why some people find some languages hard. If I know how to read, Cobol was easy to understand. But hell , how could it be easier than other languages?

Hmm, I have seen cobol code and I didnt find it that easy to read. But then it maybe was the hard type of cobol.

Java is easy to understand when reading, same with Delphi. I don't know about C++ but it's quite similar to java...

Well, but they do use newer versions of thoose programming languages. VB and Delphi.

I hadn't seen how Pascal looks like, but probably not much diffrent from Delphi.
