| Yep. My friend and I were just randomly browsing sites today at school, and eventually we stumbled upon this article, supposedly about a Zelda III beta NES cartridge. I read up on it in every way I could, and honestly I'm pretty interested. Yeah, the owner here has given out not much information out other than "It's buggy", but it still seems somewhat believable, after we've all seen things like "Mother", "Sonic Crackers", etc and so on. I'm skeptical at the moment, but this really got me interested. Has anyone else ever heard about this? Or thinks anything of it? We've got Zelda BS roms floating around, I'm really hoping this guy puts out a rom of this, or we get it somehow. I just wonder, is this an earlier NES version of LTTP? An overhead Zelda game? Something like Zelda II? Completely different? Edit: I guess this news was posted today. The guy claims he'll put up pictures on his site soon, hopefully we'll see something ... | If this is real, it might just be a NES version of a Zelda we do have. Such as Link to the past for SNES, or Links awakening for GB. Simcity was devoloped for NES and SNES, but was pulled just to increase SNES sales. Maybe there was a similar reason for Zelda. (with the expection that the game wasn't devoloped for two platforms at once )I guess some translator thought that Error did sound like a neat name... if it's a japanse one I could understand that. I'm kinda leaning towards fake, but i'm not too surprised if it's real. Since... beta from Nintendo have shown up before. Starfox2 anyone? (It's been discussed if Starfox2 wasn't dumped, but just compiled for source directly somehow. | Here's a rebuttal article, by the way. The site is run by TSA--you know, the guy who did the OoT speed runs (And some others)? I'd say he has as much credibility as anyone else on the Internet in regards to this. Not exactly sure what the story on Error is, though I've heard that it IS simply just his given name, and it DOES appear in the Japanese version as well. I of course have no way to prove this. |
