He's a pioneer. My savior. Anyway, now that you mention it, I was having lots of problems with that color in Firefox (due to the true color of the image, not browser) because that "sun" is a lens flare effect in Photoshop. So it lights up the whole image, and makes the colors too light. Eventually I got it working right, its a smaller lens flare now and theres a bar of color, which is the same as my post background, in the image, which is blended into the lens flare color with the healing tool. The grass is also homemade. (edited by GbBoy on 08-16-04 01:02 PM) |

Even with IE, the difference isn't that big. The sky and the Pokemon are still of almost the same color. | |||

I've been working on this damn layout now for about four hours and I think I did it too early in the morning because I'm really pissed. Okay...here's the layout in question. Works fine for me in IE and the colors are correct, but that is not so on quite a few people's browsers. Don't believe me? Go here. Should look relatively similar to that, no color mess ups. (one thing: I did change the overall height of the post...so it might be a bit bigger in that shot than it really is) By the by, my coding blows. (edited by Ranko on 08-21-04 09:57 AM) |

Originally posted by Xtreme984Originally posted by Someone To change your links and blockquotes, use styles. For links: a:link a:hover a:visited Define stuff after that with css, with a syntax like this: "{ remove quotes; }" link is how it looks before anything is done to it. Hover is what it looks like when someone mouses over it. Visited is what it looks like when the user has clicked on the link. There is also a:active, but thats kind of a queer one. You really only need link and hover, or even just link. As for blockquotes, uh, theres a lot you can do with them, if you know css, it shouldn't cause you much trouble. Ok, now onto my question, the initial reason I wanted to post in this thread. My layout doesn't get a big kick out of horizontal stretching, so I want it to scroll along the x-axis, incase I put in a big image or a long word. I know how to do this, its just like defining a scroll normally, but instead of on both axis'. "Overflow-x: auto" in the div. Problem is, thats a IE specific property. Anyone know how I can do something like overflow-x, but have it compatible with all browsers? |

You're also making the entire page's links that color. Beats me, though. Sorry. |

Originally posted by Xtreme984 Thats correct, but you need to do this so it doesn't define all links on a page, it only defines the links in your post. In the < Then in the < .xtreme a:link { ; } .xtreme a:hover { ; } .xtreme a:active { ; } .xtreme a:visited { ; } K? |

Thats because you too fucking lazy to go find a tutorial or something and actually understand what your coding, rather than just copying it. You obviously do not know what your doing and are likely making errors. (edited by GB-K on 09-02-04 04:24 PM) |

Right, just checking this damn thing About 5 minutes work, most of which was spent in 'extract' in photoshop too, gonna give it more thought over the weekend. Anyways, any problems with this in browsers that aren't Firefox 0.8? And yeah, I know it's old, but it's what's in Debian Sarge right now, and i'm not risking backports |
