Spoiler for SS after the SD tapings tonight...

Spoiler:
JBL beat Taker in a #1 Contender match when Orton interfered with a RKO on Taker. So they're going to run with Batista/JBL again, I guess...

So I saw Raw a few weeks ago, was it Matt Hardy who jumped out of the crowd and beat the crap out of Edge (like, a real fight) before Edge and Kane's Cage Match?

It was funny, I was just browsing the TV and turned it to that, and saw that. It was hilarious, can't say I've really seen something like that in Wrestling ever happen before.

They're making it out to seem like it's a shoot, but it's a work (with the exception that Matt did get in some stiff shots the first time). Matt does have a new WWE contract.

It was a work, but they laid some nice tricks down, including Matt namedropping ROH, and making some comments towards Johnny Ace.

Not sure if I like this whole "worked shoot" atmosphere that WWE and WWE.com are taking towards the product. It's certainly not bringing loads of people in, since it seems they've already dropped the ball on Hardy.

Something to note:

Vince hates the Internet fans, the "smarks" if you will. So I'm presuming the "worked shoot" feeling is pretty much purely to out-smart the "smarks".

Actually, the whole theme recently's been weird with shootish stuff appearing on wwe.com and so forth. I mean, look at Shawn Michaels last week when he parodied Hogan; lots of the stuff that he said was TRUE (such as the line about Hogan only wrestling in the big cities).

It's likely one of those spur of the moment things that WWE will push for three months or so before dropping it.

Shawn saying those things is not only just being a shooter, but refusing to play the heel against the mega-face Hogan. They're interviewing Kevin Nash to defend that Hogan was power-hungry, etc, and I'm just wondering why Shawn can't put his beliefs aside for a few weeks and play the bad guy and then retire again for a few months.

Seems like there's weird stuff going on.

I randomely turned Raw on last night to see Hogan and Micheals ranting about each other, and I was -very- surprised Hogan was even allowed to mention "Bret Hart", whom Shawn and Vince really did screw over (pissed me off, Hart has always been one of my favorites).

Regardless, I'd like to see this Hogan - HBK match, I'm sure it'll be good.

I think they are working out some kind of reconciliation with Bret Hart for that incident right now. They are releasing a Bret Hart DVD pretty soon, so they probably want to work out something with him to promote it.

Hart's already come in to do his work for the DVD, although that might be the extent of their deal. I'm not sure. Odds are Vince might have asked him for the OK on the reference.

Question...

Did anyone else start screaming when they heard Bret Hart's music earlier tonight on RAW? I was hoping that he'd at least come in as a special guest referee or something for HBK's match against Hogan at SS. Shawn Michaels screwed Bret at Survivor Series, and this is as good a chance as any to return the favor... but you know the WWE, always missing out on opportunities for great pops.

It ain't gonna happen. Trust me on that. If it does I'd be personally shocked.

One HELL of a promo by Shawn tonight though. Geez... my hometown fans were ready to lynch him.

That was awesome on the crowds reaction when HBK first came out. I was ready for something to happen. I didn't expect them to chant "Shut the fuck up" though. I was kind of wondering what they were chanting seeing as they censored it. Good thing I can somewhat read lips.

Good start and end, but everything else in-between was more or less crap, and I'm not sure yet if it's good news that the Diva Search is over.

Two handicap matches was one too many--and some would argue the second one was pointless as well, until Jericho slid in and hit that wicked and borderline unsafe chairshot on Cena.

Although Rob Conway's new gimmick is genius, it's not going to draw flies unless he does something meaningful with it.

Kurt Angle's intensity and endless amount of saliva made the middle part of the show a little bit better, and it seems obvious that they're grooming Angle to take a run at Cena's belt. I just hope that Angle plays the straight man and doesn't try to get goofy to upstage Cena.

I rather enjoyed HBK running out during Hogan/Angle, nailing Hogan and then more or less dying. I'm not sure what to think of the referee using both his hands to lift Hogan's limp arm, though. Seems a little forced.

They were foolish to leave Matt Hardy off this show six days from the big match, as if the feud hasn't already lost enough steam by Hardy getting signed back to WWE by Vince.

As for Bret's music playing during HBK's awesome promo, I was expecting the Bret midget infamous for making his appearance the night after the Survivor Series fiasco. I'm sure that little guy isn't getting much money anywhere else.

TSN in Canada was trying like nuts to censor the chant.

The French chants directed at Lita were pretty bad too; one of them was talking about her smelling like... erm... a woman's crotch. Yeah.

Well if nothing else, it's good to know I'm not the only one who finds the smell of "a woman's crotch" unpleasant.

Haven't actually watched the product in awhile, though.

EDIT: By "the product" I mean WWE programming, not vagina.

Well, Montreal fans are always insane so if nothing else, they alone might have sold some PPV buys by making Shawn look like the biggest prick in wrestling today.

(Well, it's a half-truth.)

The Shawn Michaels prick character is the greatest angle of all time. He plays it perfectly, even if he's completely christian about it.

The SmackDown! end of the PPV seems interesting. I'm going to like the ladder match, shitty angle or not. The Batista/JBL NHB match should be decent. I'm looking for some massive chair shots! Also, I'm looking forward to the Benoit/Jordan match, as Benoit is pretty much the ultimate mid-carder. I really hope Undertaker loses. He's getting old and needs to retire soon.

I'm extremely excited about SummerSlam. I really hope Angle beats Eugene's ass, because the whole retard character, although extremely funny, is old.

I'll be rooting for Shawn all the way. I believe he's the most talented wrestler of all time (he's got great in-ring ability, unbelievable charisma, and awesome mic skills. The perfect package!), and I really want him to beat Hogan's face in. Shawn could out-perform Hogan any day. Too bad stupid WWE is going to let Hogan get over on Michaels.

Finally, what does everyone think about the rumored return of Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam? Personally, I believe it's bullshit, but it'd be awesome if it were to happen. Lesnar's return is imminent, after the whole failed NFL experience and all.

PS: Go Matt Hardy! Beat Edge's face in, and break Lita's knee again XD!!!

EDIT: Forgot about the Jericho/Cena match. I'm guessing Cena's going to win. His popularity is enormous and to end his run now would just kill ratings.
