Hey! I made a cool game! It's called "I poisoned half the food, so if you eat you might die!" Have a taco.

"You see, NES Beta cartridges were not grey. In fact, you couldnt run a beta game on your standard NES unit. There is a device, like Game Genie, that goes on the bottom of your cartridge that then connects into the NES unit."

That would debunk the Earthbound (Mother 1) for NES beta. Which alot of people thought was a hack, which it wasn't. It had extras that didn't appear in Mother 1, but did appear in the Mother 1/2 remake.

So it could be a true beta, or not. We will find out, if we ever see a leak. I'm not expecting the best game ever however... if it's real.

Who's 'me'? Is he like 'error'?

And I'd like to see that 'beta' soon instead of seeing odd Zelda 2 texts that I've never read before. And I played that game good too.

I'd LOVE to see a beta of that third Zelda game that was in development but the odds of that... pah.

Maybe, if the screenshot wasn't hacked... the cart's a pirate?

ERROR is his name I read on a site one time because the cart can't locate his name or, it was that the character was never ment to be there in the first place...It was one of those...Sorry.. I forget...

EDIT: I lied. "Later on in the game, when you get to another town, someone tells you to go meet with Error. He gives you a magic spell, if I remember correctly." Quoted from some site.

EDIT2: New Joystic on the thing... http://www.joystiq.com/entry/1234000470065357/

People are going nuts there, saying it's fake and all....It prolly is real.

Viral advertising campaign. I can smell it.

Zelda III cart for NES.

Silicon Knights aka "We made one of the best Game Cube titles ever".

Nintendo.

I smell it.

Not exactly sure what the story on Error is, though I've heard that it IS simply just his given name, and it DOES appear in the Japanese version as well. I of course have no way to prove this.

After reading over that site, I've basically lost my interest in this.

Really, I think there would be a lot of hype around this, but the new article joystiq posted about the owner being a member of Silicon Knights just seems to make this a huge cry for attention, or something.

Sounds pretty dumb now.

If this is viral marketing then it would be fantastic although it's not reaching a super-wide audience yet I think.

Or they bought it to give it to Nintendo to destroy.

I'm pretty sure that was a release candidate cartridge, not a real beta. Slight difference.

The Zelda 3 NES beta seemed incredibly fishy, at best. Completely fake at worst.

Looking back... I completely fail at the quotes.

Release candidate to me means essentially the production version... But not actually released to the public. Meaning... It's still not released, but it could be.
