First of all, I have read the FAQ and I have put my picture on the photo thread on the General chat forum. But on the FAQ it states that I should post my pic to 'someone' but I don't know who that 'someone' is. Is it the local mod, an administrator or what?
Thanks in advance

NOBODY KNOWS!
The FAQ is outdated. The photo album thread is the way to go because the actual album is never updated. =\

It's been updated once since this board was started, so I think you'll be waiting. When it does get updated, you'll be added if you posted in that thread.

What they should have done was make the photo album work like Coppermine: board members can upload a photo of themsleves, and one or two people are chosen to be the mods of the photo album. Those mods can approve or disapprove the addition of a photo. If it's approved, the photo is added to the album. If it's not, then it's deleted.

But that makes too much sense, so don't count on it ever happening here.

Ok so I guess I shouldn't expect my pic to be added anytime soon. Oh well.
I don't mean to sound like an asshole but how come they don't update the album regularly. Are they just not bothered to do it?

Only admins with PMA access (I think) can update the Photo Album, and it takes up some time.
They have better things to do.

Yeah, better things, like ignore bug reports, create craptacular new schemes, and generally screw up the board. Oh, and not give the OWNER any control of his own board.

So no, Shane, don't expect those who have the ability to do something, such as update the photo album, to do it anytime soon. Local and Full mods do what they can with what they have, and so do some admins, but they don't have a whole lot to work with.

Nope, don't need PMA access. The photos have their own file folder branched off the board. Just upload the file and thumbnail and voila.

So they need FTP access.

It doesn't even have to be an admin. As long as you can FTP into the server, and upload files, that's all the permission you need.

...except on this particular server, you need to have SVN* access, and download the entire site to a local copy, then place the photo in the copy, then commit the changes, blkaahreerjb

as opposed to FTP, where you, you know, upload

(it's also one of the main reasons Acmlm doesn't upload anything here and instead uses acmlm.overclocked.org)

One more reason AcmlmBoard v1.Xx sucks. One more reason SVN sucks.
