Thanks for the heads up. My parent's office got a hold of the last one, and believe me, it wasn't pretty.

Damn damn DAMN.

I'm not home now, I really hope the worm won't find a way into my computer at home... which is always home.

I won't get home until tomorrow. At least I hope the firewall blocks that worm... :/

I'm almost glad I've stuck with 98 because almost no one writes new exploits for it anymore.

I've had to worry about Gaobot ones more than this one though as of late...since it made some pretty nasty rounds with my registry...which may have lead to it being corrupted in the end...

...also got an email from the SBC Yahoo! DSL service today about it...and of course there's what...Netsky and that other one out as well...

Basically...you don't have AV software and/or a firewall...you're done for on here pretty much.

Well, since my Windows Update hasn't said anything, I'll patch it... though I'm really surprised they haven't auto-patched it yet...

Okay, so here's a question for ya. My comp's in the clear on this... it's firewalled and I downloaded all the critical updates (I've had the necessary fix for a while now). But my father's not nearly as diligent when it comes to his comp... I had to fix it when he got Blaster, and now he's got this. I noticed it trying to download the updates. How can I fix this so I can go get the patches, install them, and generally make everything fine?

EDIT: Never mind. Checked the Symantec page, DELTEATED the necessary process and key, patched, and installed a sparkling new version of ZoneAlarm on his comp too.

He got it from me.

And it's not fair to compare a Mac to a PC. Macs aren't REAL computers. They're more like a Speak and Spell.
