Either they're gonna bring Matt back soon to work an angle with Edge or he can ask for a lot more on the independent scene. He's TNA + ROH for sure if that's the case.

As for Smackdown tomorrow... without going into spoiler detail, all I'll say is that WWE creative was on FIRE. There must have been a hell of a lot of booze and coke backstage, because they couldn't possibly have booked the show sober.

Uhhh... is that a good thing for a SD show?

OH. MY. GOD.

I just went to a local indy show tonight... TREMENDOUS. Only one bad match and EVERYONE brought their A-game. The big stars brought in were Chris Sabin, B-Boy, Colt Cabana and Samoa Joe, and they all did what they had to do.

Cabana had a match with Beef Wellington that's probably match of the year from a comedy standpoint. Not only were they making my friend and I piss our pants, but the trash talking (which Cabana continued with in the main event) was incredible.

...You haven't lived until you've seen Cabana in the main event getting the crowd to start singing "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benetar. XD

Expect to see a few familiar names in the indies, Colleen. Names like, oh...

* Matt Morgan
* Charlie Haas
* Jackie Gayda
* Marty Jannetty
* Dawn Marie
* Mark Jindrak
* Maven
* Shannon Moore
* James Yun (Akio)
* David Heath (Gangrel)
* Billy Kidman
* Spike Dudley
* Kevin Fertig
* Kenzo Suzuki

And they aren't re-upping with the other Dudleys, either. And Dave Metzler allegedly says there's even MORE on the way... eight to 10. Yeeeeesh.

EDIT: DOWN GOES KENZO! DOWN GOES KENZO! Wonder if they'll keep Hiroko. Betting the answer there is, as the kids say, "nein".

And down goes Joy as well! (Hiroko's done as well, which is a real shame.)

So at least 5 more to go... Wow. We are SO not seeing syndicated versions of Heat and Velocity this fall.

The funny thing? The MEXICOOLS probably won't be part of this purge. That's insane.

And of course... BROCK is 99% back.

Why would the Mexicools be in this? They just brought them in.

I don't think Heat or Velocity are going to survive the return to USA. No time slot.

They could always take the place of Bottom Line/Afterburn in the syndicated markets. :\

Mexicools won't get cut only because they were just signed and I would imagine breaching a contract a matter of weeks into a deal means a hefty payout.

Add Jim Cornette and (drumroll please)...

...The Dudley Boys, of all people, to the list, drjay. Quite possibly one of the dumbest moves WWE could have done to thier tag division, IMO. Also, some reasons have been given for some of the releases, yet none for the Dudleys. Weird...

They just chose not to resign the Dudleys. Their contracts are coming up in a few months and won't be renewed, so it's not really a release.

Cornette... wow. This all happened because... *drumroll please*

Cornette slapped Johnny Geo Basco backstage numerous times after Geo Basco laughed during what was supposed to be a serious scary angle.

As part of Marty Wright's new WWE persona as The Boogey Man, Cornette had introduced the character as a dangerous man, citing a worked criminal record and a background as being a sociopathical liar (off his "liar" nickname), citing he had been kicked out of the "Tough Enough" competition for lying (true) and based on a background check (untrue).

Wright did a run-in during the show, and Geo Basco, in front of the fans, started laughing at Wright instead of acting scared.

Cornette lost his temper, began yelling, and reportedly slapped him several repeatedly. The general feeling of those who were there, as Cornette's actions were witnessed by dozens, was that he was right in yelling at the guy, because he had messed up a major angle, but the slapping couldn't be defended.

Unlike with JBL, whose striking injured someone while Cornette didn't intend to or damage Geo Basco, Cornette was already on thin ice over a series of incidents, and was nearly fired two months ago for losing his temper on a number of occasions. There are expectations this will cost his WWE job.

Personally, this didn't warrant the boot IMO.

Um... what exactly is wrong with Brock?

The cuts are needed but they're also hilarious because so much blood is being spilled. One reason for this is that the USA deal, financially, isn't as great as the Spike TV deal; also, if the weekend syndicated shows now have original matches as is rumored, expect to see a parade of jobbers just like old times.

HOLY SHIT. Let me be the first to say it:

Matt Hardy came back on Raw last night, and beat the hell out of Edge in what was quite possibly the single greatest work in wrestling history. Either that, or Matt Hardy has completely lost his mind. Either way, it sole the show by a LONGSHOT.

Discuss.

That was fucking awesome when Matt said that the WWE can kiss his ass. So he's going to be on ROH or either go to TNA. Either way he's better off than going back to the WWE. Plus if anyone caught it he used Edge's real name and Amy's character name while talking to them. Maybe a slip up or he's just more pissed at Adam than Amy. *shrugs* All I know that Matt appearing and taking down Edge was awesome.

Well, evidently the part about Matt BEING there is a work; what's up for debate is whether he was supposed to say what he said.

Given he evidently mentioned RoH, I'm actually inclined to say it was a work. Remember, RoH is (If I hear right) presently involved in an angle wherein one of their stars was purportedly going to WWE; on the night of what was supposed to be his last match, he basically said "LOL FOOLED YOU ALL!1!1" and...that's the last I know of it. But anyway, this seems to me to be the WWE's taking the idea and repacking it slightly (Instead of "going to WWE OOPS NO I R NOT LOLZ!1!!" it's "O noes i r fired OOPS I HAV THE JOB WITH WWEs LOLZOR1!110".

I've also heard that the McMahons have more than a passing interest in RoH, though I don't know how true that is, nor what that even means. I'm thinking it could lead to something like the FIRST "invasion" by ECW in the mid-late 90s; RoH stars appearing on the occasional WWE show.

Matt Hardy faces Christopher Daniels at ROH this weekend.

Wouldn't it be funny to see an Edge run-in? (Actually, that MIGHT have to be a no-contest or draw finish since it's WWE vs. TNA.)

Speaking of "making the cut..."

Does anyone know just when the Boogeyman will make his debut, and with which brand? I'm curious to know, as a gimmic like that has an equal chance of making as with breaking. He could be well-received on Raw, possibly on SD as well if he feuds with Taker (then again, he IS already feuding with Hassan and Orton, so he'd pretty much be left with his hands full if they did that).

Smackdown it looks like. Sounds like another case of an OVW guy being promoted WAY before he's ready.

If you think he's going to be on SD! then why are they showing his promo on RAW, Colleen? Oh and here's something about the Boogeyman. Along with two pics of him... he does look dashing, doesn't he? /sarcasm

The Boogyman is Marty Wright, the contestant from Tough Enough who lied about his age and was therefore kicked off the show. Either way he was rehired and has been training down in OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling), and is set to debut at anytime now.

The Boogyman was actually the wrestler that the trainee down in OVW was laughing at, which caused Jim Cornette to slap the trainee, thus getting himself fired last week.

Well actually, they've been showing the same promos on SD, so it could be either one at this point. My guess isi Raw, though. If I remember correctly, I think I recall reading somewhere that he was at a Raw road show against Doug Basham.

Oh, and in other news, following the events of GAB, it's gonna be Taker vs. Batista for the World Title at SummerSlam.

I think he's on SD because his dark matches have been on SD house shows and that's usually a good indicator of what brand someone's heading to. Lots of people have had promos on both Raw/SD before debuting.

I think they're changing that match since Taker/Batista is face/face at the moment and that doesn't sound too promising. One rumor I heard was making it into a four-way - Batista/UT/JBL/Orton. Would make sense plus you have a bunch of storylines in that match (Batista/JBL, Batista/Orton, UT/Orton...)
