1. Using a hex editor, can you increase the number of levels aloud on the OW map?

2. Can you increase the amount of characters that are aloud in the levels name?

3. Can you increase the number of exits and where they lead? For example if I had an area that looked like this:

U
|
|
o-------U
|
|
U

o = level

- and | = paths

U = pipe



Could I have that one level have an exit that would go up, down, and right?

4. NOT using a hex editor, is it possible to add or make new mario paths (the green and blue ones that indicate where Mario goes)?

Thanks, I didn't see any of these in the Help File either (I actually only looked up making new Mario Paths so just tell me if the others are in there)

The 1st thing you would haf to so is extend.exe the hack. but I am not much of a asm hacker yet.

I'm no ROM hacker too, but simply changing (and finding first ) the value using an editor like Resoure Hacker is noz sufficient at all. More levels mean additional preset level layouts, if there's 100 levels for example, you cannot simply set the max. pointer to 120 and write in 20 levels which are almost non-existant

1. Learn ASM, and be unable to use LM's OV editor to set many of their properties, name them, or edit their level messages.
2. Learn ASM, and forgo using LM's OV editor for them.
3. Yes, you can have one exit enable 3 paths from a level. If you mean can you have 3 separate exits enabled by 3 separate events in one level, learn ASM.
4. For new paths, just use the OV editor to add/delete/move tiles. For new path tiles that behave differently than the existing ones, learn ASM.

Hmm... slightly off topic (sorry don't have the answers but looks like the mighty Fu's done a pretty good job anyway ) but how would I go about learning ASM stuff? Pretty tricky yeah?

ASM is pretty complicated and a "low-level" language, but not easy at all.
You need to understand the assembly well, specified for the type of it, in SNES case 65816.
You could check proper docs on Zophar's Domain or simply search the web for tutorials and other information.

If only it were as easy as it sounds. I got no where by searching the web for tutorials. I found plenty of tutorials, but I didn't know what the fuck they were talking about after reading the first paragragh.

Bleah, I got nowhere trying to learn ASM... anyway, I feel there's no point. Sorry if I haven't contributed. Just trying to give you an idea of how hard it is. For something as unimportant as hacking a rom, I wouldn't really bother.
