As some of you know, I made a Berserker Rikku FFX-2 costume for Anime Central. Well, almost - I couldn't wear my headband because it wasn't sturdy enough to support the horn, so the horn was drooping and looking ridiculous - but at least the rest of it looked pretty good.  I just wanted to share some pictures from our small collection.- Me and a FFX-2 Trainer (probably Yuna - I'm not sure though) - Me and a freakin' AWESOME Berserker Yuna (my collar was twisted, which is why my fur is lopsided...leave it to me to dork up a costume without even trying) - Me and a friend from cosplay.com, who I'd just met at the con - we'd been sharing lots of Berserker tips on the boards as we made our costumes The following have nothing to do with me, but I got a real kick out of them. - River City Ransom group - Pyramid Head! (sorry, you have to turn sideways) - Like Metal Gear Solid? You have to see this. |

Thanks. I actually started planning it in late November, but I'd thought I was going to wear it to Otakon, which is over two months later. Also, I'd wasted around three weeks' time trying (and failing) at other methods of making armor, and I piddled even more time away attempting to dye fake fur with acrylic paint. (It's possible - it just doesn't work well for me. After each attempt, I had to wait for the fur to dry, which took a couple of days - you can't just throw it in the dryer. I wound up using Sharpies.) All in all, I put at least 100 hours of work into this thing, and that's a low estimate. I'm going to fix the headband and redo my feet for next year - GAAAAAWD, those things HURT!  High heels = TEH SATAN!My next project is Zhang He from Dynasty Warriors 4 for next ACEN, but I have nearly a year to do it and I'm starting the weapons now (they're my first fiberglassing project weeeee), so this should be a much less hectic process. |

*sprays Diet Vanilla Coke on her monitor* I actually did get a couple of comments of that nature, including a (joking) marriage proposal from a Mai Shiranui with huge...tracts of land. I thought it was amusing, and Rando was right there in case anybody decided to get obnoxious. Nobody did, though, probably because they figured it wouldn't be wise to mess with someone who's 6'4" and built like a major appliance...  Lupin = w00t. I saw the movie at Otakon 2001 and really enjoyed it, but I haven't gotten to watch any more of it since then. We did see a Lupin at ACEN, but we didn't manage to get a picture. D'oh! |
