We interrupt your regular discussion to bring you this:

The WrestleCrap 2004 Gooker Award winner is...The Diva Search! It beat out such crap-tastic angles as Heidenreich-Poet Laurate, Voodoo Booker T, and Just About Everything Kane Did Last Year.

Congratulations, I think.

Okay, that's all.

...Yeah, the Diva Search win is about right because it took up SO MUCH VALUABLE TIME.

I love WrestleCrap.

Batista did a small ad-lib interview with 1wrestling recently, he thinks the guys on SD simply don't care for the show since it is all taped and thus if they make any mistakes it can be taped over again. He also said they wonder more about where they are going after the show rather than what they are doing on the show, which strikes me as harsh but I guess when you're on RAW you can't exactly 'praise' the opposition.

He also said British fans were best no, really he did, he said he thinks Americans can be a little spoiled about their wrestling so they don't care so much, in Britain we cheer anyways. Batista then said his favourite wrestler growing up was the Warlord..... at which point I stopped reading the interview.

They'll problably just have the current Show/Angle/JBL card end with a DQ with either Jindrak/Reigns and/or Jordan/Bashams interfiering, though it's nice to have the last couple title defenses or so in a row stray away from that.

As far as trading goes, the only real "trade" rumors I've heard was HBK for Angle, which would work better than Cena for Orton. Regardless, it'd take some time to get used to seeing any of these 4 on different shows with the current storylines they have brewing up.

And yet there's talk about having HBK and Angle face off at WM.

I wonder what the hell Batista was on if those were shoot comments. He has a point though - SD is *RARELY* shown live and is taped 99% of the time, and there usually are edits made...

The taping schedule after the Royal Rumble is fun though - on the 31st, you have an experiment as the WWE is going to tape RAW, Smackdown, Heat and Velocity all in one night in San Jose. Then both RAW and SD the following week will be taped from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Seph: it would be nice to watch a title defence that didn't have one team win with cheating, or interference....

it's stupid how often the "bad guys" have to cheat to win....

it's honestly rather annoying...

what the WWE should introduce is a loss of title on DQ clause in the title matches.... that was, if the Champion gets a DQ on himself, or somehow gets DQ'd, then he loses the title....

and I guess in the case of a triple threat match.... the title is up in the air for the 2 that remained in the match for the next time their show is on...

it might reduce all the cheating endings.... which are a huge dissapointment

The sad thing is that us, the viewers, can come up with some better ideas than what they're doing. Except if you want to give them some ideas they will automatically decline the e-mail you send them and I'm not sure what they do about written letters.

The rest of the show was not without it's share of moments. The Eugene segment was absolutely hilarious.

I'm surprised there's still so many fans of this thing ...

I honestly lost interest in like 8th grade when it became WWE alone, and all these new Wrestlers started to come in, go really repetitive and boring.

I know I don't have much to say agains't a 35 page Thread of fans, but I just honestly don't think it's that great anymore, whenever I turn to watch it these days I just laugh.

HULKAMANIA WILL RUN WILD ON YOU FOREVER BROTHA (But I don't laugh at that, Hogan was wewt)

The NWO was cool too, back in 5th grade when it was in WCW.

At the Rumble, Eddie stole Flair's number in the RR. Then, he picked his pocket, and stole his wallet. Flair gets pissed / has a seizure again. Hilarity.

On the subject of Raw: Anyone notice Batista's facial expression on the way back? Methinks HHH isn't going to be the only member of Evolution screwing another member. Setting things up VERY nicely. Notice the pops he's ALREADY getting? Hasn't even turned yet. (How DID the facedom start, anyways? People just realizing he's BADASS?)

Lawler must be banished from Mohammad Hassan's matches. JR too. Admittedly, the character's ham-handed with the heelish traits, but the point is HE'S AN AMERICAN TOO. Sure, he has to be a dick, but the way the announcers are handling it makes regular Americans look bad too.

Since when did Sting sign with WWE? And I don't remember him being black... (No, I just hadn't seen Shelton Benjamin wrestle for a while.)

Jericho? Benoit? You might as well have just started making out RIGHT THERE. Although there's not enough Windex in the world to clean off the TV's of all the fanboys looking forward to next week. Wild Pegasus/Lionheart Benoit/Jericho, submissions-only? D-d-d-damn.

While I can't say I speak for everyone, I personally like Batista because he seems like a mostly quiet, reletively intelligent thinking type, almost with a hint of zen, but then goes A-1 badass in the ring. I've wanted that in more wrestlers since I saw my first Raven match. That's probably why I liked Lesnar and Goldberg for a while, until they started talking and we found out that they were idiots. At least Big Dave has some mic skills...

No, I think it is pretty much the reason he gave in his recent interview with IGN. It is just because he's having friction with Triple H. People hate TCH so much that anyone who goes up against him is pretty much automatically a popular face.

I like Batista for the very same reasons that Jarukoth gave. Most wrestlers think nowadays that shouting down the mic and acting big-headed is cool (*coughJohnCenacough*) but Batista is clearly the thinking-mans' knucklehead (my sister calls him that, rude but fair in a warped sort of way). Its a shame the aforementioned Raven is nowhere near his ECW best in TNA.... whats with the helmet? And i also like Christian and Tyson Tomko for the same reasons, understated and humourous in a smart manner- Christian's rap against Cena was hilarious. It seems Edge didn't keep the humour from his E&C days whilst Christian did.....

And about the HHH thing: I agree that people who go against him are cheered by the crowds for it, but when their heat gets killed off by repetitive losing against Trips then they get frustrated. Just look at Randal, he was booed by sections of the crowd on RAW because of his fKitten Yiffer to win the previous night (the concussion angle was lame).

who is at their ECW "best" anymore? WWE won't allow half the stuff that used to go on in ECW to happen.... and although TNA is more extreme.... I just don't think Raven can handle it anymore.... not to the extent that ECW did things....

that, or he's a big enough name that TNA doesn't want him hurting himself anytime soon....

It's not so much that TNA wouldn't let Raven do the stuff he did in ECW- if they let AJ Styles do a Styles Clash from 20 feet in the air than they can let Raven do anything- its that Raven is not the same character as he used to be. He didn't whine or act like everyone else; here was a guy who who was brooding, uber-cool, had a mysterious background who built up an inexplicable group of people around him including the Blue Meanie and Stevie Richards, and was just plain dark, people. Anyone remember him snapping all of Perry Saturn's fingers in half?

It wasn't just his moves or his mic skills, it was his overall persona that made him. His long, heated and quite frankly legendary feud with Tommy Dreamer is great for so many reasons, and one of which was the attraction of these former high-school friends (per the storyline, anyway) being at odds with each other with one being a regular guy and the other being the polar opposite. But Raven- what a polar opposite! It was a unique twist that not a whole lot of wrestlers have encaptured since. Raven has simply not been the same Raven since he joined WCW, and the wrestling world became a poorer place for it. Oh, and Raven's T-shirts were fucking brilliant.

I liked Batista's facial expression on last Raw.

And I'm happy, I'll (finally) be able to watch TNA.
